Explore a vast city, constantly changing due to disease, famine and hostiles.
Shape the world around you into something you are content with.
But never linger too long, danger is never far away.
We are a small group of friends and family who have been playing together for many years.
This server is something we can work on while we are slacking on ventrilo and watching mexican beheading porn.
Probability of death the first night: 87% loads of science behind this!
Our ambition with this server has always been to blend the awesomeness that is Minecraft along with another great love of ours; Zombies. Midian is an attempt at doing so; dynamic barricades, hordes of zombies, stress and teamwork all add up to create what is Midian.
A server where teamwork is more important than building pretty towers and castles. Finding your next meal is more crucial to your survival than any diamond will ever be.
Defend your settlements against the undead that will inevitably be shuffling (at 300 mp/h) towards it,
and its meaty inhabitants.
Explore and adapt, and survive.
Welcome, once again, to Midian.
What you can expect from Midian
A huge city to explore and conquer.
The epic challenge of surviving said city.
The opportunity to make new friends, as surviving on your own is much,
much harder than attempting to do so with a trusted ally!
Sheer horror as unending numbers of undead hordes barrel down upon you
and whomever you may love or care about.
What we expect from you
Common sense. That is all.
The CityWorld generator is known for making the Minecraft client explode. We highly recommend Optifine
Please try it before ranting in the chat about the low framerate you are mistaking for "lag".

This is me running with no equipment, in the middle of a large city.
I died a few seconds after this picture was taken.
Surviving in Midian is a lot like starting out in vanilla Minecraft.
You start with the little things, like punching trees and making ovens.
What's different is that it takes more careful planning.
These are my first days of survival.
I woke up to a terrible noise.
My first reaction was to get the hell out of there fast.
First I grabbed a few things that might be useful.
But hold on a minute! I probably shouldn't run out there now. It's too dark.
I have a better chance to survive if I wait for dawn.
After I escaped my house, I ran for hours.
Suddenly I realized I was lost.
If I was going to survive the night, I needed to gather some supplies.
First things first. Wood.
I had to fight off some of the creatures.
I soon learned they usually had some money on them.
This will come in handy later on.
Seeds. I look for it everywhere I go.
I must hurry to set a farm up before the sun goes down.
Too late! It's almost night.
I need something strong to keep the creatures out.
Quickly, I set up a workbench and a furnace,
on the top floor of a tall building.
I need some torches before it becomes too dark.
This building is made from bricks. It should hold up well.
Put up some torches and bar up the windows!
Better not stay so close, or they will claw through.
If I go up to the top floor they will lose interest in me.
New day! I've gotten some cash from the creatures
so I can use /sethome
If I don't do anything about the food situation right now,
I will probably starve in a few days.
During the day I gather more seeds to expand my farm.
I also keep my eyes open for animals. A pig or chicken would
really help about now.
At night I just wait. I can't afford wasting energy on hard work.
Zombies will claw through just about anything. It just takes a while with hard material.
You cannot ignore a horde outside your walls forever. Try to lock them off, and get as far away as possible.
That's why tall buildings are great.
Luckily, I found string to make a fishing rod.
Finally I can eat!
I feel secure enough to fight the creatures at night.
This will not only give me cash, but also useful items to help with my survival.
This is me four days after my escape.
I have a farm and a fishing rod.
I have a building where I feel safe.
Here I can stay and craft enough items for the real challenge.
