The Dark Trilogy is a modpack composed of three tiers of mods; technology, magic & nature. Balance was a key element in the development of The Dark Trilogy with lasting game play a priority. Custom recipes have been added to bring mods of each tier together with the overall goal of leaving no mods left un-played. However the three tiers are mostly separated, so for example if you want to only advance with the tech side of things magic will never be forced upon you. Only very end-game and OP items require two sometimes all three of the tiers of the pack to be played.
The Dark Trilogy is a great modpack for servers since it brings all different types of players together similar to the way FTB Ultimate/Unleashed/Monster did in the past. But instead of just having 100-150 mods with most players never touching half of them I wanted that to change. Most players are skeptic to try new mods but with The Dark Trilogy you find yourself playing and building with mods you are unfamiliar with just to progress, which makes learning those mods that much more fun. NEI is your best friend in this pack, it will contain almost all the information you will need to advance.
FTB Resurrection is a 1.7.10 modpack based on the classic FTB Ultimate. With many of your favorite mods, this heavily customised modpack is designed to give you a complete modded experience with something for everyone.
***Warning*** This pack is not for the faint-hearted.

how many players do you think your services could handle on both basic and premium per gb of ram on a serer that would have about 40 or less plugins idk if you know but an estimate would be nice i would think it would be more players than other hosts becuz of ddr4 ram
Unfortunately it is impossible to provide such an estimation because the involved factors are just too many.
Everything counts, including map size, types of plugins, each individual plugin configuration, kinds of builds on your world, memory intensive builds like mob grinders, amount and complexity of redstone on the world and so on.
Player estimations were somewhat possible with vanilla minecraft a few versions back, but once plugins and mods are involved, every estimation is invalid.
As a rule of thumb, indeed a server hosted on DDR4 should hold more players than the same server hosted on DDR3, but giving even vague player number recommendations is impossible.
To help clients with this predicament, we have made our plans flexible, providing customisable player slots as well as easy and instant plan upgrades/downgrades. This way you can adjust your server plan as you go, at any time, and to the exact needs of your server.
Keep in mind that the choice between Standard or Premium affects only CPU power and not memory or number of players. Standard plans are better suited for small to medium servers, while Premium plans offer better CPUs and are ideal for larger servers or ones with high demands (Large amount of plugins, heavily modded, very large world sizes etc.).

Just wanted to add my 2 cents here about "The Smelter" hosting company...
My background:
I am currently 32, and work in the IT field. I have run many MC servers in the past, such as: Vanilla, Bukkit, Forge-based, Cauldron, and custom-modpacks. I have also dealt with a number of hosting companies to achieve this. Nearly all of the hosting companies I have used before have come up short in one area or another. Whether it be concerning uptime, modpack compatibility, customer support, or having poor system specs, not to mention other small issues I can't think of right now.
Why we decided to try "The Smelter":
After reviewing the system specs they offer, and the reviews on multiple websites, we decided to give them a shot. They were not the cheapest hosting company out there we found, but they seemed the most professional, and had the best reviews. They were also one of the few hosting providers that allowed for a "one-click" install of ModSauce (we have now moved onto our own custom modpack). Having the one-click install was a VERY nice feature to get up-and-running quickly. Not only do they offer one-click installs for ModSauce, but also a lot of other modpacks most other hosting companies won't touch. Even "Starmade" one-click installs! After a few months of running a ModSauce server, we decided to make our own custom modpack. This is technically not supported by ANY hosting company really, but when we ran into some PermGen issues, Max (from Tech Support) was VERY fast to answer my questions (less than 5 min response time to support tickets) with the information we needed to keep running our pack with "The Smelter".
Why we are staying with "The Smelter":
2 things: #1) EXCEPTIONAL Customer Support answering tickets, with speed and accurate information (not to mention friendliness), and, #2) System Specs. As I have said, "The Smelter" is not the cheapest option out there, but with that being said, from my experience they are worth every last penny. I have tried to skimp & save a few dollars here & there using other hosting companies... but, when the chips are down, and you need assistance quickly and accurately, I have never seen another hosting company beat these guys. Our custom modpack runs nearly 200 mods, and I have NEVER had any one of our members say ANYTHING about connection-lag or complain about the server responding slowly.
In conclusion:
I want to say give a MASSIVE "Thank You" to Max (our support rep.) for being on-the-ball, when we needed help. I have NO problems recommending "The Smelter" to ANYONE else looking for a hosting service. You will *definitely* get what you pay for with these guys.
+10 billion points to "The Smelter" from one of your MANY VERY satisfied customers.

for anyone not interested in reading the full response, a summary is: if you are new to servers or have any lack of technical knowledge (like me) i seriously suggest you choosing the smelter, best decision i could have hoped to make.
now, as a first time server owner i cant say i have much experience to compare the smelter with, but i am a person (wow, someone on the internet is an actual human being? no way!) and i can say that their main selling point (for me) is the outstanding customer service. They have a physical person ready to chat with you at almost every hour of the day, and if there isn't a customer service agent available you can send them a message that they will address as soon as possible! I wanted to change my modpack multiple times (yes, they allow as many modpack changes as you want!) and to say i got confused would be an understatement. i was totally and utterly unable to figure out how to do it, even with their fantastically intuitive website (i have a severe lack of technical knowhow) but they were able to walk me through every single solitary step of the way, all the while being incredibly nice and relate-able (not to mention putting up with my stupidity).
I'm not going to sit here and list all the technical facts and how they compare to other hosters simply because i dont know those facts, but i can honestly say that if it is your first time looking to have a server hosted for you and you have any doubt at all how to do anything regarding your server, then TheSmelter is for you.
The customer support agent i worked with (Stella B.) was unimaginably helpful, and on top of her (and i'm sure every other one of their customer support agents) technical knowledge she really seemed to genuinely enjoy her job a great amount.
my overall rating: 100/10 would most certainly recomend
In Trident, players are thrust into a land well past the brink of war. For as far as you can see, the world around you has been reduced to a smoldering expanse of death and decay. Sharp, craggy hills dot the landscape, carving ravines teeming with tainted water and deadly radiation. What does remain is a small oasis: one filled with plants and wildlife that haven’t succumbed to the poisonous environment. There may be more places like this- land without the deep scars of blight, but you’re not sure of where they might be. For now though, it is here in this tiny paradise that you shall set up your base.
However, you’re not alone. Like, you, others have been drawn to this gleaming desert gem. They want what you want. They want what you have. They don’t hesitate to take it.
To survive, you have allied yourself into one of three factions: Red, Green, and Blue. Your goal: establish dominance over the opposing teams and secure your victory on the battlefield. You can accomplish this by building up your infrastructure, quickly harvesting resources, and utilizing the very same weapons of war that destroyed this land.
The Great Battle is over, but the war has just begun.
Travel to distant worlds and dimensions, encounter ghoulish and strange creatures, and craft legendary tools and equipment in this exploration-themed modpack. Based around the 'Advent of Ascension' mod, this pack challenges players to create, travel, and survive in multiple environments with their own unique flair. Go forth, drifter, and travel once more.

I am trying to find a modded server provider that has a way for me to auto-update my server's private ftb pack onto the server.
So would it be possible for me to get my server's FTB third-party private pack added to your 1-click auto installer (preferably just for my account)?
And is there any way to auto-update the server's installation of said modpack?
Even if I just have a script that deletes the ".modpack" file what-have-you during downtime.
You can find my pack on the ATLauncher here.
