just had surgery myself... Note to self, do not let routs break in you teeth... it hurts... and stitches in your mouth isnt very fun...
anyways im looking forward to getting on and finishing that military base! so many plans for it.
Hope you are doing well PDG, I know dem feels.
I have progressed from using a walker (like for old people) to a single crutch, and will be making an attempt at leaving my house (with assistance) to go see Wolverine this weekend. Still on a lot of meds for various purposes, and I have to wear one of these for 30 min a day:
(A bone growth stimulator, aka, a glorified magnet)
Basically it is a magnet with as much unnecessary molded plastic and extra parts as the manufacturer can get away with for the purposes of billing the poo out of insurance. The $4500 device (confirmed on the insurance info) includes what that picture shows, as well as a belt clip, velcro strips and extra padding, as well as it's own carrying case with custom foam molded interior, which also houses eight 9 volt batteries (each with custom foam slot in foam interior.)
I don't doubt the science behind using magnetic fields to promote bone growth, as it is actually highly used and supported. And my insurance covered the full cost of this. But this is basically a perfect example of why the USA's healthcare system is so effed.
Obviously some of my meds are making me ramble, but there's a status update on my state for you guys. I'm doing what work on the servers that I can, unfortunately a computer chair is not the best (or least painful) position for me to be in, so my level of work is still limited.
As a final note, any questions about the new 4 server system coming soon? We are NOT becoming a hybrid server, just to clarify. The information about the new servers on THIS thread is temporary. (After re-launch we will have 4 forum threads, each for it's own server, and this will once again become the creative thread.) Regarding chat, it will be set up such that it will be easy to communicate between servers, and to specific people on other servers, as well as enable/disable specific chat channels.
Yep it's like nightbot on twitch.tv, it can get annoying at times but its stupidly hilarious when you look at what it says. It's future a as well, so that makes it loads better
The only thing you couldn't like about him is when newbs figured out the words for him and spammed him.
I love you guys. And that is an amazing stormo and goliad pic gadge :3
A little update on my current state, and the state of the server:
I'm sorry for my unresponsiveness since my surgery. I haven't been on my computer much as of recent. I'm still on fairly heavy meds, but not as much as I was. Still using crutches to walk. Doctor said recovery period is usually 1-2 months, but I guess that is best case scenario, which was very misleading. Recent visit, he said it could be up to 4 or 5 months before I am back to normal.
I was expecting to be able to move back out from parents before the relaunch (because of doctor's misreadings) unfortunately the internet speeds here aren't good enough to host a legit server anymore. They aren't horrible, but they are about half of what I had at my apartment.
So my plan is to launch a white-listed public beta, where Guests+ are auto white-listed, until I move back out. This way the server(s) can be up and we can actively develop the new things and setup the other features while people can still play, and once I move back out, we will fully relaunch, and remove white-list.
That being said, I do feel a shift in my recovery as of the last 2 weeks. Another med shift (step down in strength and number) as well as being able to tolerate more physical therapy and walking makes me feel like I'm starting to recover faster.
Don't worry, we will relaunch soon. I'm just really sorry my health has affected the server like this :/
1. My recovery is going quicker! Finally off crutches! (for the most part) And seeing daily improvements in my mobility. I can now dedicate more time to server work.
2. I have purchased www.OrbitingMeadows.com. This means that we will have a website when the server relaunches, as well as a permanent named IP for server connections in minecraft.
3. I just finished ordering all of the parts for the physical OM server build. They should be here in 5-7 business days, and I will be able to start moving the in-production servers to their permanent environment.
The soon to be OM server specs are:
- 4.0GHz 8 core processor
- 16GB of DDR3 1866 RAM
- 120GB SSD with 540MB/s read and 410MB/s write speeds (for the OS, server files, data, and maps)
- 1TB HDD 7200RPM (for the server, plugin and map backups)
Once the new server is built I can begin the major parts of getting the server up and running (we are switching from windows to linux)
Glad to see all of the enthusiasm! And again, apologies for the server being down. I miss playing as much as all of you, but this process will ensure a long and sustained future for the Orbiting Meadows community.

You have to fill out proper paperwork first
