We are a fantasy roleplay server featuring a highly customizeable, community based experience! To enhance our roleplay we use a light modpack run through Technic launcher (Help Here!) using Thaumcraft, Witchery, Botania, Pam's Harvestcraft, Custom NPC's with active storyline quests, Tinker's Construct, and Bibliocraft.
Our class system is highly customizeable as characters can choose their own skills to determine their own path! PvP is done through roleplay mechanics, and PvE is done through minecraft mechanics, with a rolling system intertwined. We have a friendly staff and community that will be here to help you every step of the way!
The Beginning of Modern Civilization: A Writing by Historian Sebastian Cainin
Though not much is known about our various ancestors, what we do know, passed down from various tomes and stories. Tens of thousands of years ago, the many races of the land were but small fledgling groups, roving the lands in bands of hunter gatherers. As time passed and technology and knowledge began to improve, these groups settled down in small communities, which in turn, gave way to city states. As time progressed even further, our world began to take a familiar shape, as nations began to form, empires spreading their power and influence across the land. But with this expansion came conflict. Nations began to bicker and quarrel over resources and lands, leading to increasingly bloody conflicts. But from this conflict, came rapid advances in the rudimentary forms of magic, and from this, crude schools of magic began to emerge, training those that were deemed worthy in the ways of the arcane. But because these schools were small and distant relative to each other, their influence was small. This changed when, roughly 1500 years ago, the Arcanist known as Dramier set up the The Grand Academy in the heart of the Praetorian Empire. The school would go on to grow and absorb the smaller schools, pooling their collective knowledge.
Excerpt from the book Brief History of The Grand Academy
“As time went on, nations rose and fell, wars raged across the lands. But one thing remained constant through all of it. The Academy remained a beacon of knowledge and power, one that did not judge those that entered its halls on their race and social class. But rather on the wit and merits of the individual students. The Academy has seen many of her Alum move onto do great things for the world, in many fields such as Medicine, the arcane arts, Architecture, and many others. And to this day, The Academy remains a powerful symbol of the good that people can do when they come together to better our world”
In our present day, The Academy continues to enjoy unfettered access and influence that expand beyond national borders. With Satellite Campuses in all capital cities in the land, in addition to countless smaller embassies in smaller communities, The Academy draws all that are willing to learn into its halls. In addition to being an educational institution, The Academy also involves itself in, among other ventures, the exploration of new lands, to help spread it’s influence.
Colonizing the Unknown
And now you’re all caught up. You have volunteered, or been graciously selected to be a part of an exciting opportunity. The frontier territory of Scalia has long presented unique challenges and mystery for those wishing to venture deep into her lands. About 4 years ago, one of our groups of researchers set up a small plot deep in the lands, and established the settlement of Refuge. Today, you and a contingent of our best and brightest are being sent along to set up a more permanent holding in Refuge, to finally bring proper civilization to the wilds there. Because of the remoteness of the settlement, communication has been sparse, and as such, what to expect upon arrival is shrouded in mystery.

But to love something despite. To know the flaws and love them too. That is rare and pure and perfect.”

It's been so much fun so far! Events are starting up, and things are really getting going!
