I have never worked as a moderator before, but I love playing Minecraft. I have ran my own server for a short time for my friends. I am currently in college pursuing a degree in cyber security. most of my time now is spent playing video games. I feel this would be a great experience in which I could learn a lot. I may not be the best person for the job but everyone must start somewhere.
I've been a plugin developer and head admin for several servers. Players in general like the way I work because it is systematic and structured. They see I'm not biased towards other players so I believe it is a really good trait to have in order to be a successful admin.
As a plugin developer, I was told to create simple plugins that would have the server get into 'maintainence mode' which allowed admins to kick everyone and give a kick message sayin that the server is under maintainence.
As a admin, I was assigned to mainly focus on hackers and see if there are players cheating in any way (we had a sever hacker problem). I'd usually take pictures or video of the player hacking and request the higher up to ban the player. I was then promoted to Head Admin and my duties extended onto 'admin accountability' which they meant that if an admin was acting irresponsibly by abusing powers, saying profanity, etc, I was ordered to discipline them and sometimes take away their admin powers.
I believe this is a great opportunity for me to get more experience as getting to better understand servers. Also because I would love to help out I have experience and think you guys may be able to use me. I also believe that I would be able to learn from this experience and to gain knowledge of servers from a different perspective than I have had before. Whether its helping the daily life of the server or helping the big picture of the server I believe I would be able to help. I believe that by helping you guys I would be able to not only help you but also help the players have more fun, to stay on the server, and to not feel left out, whether its because they don't feel the staff cares about them or because they feel that the staff hacks, cheats, etc I believe I can help. Also because I've always wanted to be able to learn how to code and get into marketing!
I have been Owner on a very small server that I started that did not work out because of funds, I owned another server with one of my friends that had the same issue. I was an Admin on a prison server that just didn't fit for me because the owner was not a very respectable man. I was Admin on a UHC server that I didn't have time to go on because of school. (no longer an issue) If you would like to talk to the owner of the UHC server that I worked on for a reference I would happily send you his way if asked. I have been asked by a few people before to help them with questions which I have happily helped with world edit and other things. I have lots of experience with world edit, I understand a little about setting up group manager, and I usually pick up pretty easily on new plugins. I am an alright builder if needed I can build an ok arena. I am a beginning artist and love designing new things, if needed I can design something (probably not be the actual artist like I said I'm a beginner)
Thank you for reading this I hope you consider me and hope to see myself on your server being whatever it is you choose
I've seen your advertisements for Staff members multiple times on the forums, and I have always been a bit hesitant as your advertisements seem a tad on the "too good to be true" side. But none the less I might as well give this a shot...
I cannot say I've ever truly been a full time Moderator as servers that I have been Moderator on have ceased to exist, but I have ran the odd sever here and there, when my internet and/or hardware were capable of doing so, and things ran fairly smoothly. In terms of other leadership I have been in leadership roles within organized sports for almost every year of play.
These days my main focus in the game revolves around building in creative mode. I almost always build alone, as building in Minecraft feels like a task between the mind and the fingertips (as artsy as that sounds). I also tend to take long looks at my creations, before and after, thus rendering me a bit of a slow builder. Side note: I tend to work best when given size limitations as my mind tends to wander while building, keeping it at bay with limitations definitely helps me see my set goal (not to say I can't work if I was given an entire map, just don't expect it to be anything small)... Though I would be able to cope with a team, I feel as though my mind would wander off swaying further and further from the original idea/outlines (as I stated before). But I digress, my works at times have become much more than what I am able to handle, making a team a valuable asset.
(I've attached a screenshot of one of my better builds that I could find...)
Lastly I used to be fairly adept with GFX and such, banners/advertisements being my specialty (though when I feel it, I can make a fairly decent logo, ignore my avatar as it is nearly 4 years old...).
Thank you for taking the time to read through this wall of text, do consider wisely!
