Hello everyone! Conquest of Alteran is once again in development. After a year away from MC, I have come back to continue development of my personal project, Conquest of Alteran. As I now have the funds to sustain the project myself, I will no longer be reliant upon outside donations, and as such, I am ready to launch the projects server development as soon as I have a team together. But before that, what exactly is Conquest of Alteran?
Conquest of Alteran is a Medieval Fantasy, Serious Roleplay Server, designed from the ground up to allow maximum player freedom and control within a deep, rich roleplay environment, within the confines of the servers rules. Feel like taking over the spawn city of Aeros? Gather your army and let the battle begin! Want to be a race that doesn't yet exist? Then create it! Virtually nothing is "off limits", so long as no rules are being violated. The rules are also designed from the ground up to allow maximum player freedom, so far as is possible while maintaining an equal, fun opportunity for all.
The server is set in a fantasy world created from scratch by myself, and expanded upon by my previous and future team, set in the untamed lands of Alteran, a province that has been plagued by pirates, raiders, bandits, and the undead for generations, leaving the land almost completely unsettled until the past century. The province is dominated by a single city, Aeros, an island city state, made wealthy from a long history of trade and piracy alike.
Players will find themselves in the city of Aeros when they first join, delivered by boat and each attracted to the wild, untamed province for their own personal reasons. No doubt, nearly all of the arrivals are attracted in-part due to Alteran's history of being a free province of self made men, and Aeros's famous wealth. Players will quickly find themselves being submerged in Alteran's world of deep, rich political intrigue and factional conflicts, likely finding themselves drawn to one side or another in at least one of the various conflicts.
Will they dedicate themselves to serving another's cause, or take up their own banner in the battle for supremacy? Will they fight to protect the weak, or to exploit them? Shall they rise to glory, or succumb to being just another unremembered face? The choice is theirs to make, in Conquest of Alteran.
What Conquest of Alteran needs:
.
Plugin Manager
First and foremost, we need a Plugin Manager (Or two). Someone who is experienced with various minecraft plugins; Has the aptitude to learn new ones; Is mature and can speak fluent English; Hard working; And works well both independently as well as within a team. They will be responsible for installing plugins, troubleshooting and fixing any plugin errors or compatibility issues, establishing the plugins to operate in the way that I so choose, and keeping the server as up to date as possible. Preferred candidates will also have the expertise to potentially create new plugins as needed, to help improve the server for players.
Builders
Next, we need builders. Individuals with unique and interesting themes that will compliment Conquest of Alteran; City Walls and Towers, Keeps, Guild Homes, Residences, Lost and Ancient Ruins, Beautiful Landscapes, Dangerous hand made Dungeons, Fountains, "Royal" Gardens, Markets, Clan Longhouses, Seemingly Random Lumberjack's homes out in the Wilds, or anything else that you feel would fit in with the basis of Conquest of Alteran and help bring our world to life.
.
Artists
We could use some Artists for the server for doing things such as: Graphics for the Forums, Signature's to advertise the Server, Custom Pictures to help with server events as time goes on, Character designs for any characters that become renowned within the server such as Kings and Queens or Warlords, and other miscellaneous needs as they arise. We'll happily accept both digital and hand-drawn Artists, whether you can do multiple area's or just one.
.
Lore Writers
While I am a skilled Lore Writer myself and I will be handling most, if not all, of the core lore for the server, we can definitely use some extra hands on deck in this department. Have a spooky story about the Lumberjack that murdered his wife that we can tie to a Lumberjack's long-abandoned home in Alteran? Or perhaps a backstory about the hidden romance between a Prince and a Bar Wench that lead them to elope together, leading to the founding of one of Alteran's two beginning Empires? Anything at all that you think will help bring life and RP depth to our server, we'll happily take a look at and work with you to make it fit the server if we think it's viable.
.
Administration
The very core to any successful server has always been and always shall be a Capable Administration team. Without a Capable Administration team, Rules are not upheld. When Rules are not upheld, the server's objective begins to fall apart. When a servers objective falls apart, it ceases to be what it set out to be, and the server itself may as well have been lost. As such, I am looking for the best, the brightest, and the uncorruptible who are willing and able to work with me to maintain the heavy hand of merciless yet fair justice within Conquest of Alteran. It is my utmost objective to maintain a fair, kind place for players to come and relax, to play, and to enjoy the world we're so pain-stakingly building to set out before them. This is not an "can i has teh admun plz?" type of outfit; You must thoroughly impress me and prove your judgement through a trial of scenario's. From this, I need both Moderators and Admins alike. Your responsibilities, if chosen, will include: 1. Investigating reports of Rule Breaking. As an Admin, your first priority is to maintain order on the server, and your second priority is to play on the server and enjoy yourself. 2. Helping resolve OoC conflicts, whether they have begun to result in rule breaking or not. If things are starting to get heated and you are aware of them, it is your job as an Administration Member to step in and to attempt to resolve the situation, whether you are a Moderator or an Administrator. 3. Help foster a kind, helpful, and fun environment. As a member of the Administration team, you are to do your utmost to help out the community. This doesn't mean you have to stop playing the game to go help someone build their castle; That's your own personal choice. You play the same as everyone else. What it means is that if someone is in chat and has a question such as "How do I use the money plugin?" or "How do I make a bucket?" you are expected to answer them and help them out. You are to be shining beacons of the Community, not lonesome "Holier than thou" figures who keep to themselves. 4. You must be alright with following extensive Administration rules and regulations. Every Rule and Regulation I set in place is for an explicit reason and is to be followed at all times, including our "Who's been banned, for how long, by who, and why" form. Our Administration team operates Transparently, so that players can trust our Administration team and feel safe, and so that they realize we're just people too, none of this "We're Gods amongst men!" stuff that you see on other server.
.
Should you be interested in applying, please fill out the following form:
NOTE!: Before you fill this out, when I ask for Previous Experience, I want to know where you've been and what you did. Not just "Mod." I want to see "Moderator with ABC Roleplaying for 8 months. Left/Was removed due to: (Reason).

Update: The Project currently has 3 Plugin Managers, 1 Moderator, 1 Builder, 1 Lore Writer, 1 Community Manager, and 1 Administrator (Not including myself). We're still looking for virtually everything to help contribute to the project, as progress is well under-way but still has a long ways to go. Ideally, we'd like to have the server in an Open Beta by October 15th.

Another good server that I was staff on was a server called Sky-Craft. Sky-Craft was a popular factions server that I was mod on. It was up for two months and I learned a lot. Although it was a great experience, my best experience was running my own server for 2 months. I have less experience for lore writer but I believe I would still be a great one. I have done a little bit of lore writing for a couple servers. I also have played on a serious rp server and I understand how important Lore is and what quality it needs to be. I also have written things before and I am good at writing.

Previous Experience that is Applicable to your Desired Position(s):I've spent majority of my minecraft experiences engulfed in role play servers that mainly focused on medevial/Fantasy. through doing so it's allowed me to develop an acquired taste when it comes to building designs fitting that of a fantasy or medevial server. I feel that i am able to adjust medevial constructions to fit that of minecrafts ever adjusting landscape and would like to share what I am capable of with this server.
Define what In-Character and Out-of-Character mean:in character is a term used to define an action or word that someone's say that would fit that of their role play character, Out of character is essentially the opposite.
Anything else you wish to add:I look forward to hopefully assiting with the servers construction and home for a quick response so that we may begin immediately.
