Me and some friends where having worlds of trouble trying to run the latest yogscast complete on affordable servers, by chance i found goliath hosting and decided to try their premium 2GB service, which Connor promptly installed, we where ready for it to literally fall appart again (yogscast complete is a ***** to run), but these guys hardware took it like a champ, everything worked perfectly, so yeah yogscast complete, 10 people on average, 2 GB, almost no lag at all (we restarted once a day) what else can i say.
HIGHLY recommend Goliath hosting premium service, yes is a little more expensive but is a whole new experience, also if there is any problem you can just poke Connor on skype and he will get to it asap, thanks for the grat service GH =D
If you consider a Minecraft Hosting, I suggest Goliath Hosting! As a person who is really particular in hosts these guys are great! I got my server within no time and I got quick replies on my questions! I highly recommend them!
I have been with Goliath Hosting for about 6 or so months now. From day one i was instantly contacted through skype and servers were set up almost instantly. The servers are high quality and have a simply to use control panel. Had no issues and if i did the issue was resolved almost instantly, and that brings you to their staff members. Awesome Staff members that are always ready to help and care for their members!
Overall if you looking into a good server host i Highly recommend Goliath.
Everything was running smoothly and fine until about week 3 of hosting with them. My overall server TPS dropped down from 19.9TPS daily to about 9.3-15.6 TPS average for a full 24 hours and is still currently running at 15 average.
Support time was good and all at first, but then the host became very poor.
2/10 and the 2 is from the beginning support response times.
Hey there, we did indeed have a TPS related issue this evening that was just recently resolved though it was not occurring for 24 hours. Our support tickets are generally replied to within 30 minutes unless they require special attention from a senior position.
I wish you the best of luck with your server and I'm sorry it didn't work out ( :
I have been doing business with GoliathHosting for three months; I am in the process of upgrading from their Lowest-Tier Managed Services to one of their Dedicated Server packages.
I would rate my overall experience with GoliathHosting as "Very Positive". I did have some frustrating issues however, given the fact that I was running a fully-developed FTB Monster server on their cheapest hosting plan ($2.50/1gb/mo), I cannot hold it against them with respect to an assessment of their quality as a host.
Why I chose GoliathHosting:A
I had been running my FTB Monster server under GFgaming.org since January 2014; the owner, blackielife, graciously hosted my server on his dedi until late August when he had to obtain another hosting solution. I needed an inexpensive, and immediate solution for my server and GoliathHosting fit the bill. Registration was easy and the Managed services were available immediately; I uploaded the server and began the process of bringing it online. At this point, GH fully met my needs.
Start-up of a modded server on GH Managed Services: B Moving my Modded server from a dedi to GH's Managed services was easy, although the FTP file transfer speed is significantly and understandably slower than the deidi had moved from. Getting the server to work, however was a bit of a hassle, albeit one with clear instructions on how to have it rectified;
Like any other Managed hosting solution, I had limited access to my server settings and it took a few trouble tickets to get everything adjusted properly -- and they did indeed work with me on this. I had to create a ticket to have Multicraft configured to read .jar's from the root directory, rather than their per-loaded solutions in a drop down menu. It also required a few more tickets to gain the ability to toggle the server visibility (permitting me to allow my other admins access to the server). In addition, you initially do not have the option to choose the amount of player slots; they are configured to give you 10 slots per GB you have ordered; this is not a proper ratio for a thickly Modded server such as mine. If you make a single ticket addressing these initial start-up issues they will get it set up for you, it just takes a bit of time.
Low-Budget Hosting Experience:B+
After all of the start-up issues had been addressed, the server ran fine. Again, considering this is a FTB Monster server running on a $2.50/GB hosting package, I was quite impressed with the performance in general. There were some intermittent issues with downtime though; GH does not seem to have a mechanism to automatically notify you of node outages, I had to make a ticket to find out why my server was unreachable. But, nonetheless, it did come back up and worked fine. All three servers I have with them have experienced some degree of downtime issues; I do not assess this downtime to be any worse than what could normally be expected of this type of hosting. I recommend their budget hosting to anyone who is just getting started, or like me, just needs a place to park their server for a while.
Customer Support:C+I will start this segment by saying that the GH customer support will help you sufficiently to ensure all adjustments have been made to Multicraft and your server gets started. Beyond that, getting help and assistance is like pulling teeth; it seems they are more focused on giving you a timely response (avg 4hrs) than putting thought and substance into their responses. Responses are often one-two-liners that sometimes leave me with more questions than I started with, and in the awkward position of deciding if I should bother them with another ticket/reply or to just kind of wing it. On the positive side, there is support and they do respond to tickets fairly quickly and with brevity, it just feels like they treat them as chores rather than professional correspondence.
Conclusion: B+Sometimes you have to look beyond the traditional talking points while reviewing a service; this is where GoliathHosting shines for me. Simply put, their budget services permitted me to expand. Their low price point furnished me a chance to add two new servers, allowing my team to spend a month developing and testing them without a significant increase in cost since they do not yet generate any donation income to pay for themselves. GH has so far facilitated our expansion into the more costly Dedicated Hosting world, and they have made it easy by offering to migrate the server files for us. I will amend this review later to include my experiences with their dedicated hosting.

Hi there! I read through your reviews and I was wondering, what would be the best server location, if most (if not all) of my members were located in Singapore? Unfortunately I don't find many people who do offer hosting anywhere close to my region, and when I do, they're for extremely jacked up prices I'm not willing to pay for. What would you suggest?
Hey there, sorry for the late reply but if you are looking for something with good connection to Singapore then something on the West Coast or even better, in Asia would suit you best. I don't think a server in Central or Eastern USA is a good choice ( :
Hi - not new to hosting, but new to Minecraft Server Hosting and have some questions.
Your Premium Hosting say 1gb -- how many players can be on at the same time? My son wants a basic server - we host on his desktop right now, 12gb RAM but a home PC so the server will crash once we hit about 15-players and a lot of lag if he's playing at the same time.
What is the difference between SLOTS and RECOMMENDED PLAYERS? Sorry probably a very simple question... I think that they would be the same?
Do you offer dedicated IPs? Additional cost or part of your package? We have a domain name, can we point it to the dedicated IP (if offered)?
If I start out on STANDARD can I later upgrade to a PREMIUM server?
Do you offer a test server that could be set-up so that I can see what it's like? Again new to Minecraft Server Hosting and I'd like to see what I'm getting myself into as I'd have to manage it for my son and his friends.
Not to dispute your pricing - but others offer $2.50/gb - what am I getting better (guess it's all relative, right) by choosing Goliath Hosting versus someone less expensive?
We have updated our pricing to reflect a more competitive market. Our hosting in Kansas, and Quebec is now 3.50/GB/Month while our Premium E3-1275 Hosting in Quebec and France remains at $8/GB/Month for the time being.
Thanks for the kind words!
