Hey Minecraft Forums users, its been a while. Looking at this thread I must have accidentally removed the content on this post so I'm here to tell you a bit about GoliathHosting.com. No flashy images, no 'crazy deals', just simple Minecraft and server hosting. There are no limits on our server hosting other than RAM, you can do whatever you would like.
Team
We are a team of enthusiasts, mostly college students, with a background in computer technology looking to bring you the best in hosting. We have people on standby during the day and most of the night to answer support tickets, usually within the hour.
Network
We host our Minecraft servers on hardware provided by OVH. This used to be frowned upon, people who did this were called 'resellers' and were seen as amateurish for no good reason. OVH provides the best hardware on the best network. When it comes to reliability and stability they cannot be beat. By hosting with OVH we ensure your Minecraft server has 99.9% uptime, absolute DDoS protection, and great speeds.
Hardware / Software
We use Intel Xeon E3-1245v2 servers with 32GB of memory. This is an ideal CPU power to RAM ratio for game servers such as Minecraft. For storage we use SSDs, not the old mechanical drives of the past. We utilize the Multicraft Panel so customers are able to do almost anything they want with their server.
Pricing / Order
Our pricing is simple for Minecraft Hosting; $3.50/GB with considerable discounts for ordering quarterly, semi annually, and annually.
If you want to check out our Minecraft plans you can click here.
We also offer a selection of dedicated servers for the more technical userhere.
This company is great! Took no time to set up and seems really stable. I didn't know how to do everything and they even helped me =). Now me and my friends can play direwolf20 together.

2 x Intel Xeon L5520 Running At 2.27Ghz (Hyper Threaded for 16 Total Cores)
I was going to buy from a competitor with basically the same CPU and all kinds of others hosts said that not going to beat a up to date E3 at any rate.

It's true they are a bit of an older Intel model but they are still very relevant. Ive linked a article comparing the newest E3 to the L5520 and as you can see there is no massive difference. You also have to factor in that we have 2 of these CPU's, doubling the Processing power.
Single E3-1270 @ 3.8GHz
8 Cores Hyper threaded = 16 Cores
16 X 3.8 = 60.8GHz
Okay but for minecraft the better a single core operates the more power minecraft can actually use as minecraft is both single core and threaded. So according to what what up there 3.8ghz core is probably going to outsell a 2.53 core. That's what I'm trying to "boils" down. Companies that claim that they have more "CPU power" just because they put in more cores into the machine and/or allocates you to. Don't get me wrong since some things can use more than one core (some plugins and etc) but for normal/modded minecraft it's the performance of a single core and thread that'll do the most good.

Hey I guess its a never ending debate, and trust me I've looked into it quite a bit but for what we were doing the L5520 server was a good start for us as we do a little more than MC hosting. The single core theory may be the way to go but in the end they are both quality Intel CPU's and there going to get the job done.
Well the Intel E3 1270v3 "claimed to be dedicated core clocking in at 3.8ghz" is running like this http://i.imgur.com/Zu8Nm09.jpg And I want to put about 20 players on a server with of course enough RAM. But it going hay wires even with 5 players as you can see... So yea I can't come out short on a processing power like my current provider is. (ridiculously priced btw)

I have been using this host for a couple months now and it is AMAZING. No lag, fast response customer support and a friendly/helpful staff team. As for those of you saying that the processors are bad, they are actually quite great. I have a series of servers with this host and CPU is usually only 0-10% usage. Can't go wrong with that! If you've been looking for a host look no further, try it you won't regret it!

I have bin with this host for over a month now. In the beginning I had no problems at all, But at one point I was getting a big problem which was fixed almost instantly. They are by far one of the bests hosts I have bin with.
-----=={Reasons to choose Goliath Hosting}==----
1. Fast support: Though I only had problems that one day they were fixed almost instantly. I wish there wasn't any problems at all, but plenty of hosts have there problems even including huge hosts like MC pro hosting.
2. Fast server ping: Most people over look this one part, but with the faster the ping the faster your server will be because the ping is how well you connect to the server so if you are getting a bad ping you probably wont have the best time on the server because you are lagging.
3.Frequent updates: They are one of the few hosts that actually care about keeping customers updated they will tell you whats going on. Recently they had a server transfer which took no time at all, but it was nice to be told before it was done. With some other host I have bin with during a server transfer they don't really tell you till its all over and its transferred.
4. Caring about there customers: Most hosts say they care, but the truth is they just want to see you open your wallet.
In the end if you just want cheap hosting, but with the support of a really big company I would choose them because although they are new and they do have great services they make sure all there stuff is running at top notch quality. I have gotten a good friend of mine to use there services they haven't complained once about it

Dual L5520 @ 2.53GHz
2 8 Cores Hyper Threaded = 32 Cores
32 X 2.53 = 80.96GHz
So as you can see, the setup we're running offers more raw processing power than the "normal" E3 setup. I hoped this helped clarify.
