Why do you want to play on this server?: I've fallen out of the minecraft roleplay community; I'm not going to deny that. But recently memories that I've had playing on other serves happened to make their way back into my mind, so I made a skin and decided to give it a shot.
Also I think we all can admit the medieval-fantasy theme has been manslaughter'd by the other servers.

Character's signifying traits and attributes: Michael, more commonly known as Crow, has a bad case of wanderlust. He cannot get enough of the thrill of adventure and the freedom of the open road. Unfortunately, the long periods of isolation led to a minor development of social awkwardness, causing him to usually remain silent around people he doesn't know that well. He mainly values his hat over his own life, once saying "It's not that I don't mind you touching the hat. I just hope you don't mind losing that hand." He is usually seen wearing a black coat over a dark grey shirt with a dark read scarf wrapped around his neck along with a pair of tan cargo pants and black hiking boots.

Time: 3:18 P.M.
Location: 27 miles South of Seattle.
As you're walking north along a desolate highway to a few hundred meters ahead you can see 2 large black birds circling in the sky, to the east a few miles off large thunderheads can be seen. Hopeful to avoid the storm you begin to walk a bit more briskly scanning your area to find shelter from the rain. You observe a small light grey smoke plume coming from the median of the highway only a couple hundred meters away. Before approaching the scene you take a quick look in your bag (below is a list of your items). As you approach the scene you can see that it is a Emerald Trading Company Caravan that has been hit, the merchant lies dead near a slaughtered Brahman blood covers his clothing and a box of items is scattered near him. Of the two guards, one lies near a jersey barrier; empty shell casings from the cowboy repeater are scattered around the body. The other guard is struggling to pull himself upright using the one of the carts wheels, his leg has been blown off below the shin and is now nothing but a bloody mix of singed skin and asphalt.

What do you do?: Crow scans the landscape around him, taking in the rather flat landscape for any obvious signs of an ambush. Satisfied that the coast is clear, to his given knowledge at least, he holsters his 10mm and slowly approaches the wounded man with his hands in the air. The man hears Crow approaching and turns the best he can and raises a worn 9mm toward the man in black, causing him to stop a few meters away from the wounded guard.
After a brief silence, Crow calls "So are you going to blow my head off, or are you going to let me help you?" The guard sighs and lowers his pistol. A few moments and a brief conversation later, Crow and the guard set off together in search of a place to camp for the night; the guard being carried on Crow's back, and the wanderer loading his new cowboy repeater with what little ammo was left on the dead guard.
Character biography (At LEAST 2 paragraphs):
"Don't get much business around these parts, do ya?" Crow said to his friend, the bartender, as he fiddled with the radio.
"Nonsense!" Victor the bartender cried cheerfully. "I get plenty of customers from the road!" Crow stole a glance from the old radio to look around the otherwise empty room. He glanced back to his bar-tending friend and raised an eyebrow.
"Fine, you win. I suppose it wasn't the best of locations to set up my inn."
"It's not so bad. I found the place; even stayed the night." Crow grunted as he screwed on the back panel. He flipped the radio back up-right and pushed a button, filling the room with the slow, soothing voice of Louis Armstrong.
"Well done, my friend! That'll boost business for sure!" Victor cheered. Crow sat back in his chair and took a swig from his bottle of Sunset Sarsaparilla, feeling proud of his handiwork.
"That's one part of my rent paid." Crow sighed as he adjusted his hat. "How many caps do I owe ya now, Vic?"
"Just a story, my friend." The bartender chirped. "How did a handyman come to wander the cold and harsh wasteland we call home?"
Crow sighed. "Fine, but get me another sarsaparilla first....
"I'll warn you, my story is rather dull. It begins in a small town called Riverside; famous among the wanderers as a place that is home to -all. Seriously, the most exciting thing that happened in that town was when the town's doctor accidentally killed a death claw by shooting it in the eye with a wild, lucky-as-hell shot. I was raised by my father, the original handyman. He taught me everything I know about fixing things. But the one thing he didn't teach me was how to shoot a gun.
"I honestly didn't mind the quiet life of Riverside. The townsfolk were always kind and the surrounding land was breathtakingly beautiful; it was if God himself had come down from his golden throne to make his latest masterpiece. And of course being the son of the town know-it-all had it's benefits; everywhere I looked I saw the fruit of my labor as people gathered around a radio or kept dry during the rainy season. But even with all of this, it just felt like something was missing.
"I was sixteen when I left Riverside. I read about the rest of the county in various books in the schoolhouse, the different cities that dotted the landscape and the thrill of adventure left my mind exploding into a mess of wonder and awe. It was then where I found my calling. Unfortunately, word of my departure spread quickly through the town. They threw me a big farewell party when the day of my parting came around. The school teacher and a few of the women gave me a backpack full of supplies; the men gave me a hand-carved walking stick and a few basic tools; the mayor even attended and gave me his revolver, making me promise to tell others I meet about the town in hopes that someone will come to visit.
"Then my father pulled me aside. After a long silence, he embraced me. Then he took his hat and placed it on my head, saying 'I want you to promise me one thing, and one thing only, my boy. When you feel as if you have seen enough of the world, I want you to come right back through that gate and return this hat to me. Even if I'm dead I want you to return this to me; leave it on my grave for all I care. I simply wish for you to come back home.'
"Since then, I have wandered long and far across the wasteland. I've seen friendly faces and hell alike. I've killed some and saved some; loved some and hated some. But no matter what I do, or where I may be..." Crow let out a sigh and tipped his hat, "...the end will always justify the means."

What do you do?:
Intrigued Floyd approaches ignoring the struggling man and starts to loot the remains of this small caravan.
Guard: Hey! Gimme a hand…*cough* will ya?
Floyd looks at the guard right into the eyes and returns to his salvaging.
Guard: Hey fu…*cough* face! You think you can just ignore me?!
Floyd turns around quickly and sits right next to the dying guard.
Floyd: On the contrary good man, the name’s Floyd but considering your disposition I doubt the names matter.
Floyd lights a cigarette and put it straight in the man’s mouth. He takes out another and lights it for himself.
Guard: So? You gon’ help me pal? I'm kinda dyin’ here!
Floyd: Yeah, see I noticed and there’s nothing I can do for you.
Guard: But I don’t wanna die!
Floyd: I can try something if you stop yelling…
Guard: Anything, please!
Floyd takes out his first aid kit and starts searching through it. He grabs something and smiles at the man. He gets up and goes kneel behind the man.
Floyd: It’s gonna a sting a bit but after that I’ll be able to do what I need to do without you screaming and whining.
Floyd puts the scalpel to the man’s throat and draws a perfect line from an ear to the other. The guard grabs his throat in panic as he bleeds to his death. Floyd wipes the little blade on the man’s cloth and goes back to his scavenging. A couple minutes pass until he finishes. He finally gathers his things and flips a cap on the dead man before leaving with his newly acquired goods.

Let’s start at the beginning I guess. I was born 39 years ago in a hole in NCR territory. My mother, bless her soul, was the kind of girl that works in bars in such holes, if you get what I mean. My father was a… how can I put this… a piece of ! There we go. He was a “merchant” and he made his money selling overpriced to people who needed it the most. He was a drunk, a wife-beater and a crook. I don’t need to write you a goddam novel about my childhood there’s nothing interesting there. Anyway, in 2270 something I was still with my poor mother and my father when it finally happened. My father, drunk as usual, beat the out of my mother again and I snapped. I had been planning this for a while but never had the guts. So when he came for me I shoved a knife in his throat. I looked at him suffocating on his own blood, making inhumane sounds while he was trying to keep a grip of this world. I left him there and went to see my mother, she was unconscious and she bled as much as my father. I tried to wake her up or get a glimpse of life but after hours of trying, I realized she was dead even before my father hit the ground. I buried her there, in the middle of nowhere, packed a bunch of stuff and started walking toward some trading post I knew wasn't far. So I walked for a goddam while, god knows how long, but I finally arrived somewhere. It wasn't where I was headed because I couldn't read maps for back then but I was glad to see some people.
At first I thought it was some kind of caravan post but I quickly realized it was a Follower of the Apocalypse outpost. I stayed a while; I overstayed my welcome some would say. It wasn't because of the food or the security but obviously because of a girl. She wasn't really a follower but her daddy was like the big man there. She was my first love I guess, and quickly people started to suspect something was going on between the both of us. The Big Man didn't like that, not one bit. So imagine his reaction when he caught me sneaking out of her tent. I didn't exactly leave on my own terms and lost all I had, well except my physical integrity, which I guess was a miracle. He didn't follow me far but I knew I couldn't back, no , so I joined a group of traders going toward New Vegas to try my luck at the casinos.
That was like 10 years ago if I remember well. When I arrived there I continued working for the traders until I met a guy named Sully. Sully was a real scumbag, but the good kind of scumbag. He was a real casino king pin. Caps seemed to be pouring out of his pockets. Just between you and me though, he was no lucky guy, he was just a goddam good cheater. Always longing for easy and fast money I started working for him. It wasn't a totally “legal” gig but we live in the wastelands so I guess laws are a pretty blurry concept. Let’s just say I was the tax collector for Mr. Sully, and you didn't want to owe money to the boss. I learned how to cheat, fire a gun and beat the out of people but most importantly I learned how to lie. This was a really good time for me; I had money, girls, respect and pretty much whatever I wanted. This was too good to last though; Mr. Sully started trying to push me out. So like every bum I tried to play someone with a better hand than me. I tried to get rid of Sully and he didn't appreciate it, once again I was on the run. I had now nothing, once more, and more blood on my hands. I headed north to find some other place to settle. I finally came around Seattle; I guess it’d have to do. I heard big money was moving in this city so I guess I’d have to start over again, here. Who knows what I would have to do to get my hands on some caps one again, but no worries for me I’ used dirty work. After all, the ends justify the means…
PS: Im not entirely satisfied about my back story so I might tweak it a bit, but that's that for now. Also while Im at it, what's your rules about multiple characters and/or changing character ?
I wonder how the roleplaying will be exactly handled on this server? I mean, if somebody is acting very out-of-character, would there be recourse? Say, for example, my character had an excessively low charisma (Let's say 1 or 2) and I was able to convince someone to do something they wouldn't otherwise do in-RP. Would their be any repercussions for what was basically breaking character like that, or...?

What do you do?: The trader shakes as he struggles to get up. Jake looked on at the injured merchant; feeling sympathy but also suspicion. He may be young, but he's roamed the wastes long enough to know to be wary of traps. As cold as it sounded to him, only a foolish man would run up to him to give aid, as it would be perfect bait for a stick up. He equipped his gun; his finger not too far from the trigger just in case. "H-hey buddy... Think you could give me a hand? Hahahaha!" his laugh mixed with tones of pain and horror, as if the trader couldn't entirely wrap the idea around his head, that his leg had just got blown off. Jake kept looking on; scoping out the area. He doesn't see anything suspicious, so he decides to slowly approach the man. "What happened here?" Jake inquired to the merchant. "Some... Some ******* kids... Raiders or whatever the ?... The c-came and k-killed my partner and-" "And blew your leg off." Jake finished his sentence for him. "Exactly. They then... continued to me... over, and looted all my ! Oh... B-but I guess that's the le... least of my worries now..." Jake could already tell the Merchant didn't have more than a few minutes left to live. He already lost a lot of blood, and was showing signs of passing out. "Look pal... Wait, y-ya got a name?" "It's Jake Allens," Jake figured it didn't matter if he let the man know who he was; he didn't have much time left anyway. "And what would be your name stranger?" "Uhhmm... It-it's Paul... Paul Werner. Look Jake, I know I don't got mu-much time left, so I kinda wanna get this over with... So I'm gonna ask you to d-do me two fa-favors..." Paul began breathing heavily, coughing with every few breaths. "I want y-you to firstly... Put a bullet in my head. I-I'd rather die quick than f-find out how much longer I can last sitting on this pavement. And two, I w-want you to... to..." "What? To do what?!" Jake yelled trying to get Paul's attention. He always had a sort of code of honor, to have respect for the dead and dying. Even though he had never met Paul before prior to this, Jake felt it would be best to at the very least listen to his dying words. "I want you... to find whoever the hell did this to me and my partner... and give them hell... Or at least pay someone who will" "Well, I suppose that'd give me something to do," He laughed to himself. "But how do I find them?" Paul took a deep breath and responded, "I heard them... talk about heading due east, to their gangs camp... Please... I had a good life, with... Good friends and they took... that from me... They deserve hell..." Jake looked into Paul's eyes; he felt great sympathy towards him. He too knows what it's like to lose a life you loved unfairly. He nodded, "Don't worry Paul. I'll see to it that those guys wont be able to hurt anyone again." "Good... Thank you stranger... Now... Please... Let's get this over with..." Jake held up his rifle; pointing it towards Paul's head. Paul clenched his eyes, tears falling down his face. "Sorry, Paul." Jake said, before pulling his trigger. Now that Paul lied dead, and that Jake had a promise to keep, he holstered his rifle, looted whatever supplies that were left, and headed due east.
Character biography (At LEAST 2 paragraphs): Jake Allens was born and grew up with his Father in a small shack house a few miles from the Seattle metropolitan area. His mother died when he was just three years old, and he was born with permanent blindness in his left eye. His father struggled to take care of his only son alone. Although they had hardships, Jake and his father loved each other very much and looked out for one another. They had little in the way of caps, but got by hunting game. Most of the game was Mole Rats, Wild Dogs and Bloatflies, but every once in a while they would find Yao Guais and Mirelurks.
His father noticed that Jake was handy with a rifle at an early age, and even though he was blind in one eye, Jake could hit targets hundreds of feet away. This kind of skill with a weapon got Jake and his father out of a number of sticky situations, like if the game they were hunting overran them, or if they encountered a Raider ambush. On one occasion however, while Jake was 17 and he and his father went out on another hunting run, the two decided to split up and try to catch game separately. After a few hours, Jake decided to collect his game and return to his father. Unable to find him at the shack at first, he searched for his dad. Perched atop a cliffed rock, Jake spotted his father being beaten by a group of slavers; about five of them. He could tell as along with the men beating his father, there was a Brahmin pulling a cart of caged people, with large collars around their necks. Jake knew that he had to act quick, or risk his father being captured into a life of slavery. He pulled out his rifle, and began shooting down towards the Slavers. Normally he would try to find a better position to take them down, but due to the sudden urgency, and the fact he trusted in his aim, he decided there was no time. He managed to take down two before the other three scattered. After a shoot out that must have lasted a little less than an hour, the other three slavers were dead. As he approached his father and the caged slaves however, Jake found his father lying down in a pool of blood. He had been shot in the crossfire. Jake held his father in his arms for what seemed like an eternity to him. He didn't have much time to mourn however, as he remembered the slaves that were trapped and broke open their cages. Receiving thank you's and gratitude from the now freed slaves, they stated they didn't have much to thank him for rescuing them, but decided to give him an old custom Vault Tech they had found back at their camp. Jake stated he didn't need anything form them, but they insisted. Jake thanked them, and mentioned to them a cave they could take refuge in a couple miles away that was well hidden. The people thanked Jake one last time and ran off. Now completely alone, Jake decided that there was nothing left for him in this area, and decided to wander, to try and find a new life for himself. After burying his father near the home he grew up in, he gathered whatever belongings he could and left. He now works as a sorta free lance gun for hire, so long as the people hiring him don't have despicable or evil intentions. Though he finds excitement and adventure in his new life, he still greatly misses his father and his old home. Now, who knows what people and things Jake will encounter, as he explores the ruins of the Emerald City, as well as many other venues. In this world however, as much as he hates to admit it, he may have to go outside his comfort zone and do questionable and possibly unethical actions in order to accomplish his goals. As the old saying goes however, the ends justify the means...

What do you do?: Crow scans the landscape around him, taking in the rather flat landscape for any obvious signs of an ambush. Satisfied that the coast is clear, to his given knowledge at least, he holsters his 10mm and slowly approaches the wounded man with his hands in the air. The man hears Crow approaching and turns the best he can and raises a worn 9mm toward the man in black, causing him to stop a few meters away from the wounded guard.
After a brief silence, Crow calls "So are you going to blow my head off, or are you going to let me help you?" The guard sighs and lowers his pistol. A few moments and a brief conversation later, Crow and the guard set off together in search of a place to camp for the night; the guard being carried on Crow's back, and the wanderer loading his new cowboy repeater with what little ammo was left on the dead guard.

"Don't get much business around these parts, do ya?" Crow said to his friend, the bartender, as he fiddled with the radio.
"Nonsense!" Victor the bartender cried cheerfully. "I get plenty of customers from the road!" Crow stole a glance from the old radio to look around the otherwise empty room. He glanced back to his bar-tending friend and raised an eyebrow.
"Fine, you win. I suppose it wasn't the best of locations to set up my inn."
"It's not so bad. I found the place; even stayed the night." Crow grunted as he screwed on the back panel. He flipped the radio back up-right and pushed a button, filling the room with the slow, soothing voice of Louis Armstrong.
"Well done, my friend! That'll boost business for sure!" Victor cheered. Crow sat back in his chair and took a swig from his bottle of Sunset Sarsaparilla, feeling proud of his handiwork.
"That's one part of my rent paid." Crow sighed as he adjusted his hat. "How many caps do I owe ya now, Vic?"
"Just a story, my friend." The bartender chirped. "How did a handyman come to wander the cold and harsh wasteland we call home?"
Crow sighed. "Fine, but get me another sarsaparilla first....
"I'll warn you, my story is rather dull. It begins in a small town called Riverside; famous among the wanderers as a place that is home to -all. Seriously, the most exciting thing that happened in that town was when the town's doctor accidentally killed a death claw by shooting it in the eye with a wild, lucky-as-hell shot. I was raised by my father, the original handyman. He taught me everything I know about fixing things. But the one thing he didn't teach me was how to shoot a gun.
"I honestly didn't mind the quiet life of Riverside. The townsfolk were always kind and the surrounding land was breathtakingly beautiful; it was if God himself had come down from his golden throne to make his latest masterpiece. And of course being the son of the town know-it-all had it's benefits; everywhere I looked I saw the fruit of my labor as people gathered around a radio or kept dry during the rainy season. But even with all of this, it just felt like something was missing.
"I was sixteen when I left Riverside. I read about the rest of the county in various books in the schoolhouse, the different cities that dotted the landscape and the thrill of adventure left my mind exploding into a mess of wonder and awe. It was then where I found my calling. Unfortunately, word of my departure spread quickly through the town. They threw me a big farewell party when the day of my parting came around. The school teacher and a few of the women gave me a backpack full of supplies; the men gave me a hand-carved walking stick and a few basic tools; the mayor even attended and gave me his revolver, making me promise to tell others I meet about the town in hopes that someone will come to visit.
"Then my father pulled me aside. After a long silence, he embraced me. Then he took his hat and placed it on my head, saying 'I want you to promise me one thing, and one thing only, my boy. When you feel as if you have seen enough of the world, I want you to come right back through that gate and return this hat to me. Even if I'm dead I want you to return this to me; leave it on my grave for all I care. I simply wish for you to come back home.'
"Since then, I have wandered long and far across the wasteland. I've seen friendly faces and hell alike. I've killed some and saved some; loved some and hated some. But no matter what I do, or where I may be..." Crow let out a sigh and tipped his hat, "...the end will always justify the means."

RP Scenario: (Use the scenario written below)
Time: 3:18 P.M.
Location: 27 miles South of Seattle.
As you're walking north along a desolate highway to a few hundred meters ahead you can see 2 large black birds circling in the sky, to the east a few miles off large thunderheads can be seen. Hopeful to avoid the storm you begin to walk a bit more briskly scanning your area to find shelter from the rain. You observe a small light grey smoke plume coming from the median of the highway only a couple hundred meters away. Before approaching the scene you take a quick look in your bag (below is a list of your items). As you approach the scene you can see that it is a Emerald Trading Company Caravan that has been hit, the merchant lies dead near a slaughtered Brahmin, blood covers his clothing and a box of items is scattered near him. Of the two guards, one lies near a jersey barrier; empty shell casings from the cowboy repeater are scattered around the body. The other guard is struggling to pull himself upright using the one of the carts wheels, his leg has been blown off below the shin and is now nothing but a bloody mix of singed skin and asphalt.

Intrigued Floyd approaches ignoring the struggling man and starts to loot the remains of this small caravan.
Guard: Hey! Gimme a hand…*cough* will ya?
Floyd looks at the guard right into the eyes and returns to his salvaging.
Guard: Hey fu…*cough* face! You think you can just ignore me?!
Floyd turns around quickly and sits right next to the dying guard.
Floyd: On the contrary good man, the name’s Floyd but considering your disposition I doubt the names matter.
Floyd lights a cigarette and put it straight in the man’s mouth. He takes out another and lights it for himself.
Guard: So? You gon’ help me pal? I'm kinda dyin’ here!
Floyd: Yeah, see I noticed and there’s nothing I can do for you.
Guard: But I don’t wanna die!
Floyd: I can try something if you stop yelling…
Guard: Anything, please!
Floyd takes out his first aid kit and starts searching through it. He grabs something and smiles at the man. He gets up and goes kneel behind the man.
Floyd: It’s gonna a sting a bit but after that I’ll be able to do what I need to do without you screaming and whining.
Floyd puts the scalpel to the man’s throat and draws a perfect line from an ear to the other. The guard grabs his throat in panic as he bleeds to his death. Floyd wipes the little blade on the man’s cloth and goes back to his scavenging. A couple minutes pass until he finishes. He finally gathers his things and flips a cap on the dead man before leaving with his newly acquired goods.

Let’s start at the beginning I guess. I was born 39 years ago in a hole in NCR territory. My mother, bless her soul, was the kind of girl that works in bars in such holes, if you get what I mean. My father was a… how can I put this… a piece of ! There we go. He was a “merchant” and he made his money selling overpriced to people who needed it the most. He was a drunk, a wife-beater and a crook. I don’t need to write you a goddam novel about my childhood there’s nothing interesting there. Anyway, in 2270 something I was still with my poor mother and my father when it finally happened. My father, drunk as usual, beat the out of my mother again and I snapped. I had been planning this for a while but never had the guts. So when he came for me I shoved a knife in his throat. I looked at him suffocating on his own blood, making inhumane sounds while he was trying to keep a grip of this world. I left him there and went to see my mother, she was unconscious and she bled as much as my father. I tried to wake her up or get a glimpse of life but after hours of trying, I realized she was dead even before my father hit the ground. I buried her there, in the middle of nowhere, packed a bunch of stuff and started walking toward some trading post I knew wasn't far. So I walked for a goddam while, god knows how long, but I finally arrived somewhere. It wasn't where I was headed because I couldn't read maps for back then but I was glad to see some people.
At first I thought it was some kind of caravan post but I quickly realized it was a Follower of the Apocalypse outpost. I stayed a while; I overstayed my welcome some would say. It wasn't because of the food or the security but obviously because of a girl. She wasn't really a follower but her daddy was like the big man there. She was my first love I guess, and quickly people started to suspect something was going on between the both of us. The Big Man didn't like that, not one bit. So imagine his reaction when he caught me sneaking out of her tent. I didn't exactly leave on my own terms and lost all I had, well except my physical integrity, which I guess was a miracle. He didn't follow me far but I knew I couldn't back, no , so I joined a group of traders going toward New Vegas to try my luck at the casinos.
That was like 10 years ago if I remember well. When I arrived there I continued working for the traders until I met a guy named Sully. Sully was a real scumbag, but the good kind of scumbag. He was a real casino king pin. Caps seemed to be pouring out of his pockets. Just between you and me though, he was no lucky guy, he was just a goddam good cheater. Always longing for easy and fast money I started working for him. It wasn't a totally “legal” gig but we live in the wastelands so I guess laws are a pretty blurry concept. Let’s just say I was the tax collector for Mr. Sully, and you didn't want to owe money to the boss. I learned how to cheat, fire a gun and beat the out of people but most importantly I learned how to lie. This was a really good time for me; I had money, girls, respect and pretty much whatever I wanted. This was too good to last though; Mr. Sully started trying to push me out. So like every bum I tried to play someone with a better hand than me. I tried to get rid of Sully and he didn't appreciate it, once again I was on the run. I had now nothing, once more, and more blood on my hands. I headed north to find some other place to settle. I finally came around Seattle; I guess it’d have to do. I heard big money was moving in this city so I guess I’d have to start over again, here. Who knows what I would have to do to get my hands on some caps one again, but no worries for me I’ used dirty work. After all, the ends justify the means…
PS: Im not entirely satisfied about my back story so I might tweak it a bit, but that's that for now. Also while Im at it, what's your rules about multiple characters and/or changing character ?

Character biography (At LEAST 2 paragraphs): Jake Allens was born and grew up with his Father in a small shack house a few miles from the Seattle metropolitan area. His mother died when he was just three years old, and he was born with permanent blindness in his left eye. His father struggled to take care of his only son alone. Although they had hardships, Jake and his father loved each other very much and looked out for one another. They had little in the way of caps, but got by hunting game. Most of the game was Mole Rats, Wild Dogs and Bloatflies, but every once in a while they would find Yao Guais and Mirelurks.
His father noticed that Jake was handy with a rifle at an early age, and even though he was blind in one eye, Jake could hit targets hundreds of feet away. This kind of skill with a weapon got Jake and his father out of a number of sticky situations, like if the game they were hunting overran them, or if they encountered a Raider ambush. On one occasion however, while Jake was 17 and he and his father went out on another hunting run, the two decided to split up and try to catch game separately. After a few hours, Jake decided to collect his game and return to his father. Unable to find him at the shack at first, he searched for his dad. Perched atop a cliffed rock, Jake spotted his father being beaten by a group of slavers; about five of them. He could tell as along with the men beating his father, there was a Brahmin pulling a cart of caged people, with large collars around their necks. Jake knew that he had to act quick, or risk his father being captured into a life of slavery. He pulled out his rifle, and began shooting down towards the Slavers. Normally he would try to find a better position to take them down, but due to the sudden urgency, and the fact he trusted in his aim, he decided there was no time. He managed to take down two before the other three scattered. After a shoot out that must have lasted a little less than an hour, the other three slavers were dead. As he approached his father and the caged slaves however, Jake found his father lying down in a pool of blood. He had been shot in the crossfire. Jake held his father in his arms for what seemed like an eternity to him. He didn't have much time to mourn however, as he remembered the slaves that were trapped and broke open their cages. Receiving thank you's and gratitude from the now freed slaves, they stated they didn't have much to thank him for rescuing them, but decided to give him an old custom Vault Tech they had found back at their camp. Jake stated he didn't need anything form them, but they insisted. Jake thanked them, and mentioned to them a cave they could take refuge in a couple miles away that was well hidden. The people thanked Jake one last time and ran off. Now completely alone, Jake decided that there was nothing left for him in this area, and decided to wander, to try and find a new life for himself. After burying his father near the home he grew up in, he gathered whatever belongings he could and left. He now works as a sorta free lance gun for hire, so long as the people hiring him don't have despicable or evil intentions. Though he finds excitement and adventure in his new life, he still greatly misses his father and his old home. Now, who knows what people and things Jake will encounter, as he explores the ruins of the Emerald City, as well as many other venues. In this world however, as much as he hates to admit it, he may have to go outside his comfort zone and do questionable and possibly unethical actions in order to accomplish his goals. As the old saying goes however, the ends justify the means...
