I have been playing on the server for a while, i was digging sand and i found a house. I raided it, mined for a while and then i was perma-banned after i died? this was about 24hrs ago. I would like to know why i was banned. -gemgamer@ShadowScales I think i raided him yesterday before i was banned, there was a diamond sword with knockback in one of the chests, and a hell of a lot more. Btw I died
so i went to CoT and found some dude who died and jacked his ****
he had alot of stuff, and the sign etting you back to the deseret says acces denied.
derp. can you fix it?
Bloody hell Personal_Appeal, I'm helping a noob get his footing and you, like the ******* you are killed me...
You probably killed Grey
What an asshole...
I expected this but I came down from the tower...

If it was you I will hunt you to the ends of Pandemonium and Kill you with an enchanted fish!
Redhawkz will make sure I get this enchanted fish as I am a friend of his!
I know this server is hardcore, but I thought the basic right to be nice to a noob was well known to all...
Obviously I was wrong...
Anyhow, I'm putting a bounty on him.
You will be rewarded with a diamond, plenty of iron, three stacks of stone, five of planks and five coal
You will get all of this if you find my single diamond sword as proof and hand it to me.
It has a Knockback I enchantment on it.
If I see him dying as a message and don't get this sword then I will grant you half, without the diamond of course
If you find his base and are convinced it is the real thing and filled with loot, you get two extra diamonds if adequate proof is given that it is his!
You may of course keep the contents of the base...
All I want is my diamond sword...
THAT IS IT!
I will inspect the base and possibly help you in it's demise.
You sicken me Personal_Appeal...

Man this is brutal. I can agree with what shadowscales was saying...everytime I log on someone just comes and kills me. Havnt even gotten wood yet. Nobody offers any tips whatsoever. It's really discouraging from a server I thought would be fun.

Mess with shadow, you mess with all of us. Personally, i wouldn't want to claim that bounty, but you know.. It's a dog eat dog server and I wouldn't mind facing a guy in full iron with a diamond sword. All about the strategy >: D.

I'll help you out with this post. I died 24 times on this server, each time with 12 hour bans. I have lived life 25 for over a week now and even though I don't play every single day, i'll give you some pointers.
1) When you enter the desert, the #1 thing you need is wooden planks. There are oasis's around the desert and tree's may be there, but take heed, players are among those areas. Also there are lumbar planks scattered on the desert, but it's true that these resources can be drained, so here's what I would do.
Kill zombies with the finishing attack with your BAREHANDS. Doing this, you will get frequent apple drops, wooden swords (that durability goes by pretty quickly) and lumbar planks. The BEST way to kill zombies is while the zombie is chasing you, place a block in its way. Normally zombies would jump over it, but on this server, zombies try to track u down and will go around the block or destroy it. Zombies will jump over the block when it was already in place while it's chasing you. So lure zombie, place block, while its trying to destroy block or go around it, kill it asap, when it gets knocked back, it will jump over the block. This method guarentee's you not to lose any health when fighting zombies 1 on 1.
Kill spiders with a weapon for sampling drops. On this server, samplings usually drop at least 1 or 2 samplings per tree, but sometimes not drop any. When you cut down a tree, the better the tool, the higher chance of lumbar plank, sticks and wood drops. Further in the game when you get your own safe base, getting "wood" is usually good because you can put that in a furnace for charcoal and make torches, which is a MUST for dungeons. But to make a long story short, spiders will drop samplings for you to plant them in dirt areas and harvest lumbar planks. It's very challenging, there is no safe place to harvest tree's outside your base and may take several days for them to grow, but it's required if fighting zombies for lumbar planks is too risky. Protip: Let the leaves fall, higher chance for apple and sampling drops.
2) Once you got lumbar planks (and some food would help), make a chest to store your stuff. Your chest should be hidden under the desert surface at least 5 blocks, but 10 blocks is highly recommended. Once you store your stuff, screen shot the chest, hide it using sand from creeper explosions and write down the coords (title it "hidden chest in pandemonium" so you don't mix it up with other coords like i have lol). Xrayers come in and out of this server and get perm banned daily, if your stuff get's stolen from obvious xray, report it to a admin (black highlighted names like hal or redhawk) and I'm sure they will help you.
3) Wooden planks can make wooden tools, used to block zombies (can't break wooden planks) and be used for a lot of things hehe. But there's one item you need over everything if u want to survive, and that is a bucket. Buckets is the only way to make a farm in your base and make a smooth stone generator. Smooth stone generator is pretty simple, Have water placed on the bottom and have lava poor on top of it, that makes smooth stone. Cobbelstone is the result of water pooring on top of lava and only iron + tools can mine cobbelstone, remember that . Because lava buckets r disabled on this server, you have to rely on goin to the side of a lava volcano with your water bucket, a lot of sticks, one stone pickaxe and one crafting box. With that, you can get stacks of cobbelstone in no time. But you can't go anywhere without iron ore right? So i'll throw in some more tips.
With the wooden planks you currently have, you have to find stone first. It's more rare to find stone than wooden planks because people need stone more than wooden planks. And even with that, your not guarenteed a cobblestone drop even when you mine one, you may have to find 10 for 3 cobblestone drops for your stone pickaxe. But as long as you get the stone pickaxe, that's a achievement, remember that. From this point, u got 3 choices. Store your stone pick and take no risk at finding more stone with your wooden pickaxes, OR continue mining with your stone pick to get more cobblestone and then store your stone pick when you got a extra one, OR you can use the stone pick to look for the iron you need.
Iron is very challenging to get (even for me atm). There's two ways to get iron. One is to look on the inner walls of a moss stone tower for occasional iron ore spawns and get that. There's no risk of mobs attacking you that way and it's the best way to get iron ore, other than asking for people for them. The second way to get iron is through chests found in dungeons or scattered in a tunnel. Dungeons are raided all the time and your not likely to find any, but that's NOT the problem, the problem is mobs. In order to do a dungeon, you need a leather set, half a stack of lumbar planks (at least) and a stack of torches. When you do a dungeon, you need a **** load of food, recommended lvl 20+ for +2 max hearts, leather set, stone swords, torches ect. You cannot tank a dungeon, it takes strategy. Consider all the mobs you face in a dungeon can kill you in 3 hits and a creeper explosion is kind of like 2 hits. There may be a lot of mobs and they can spawn all around you, so torches are a must (place them on the walls out of reach or mobs WILL knock them down). Considering your new, I don't recommend dungeons until you have your bucket, base, food farm, ect. Getting that bucket is valuable, never lose it.
Because getting iron is so difficult, I recommend asking people for help. It's so difficult that I don't expect any person to get to that milestone until they attempt it several times, but if you ask for help and somehow not get betrayed, get that bucket, make a base ect. THen you can earn your own iron and repay the individual. I got my bucket from shadowscales and because of that, I changed my game upside down, it's awesome.
4) X 666 Y 66 Z 666 is the portal to Pandemonium. A area with the motto "All you can eat." But if you think raiding dungeons is hard or even the process of fighting your way to Pandemonium is even harder, wait til you actually get to Pandemonium, its a lot harder. Unless you got full iron gear with a diamond sword, don't even bother going here, you'll die lol. So that's about it, main goal is Pand and then you achieved what not thousands of players have EVER achieved. Good luck, you'll need it. (Especially because of mercs...)
If you need any more help, feel free to ask.
P.S. Shouldn't have upgraded lol, can't play on server T_T. Oh well, the wait is worth it, however... Creepers will be a little harder to kill considering its AI lol. Hope my base didn't get raided xD.
The server has been updated with a massive update of about 2 weeks worth of features. Most of these updates are geared towards the enchanting process, enchantment effects, and enchantment drops.
There are a few notable changes here. The first is improved durability for wood, stone, and iron weapons. In vanilla, iron swords have 250 uses and iron axes only 125. Stone is only 120 for sword and 60 on axe. As you can see, they've all been beefed up here. This is to make enchanted low-grade weapons more viable. Diamond axe durability was increased slightly. Gold axe durability was increased substantially.
wood sword: 2 1/2 hearts, 150 uses
wood axe: 3 hearts, 100 uses
stone sword: 3 1/2 hearts, 250 uses
stone axe: 4 hearts, 150 uses
iron sword: 4 1/2 hearts, 450 uses
iron axe: 5 1/2 hearts, 300 uses
diamond sword: 6 1/2 hearts, 1100 uses
diamond axe: 8 1/2 hearts, 900 uses
gold sword: 9 1/2 hearts, 2100 uses
gold axe: 15 1/2 hearts, 600 uses
bow: 4 1/2 hearts, 385 uses
Other important damage modifiers:
+ 1/2 heart damage bonus earned every 25 player levels
+ 1 heart damage bonus from Eye of Ender for melee weapons
+ 2 hearts damage bonus from Eye of Ender for bows
This is just a fancy way of saying that weapon enchantments matter now. Mob health has been enhanced, but damage enchantments have been given significant upgrades. The idea is to allow your weapons to specialize against various mob types. Damage bonuses against various mob types can range from +20% to +700% damage now.
Enchantments Bane: Bonus damage vs Spiders, CaveSpiders, and Creepers Smite: Bonus damage vs Zombies, Skeletons, and Pig Zombies Sharpness: Bonus damage vs All Mobs and Players
Unlike vanilla Minecraft, you can now get interesting enchantment combos that stack together for an amplified effect. In vanilla, you can only have 1 damage enchant on a weapon. On the Pandemonium server, you can have 2 or all 3 of the damage enchants on a single weapon. Each one will stack together for added benefit.
Stacking Bonuses
Sharpness damage can act as a multiplier for your Bane or Smite damage as well.
If you have a sword with Smite 3 and Sharpness 2, you will get +150% damage vs Undead Mobs from the Smite 3 and then +30% damage vs all from the Sharpness 2 and extra damage on top from the armor piercing. All of your bonus damage from levels or special items such as Eye of Ender are amplified by these bonuses.
Damage Example
So if your base damage was 10, the Smite 3 would cause you to do 25 damage vs Undead (250% of normal damage). Stacking the Sharpness 2 damage on top, you now do 325% of normal damage, a total of 32 damage vs Undead in this scenario. This means that your Smite 3, Sharpness 2 sword will cut down Zombies, Skeletons, and Pig Zombies 3x easier than normal.
Armor Bonuses
In vanilla, armor can generally only have one type of protection enchantment. On the Pandemonium server, you can multiple protection enchantments that will stack together. For example, a helmet with Protection 2 provides an 8% damage reduction vs all damage. If your helmet also has Projectile Protection 4, this will provide 20% damage reduction from arrows. By having both, your helmet will block 8% of all damage first, and then another 20% of damage from arrows.
Armor enchantments block damage before it hurts the armor. This in effect provides a little durability bonus to the armor. Having Protection 2 on your helmet blocks the damage all of your armor pieces take by 8%. However, if you had Protection 2 on all four of your armor pieces, then your entire armor set would take 32% less damage and your health would take 32% less damage.
Number of Enchantments
The number of enchantments a weapon, piece of armor, or tool might have is influenced by the level of the enchantment you did. Most items will only have 1 or maybe 2 enchantments for lower leveled enchants. For high level enchants however, you're likely to see 3 or 4, or in very rare cases, 5 enchants on a single weapon. Similarly with armor, you might only see 1 enchantment at lower levels, but you'll start to see combinations of 2, 3 or possibly even 4 enchants at higher levels.
Swords:
level 0 - 24: 1 enchantment
level 25 - 49: 1 typically, sometimes 2
level 50 - 74: 1 - 2 typically, sometimes 3
level 75 - 100: 1 - 3 typically, sometimes 4, and 5 on very rare occasions
Axes / Tools:
level 0 - 24: 1 enchantment
evel 25 - 49: 1 typically, sometimes 2
level 50 - 74: 1-2 typically, sometimes 3
level 75 - 100: 1-3 typically
Bows:
level 0 - 24: 1 enchantment
evel 25 - 49: 1 typically, sometimes 2
level 50 - 74: 1-2 typically, sometimes 3
level 75 - 100: 1-3 typically, and 4 on rare occasions
Armor:
level 0 - 24: 1 enchantment
evel 25 - 49: 1 typically, sometimes 2
level 50 - 74: 1-2 typically, and 3 on rare occasions
level 75 - 100: 1-3 typically, and 4 on very rare occasions
Helmets also have a rare chance for an extra enchantment.
Unfortunately, the enchantment qualities are not totally up to date yet for Armor and Tools. The update was decided to be rolled before these were finished. These will follow in the next few days. In the mean time, the number of enchantments on armor and tools will be similar to vanilla.
To keep the game balanced and interesting, enchanted weapons, armor, and tools are now much more accessible than normal. This is accomplished through three venues:
1. Mobs
Enchanted gear is now dropped on occasion by a variety of different mobs.
2. Enchanting Shrines
There are two enchantment shrines in the Desert of Despair and one located in the Sea of Souls for players in the Pandemonium area. These places offer enchanting to players without access to their own enchantment table. Players are unable to place or destroy various types of blocks in these areas, leaving them accessible to many. However, you won't be able to upgrade the enchanting in these areas with bookshelves. You may also wish to heed warning that these are likely to be prime hunting grounds for well equipped players seeking a little blood.
3. Higher Level Enchanting without Bookcases
You can now do up to enchanting level 25 (player level 50) enchantments without the need for any bookshelves. The full 30 bookcases are still necessary to reach enchanting level 50 (player level 100) enchants. In vanilla, the cap is only level 5 enchanting without bookshelves, thus making this a nice little perk.
You can now have more enchantments and more possible enchantment combinations with a new enchanting model that can use up to 100 player levels for max enchants. Each level of a potential enchantment displayed in your enchanting table menu represents a cost of 2 player levels. In addition, enchanting is now based on your total player xp instead of just an arbitrary number of levels. Thus, you are not penalized for doing enchantments while being higher leveled.
Enchantment Cost Based on Item Type
You can now enchant lower quality gear at a reduced enchanting cost.
Gold Gear and Bows require 1 - 100 levels for the enchantments
(enchantment values are still displayed as 1 - 50; every level in enchanting represents 2 player levels in cost)
Diamond Gear can be enchanted at 25% reduced cost
Iron Gear can be enchanted at 50% reduced cost
Leather, Wood, and Stone Gear can be enchanted at 75% reduced cost.
Due to a bug in Bukkit, the enchantment table can not be modified to use enchants higher than level 50. This is why each level displayed on your enchantment table represents to player levels of cost. In addition, the cost is modified by the type of item you wish to enchant. To help make this easier, whenever you place an item in the enchantment table, you will be shown your current Enchanting Level instead of your Player Level. The number of possible levels that you are able to enchant for a particular item given your current player level are represented by this Enchanting Level.
Enchantment cost example 1
Let's say you are level 70.
Now let's say you open the enchantment table, put in a particular item, and the level bar at the bottom of your screen now shows up as level 40.
This means that your 70 player levels are able to enchant up to a level 40 enchant for that particular item.
Enchantment cost example 2
Okay, so you're level 70. Now as you know by this point, it takes more and more XP to advance ahead each level. At level 70, you've accumulated approximately 9,000 XP.
Let's say you want to use 30 levels of XP on an enchantment. Well, 30 levels of XP is only about 1,700XP. Thus, you can get your enchantment and still have 7,300 XP worth of levels left over. This will leave you at level 63.
This is a nice little bonus alteration to the enchanting process to help make ongoing enchanting a more viable option for you.
Enchantment cost example 3
Ok, now let's say that you're ready to do that level 30 enchant and you want to put it on your iron sword. Since your sword is made out of iron, it'll cost you 50% less than normal. This means instead of spending 1,700 XP on the level 30 enchant, you only have to spend 850 XP. A loss of only 4 player levels.
Now remember, each level in the enchanter represents two player levels. So to select the level 30 enchant, pick the enchantment option that has a 15 next to it.
Enchantment Assignment
Enchantments on your items are assigned at random. However, unlike the vanilla where the enchantment is based on things like the enchantability of the item and so on, the higher level your enchant, the higher bias it will have towards placing at least one enchant nearer the level of the enchantment you are doing. This is to prevent scenarios like doing a level 100 enchantment only to be stuck with something like Bane 1 or Sharpness 1. Instead, at higher levels you're guaranteed at least 1 higher level requirement enchant on your sword.
The level requirement for each enchantment represents the minimum level your enchantment needs to be possibly obtain the given enchant. The requirements are based on player level cost. If you want to try and get an enchantment with level req 80 for example, then you'll need to select an enchantment that is at least level 40 in your enchantment table. This of course does not mean that you will get that enchantment but it does mean that you at least have a chance to get that enchantment now. The higher the level the enchant you are doing, the more likely for your item to obtain multiple enchantments. It also varies the probability of getting each of the various enchantments.
Swords
Sharpness 1: +20% damage vs All, level req 15
Sharpness 2: 1 heart armor piercing + 30% damage vs All, level req 30
Sharpness 3: 1 1/2 hearts armor piercing + 45% damage vs All, level req 55
Sharpness 4: 2 hearts armor piercing + 65% damage vs All, level req 80
Sharpness 5: 3 hearts armor piercing + 100% damage vs All, level req 100
Fortune 1: +20% drop chance, level req 25
Fortune 2: +35% drop chance, level req 50
Fortune 3: +60% drop chance, level req 100
Axes can also obtain the efficiency enchantment. However, this has no impact on combat use.
Bows
Power 1: +25% damage vs All, +1/2 heart armor piercing, 10
Power 2: +60% damage vs All, +1 heart armor piercing, level req 25
Power 3: +120% damage vs All, +2 hearts armor piercing, level req 50
Power 4: +180% damage vs All, +3 1/2 hearts armor piercing, level req 75
Power 5: +250% damage vs All, +5 hearts armor piercing, level req 100
Flame 1: Adds 8 seconds of fire ticks, level req 50
Armor Piercing
As it sounds, armor piercing damage will ignore all armor and armor enchantment reductions. An item with armor piercing of 3 hearts, will always deal 3 hearts when it hits the target on top of whatever the normal damage is from your weapon. To Mobs that do not have armor, the armor piercing damage just acts like a critical hit doing an extra 50% of whatever the armor piercing amount is.
Apply Weakness
Weakness reduces the target's damage for it's next 5 attacks. Apply Weakness IV for example will reduce the target your damage is able to do by 40%. This applies to All Mobs and Players and not just the Zombies, Skeletons, and Pig Zombies that are affected by the Smite damage bonus. Though less effective against a mob of targets, the Apply Weakness bonus can quickly turn a fight in your favor when fighting a target one on one.
Absorb Health
The Absorb Health bonus gives a chance to steal some of the target's health and heal you up to 10% of your maximum health. If your chance to absorb health hits, you will always gain 10% health up to your maximum total health. The target will in turn lose 1 heart of health that bypasses all armor.
Looting and Fortune
The Looting bonus applies to all rare loot drops including diamonds, gold, and enchanted gear.
As is with the other enchantable items, the level requirement shown for the armor enchantments is the minimum level your enchantment needs to be in terms of player levels in order to have a chance of obtaining the particular enchantment. Also as mentioned earlier, the damage reduction applied by the enchantment bonuses also reduces durability loss. The enchantment benefits from each armor piece stack together as a whole set to protect both your armor and your health. So for example, if all 4 of your armor pieces had Blast Protection 4, then you would receive 80% less damage and durability loss from explosions.
ARMOR
Protection 1: -5% damage vs all, level req 25
Protection 2: -8% damage vs all, level req 55
Protection 3: -11% damage vs all, level req 80
Protection 4: -15% damage vs all, level req 100
Fire Protection 1: -5% fire damage, level req 10
Fire Protection 2: -10% fire damage, level req 30
Fire Protection 3: -15% fire damage, level req 60
Fire Protection 4: -20% fire damage, level req 85
Respiration 1: Level 1 water breathing improvement and damage reduction from suffocation, level req 15
Respiration 2: Level 2 water breathing improvement and damage reduction from suffocation, level req 35
Respiration 3: Level 3 water breathing improvement and damage reduction from suffocation, level req 65
Aqua Affinity: Improves underwater mining efficiency, level req 65
As is with the other enchantable items, the level requirement shown for the armor enchantments is the minimum level your enchantment needs to be in terms of player levels in order to have a chance of obtaining the particular enchantment.

Aj i died too i was going down and got 1 shot by a skeleton wtf. get our stuff btw i killed a few mobs that got on before i got down, few diamonds there.
talk with hal to tele u there , the skeletons are buggy as fuk
The skeletons aren't buggy, but yes, they can shoot from a good distance and hit hard.
We don't do teleports on this server either. AJ's death was not from server lag either. Hopefully he can figure out what's going on. I told him to log out and fix it because he was lagging like a mad man client side.

Totally. Amazing. Job. I like this update, not only does it make my gamplay easier, but makes it a LOT more frightening as well, I love it. As for this quote, I just wanted to let you know that I fear bows now lol.
But I do like the public enchantment table, I play on the server when not many people are on anyways, that's my strategy. And even with that, i play the game like a meerkat, so I'm always cautious hehe. And mobs can drop enchanted gear also seems nice, but I hope I wouldn't have to rely on it. As long as it's not too common, then that sounds nice. But what would be nice to "add" would let mobs drop something like a iron pickaxe enchanted with barely any durability rarely. That would make the tool useful for newcommers to collect resources easier, but would be annoying for higher lvl players heh. Idk, but I do like the update, nice job ;).

Mess with shadow, you mess with all of us. Personally, i wouldn't want to claim that bounty, but you know.. It's a dog eat dog server and I wouldn't mind facing a guy in full iron with a diamond sword. All about the strategy >: D.
Dam it Grey stop dyinggggg!!! lmao.

Breakdown of XP per Level in Minecraft:
https://docs.google.com/spreadsheet/ccc?key=0ApQw57lbOBkHdEUzeEV5Q2liVmNRVTg5bWxrLUtWTnc
This will help those who are interested understand the difference of xp between levels.
-----------------------------------------------------------------
1. Weapon / Durability Updates
+ 1/2 heart damage bonus earned every 25 player levels
+ 1 heart damage bonus from Eye of Ender for melee weapons
+ 2 hearts damage bonus from Eye of Ender for bows
-----------------------------------------------------------------
2. Weapon Specialization
This is just a fancy way of saying that weapon enchantments matter now. Mob health has been enhanced, but damage enchantments have been given significant upgrades. The idea is to allow your weapons to specialize against various mob types. Damage bonuses against various mob types can range from +20% to +700% damage now.
Enchantments
Bane: Bonus damage vs Spiders, CaveSpiders, and Creepers
Smite: Bonus damage vs Zombies, Skeletons, and Pig Zombies
Sharpness: Bonus damage vs All Mobs and Players
-----------------------------------------------------------------
3. Enchantment Combos
-----------------------------------------------------------------
4. Access to Enchanted Gear
-----------------------------------------------------------------
5. How the New Enchantment Table Works
-----------------------------------------------------------------
6. Enchantment Guide: Weapons

Punch 1: Knockback 1, level req 25
Punch 2: Knockback 2 + 1 heart bonus damage, level req 60

-----------------------------------------------------------------
7. Enchantment Guide: Armor
ARMOR

Thanks very much :D.
