It is our goal to push the boundaries of what is possible with redstone engineering to it's breaking point and beyond. Computers, displays, vaults, minecart systems, mini-games, and anything else that involves redstone technology.
The RDF is a symbol of quality engineering and ingenuity. When the Minecraft community sees a project with the RDF name, they should know that they are about to see something incredible.
Disclaimer: All projects created by members of the RDF are owned entirely by their respective creator(s).
Thank you, but at the current time we're still setting everything up. Once our Charter is posted and things begin to unfold, then we'll begin to see about accepting members. Also, you might want to get a bit more experience around the forums, as this is apparently your first post.
However, if you would list your experience and such, we'd be more than happy to take it into consideration, if not actively evaluating.
You'd need to ask Berick on the internals of the TV, I'm mostly computer logic and the like. But his is a full-motion 21x21 display. Thank you for putting in your notice of wanting to join, once we get a bit more of a firm grounding we'll be more than happy to mull it over!
Shrogg: Thanks for your interest in joining! As blue said, we have only just been established, so we are taking it slow on the recruiting until we get everything settled a bit, but I was impressed by some of the devices on your Youtube channel.
I'm pretty sure that my TV is unique. I haven't seen anything like it before, and I built it from scratch. Here is a better video that shows off it's capability. The only reason that video is not on the first page is because it was a promotion I did for the UTD, which I am no longer a part of. An RDF one is coming soon :smile.gif:
Also, I ran a search for thejessassins display, but couldn't find it. Do you have a link?
No i dont have any evidence proving it, because he thought it was too inefficient (i think, so dont quote me on that one) but he built a simple example on my server to show me.
so I'm not accusing you of stealing the idea, as i don't think it was released publicly.
Anyway, do you want to see my latest project? (this is not a origonal idea, because i saw it on a image, but i have never seen it actually running, so that made me want to make one, but the way i went about doing it is my own)
its abit like "Gizmo" but its alot smaller,
Heres a image of its current progress
Atm its running 4 bit bytes (because my cpu is 4 bit) making this is 8 bytes, its very easy to make it wider too, you can just C&P it. (note, the decoder is not implmented as i have yet to build it)
its 16 bytes, with 8bit bytes, its all adressible from the main hub.
i still have a few bugs with it (involving a set of inputs) so that will have to be fixed
He once dreamt that he was a butterfly fluttering here and there. In the dream he had no awareness of his individuality as a person. He was only a butterfly. Suddenly, he awoke and found himself laying there, a person once again. But then he thought to himself, "Was I before a man who dreamt about being a butterfly, or am I now a butterfly who dreams about being a man?"
I would love to help with any projects you guys are working on. While I haven't built anything nearly as complex as the display or pacman game, I feel like I am pretty good with building some mediocre structures with redstone. I would have to say my specialty would be in creating rail systems as that is what I have spent the most time on, both as a checkpoint system in my puzzle map and in the creation of my subway system.
While they only contain fairly simplistic contraptions, the two maps in my signature show off some of what I have done.
I would have to say my greatest redstone accomplishment at this time is creating the musical trap in my puzzle map. Unfortunately, I do not have any screen shots of this but if you play the map you can check it out for yourselves, which I'm sure is easier for you anyways.
Also, Shrogg, could you explain your design in depth a bit more? Or, barring that, send us a schematic of it so we can poke with it a bit?
Of course, if it's still on a server, it'd be nice if we could pop on and look under the hood.
I see what you did there, and i can send you a .schematic file if you want (this is going to be included in my redstone computer creators pack) i just need to finish off the last 8 bits with their decoder then its done.
im probably going to compress it tonight (possibly putting the decoder on the top?).
(im not at home right now so i cant upload it)
I actually planned to join the UTD, but now I guess it'll be the RDF instead.
I'm an experienced redstone user, and while I haven't made anything really huge(I have some ideas I'd like to try to implement into a CPU, but school takes up a lot of my time, so i haven't even started building it yet...), I have built a lot of smaller things, such an an ALU(8-bit, adds and subtracts, supports negative inputs and outputs), a fast(2 TD[slightly off topic, but I try to use TD, Torch Delay, instead of "ticks" to avoid confusion between actual ticks and the torch delay time often called a tock, wich is actually 2 ticks]) 7 segment display & decoder(Or whatever you'd call that...I'm not sure.), and a few small things that often come in useful in my bigger projects, like a logic unit that depending on one input decides wich one of two other inputs to use. Currently, I'm working on a classic jumping game, y'know, the one with platforms that you have to jump on falling from the top of the screen. It's still in a pretty early stage of development, though.
I can't provide any save(I do most of my stuff in SMP), but I'll try to take a few screenshots and upload them soon.
Also, I am an amateur modder, so if anyone has requests for simple things like flip-flop blocks(that's about how advanced my mods get) and stuff like that, just PM me.
Lastly, I would like to once again(i allready did this in another thread.) say that the MineMan game looks awesome! I am a huge fan of games in minecraft, with or without redstone.
