So i just did CQ for the first time in awhile and i only got unlimited strength 1 and i'm kinda confused since i never thought the buff was changed sooooo next time i think a "hey we changed this" would be nice :/
it also kinda makes CQ worthless since who cares about normal strength i mean those 8 min pots cost like 100bp. also the slowness is stupid since because of the insane guard buffs strength 2 is the only way we can beat guards and if we have slowness we cant ever run when they are in their invincible state after they opple so yeah i would rather appreciate it if you could make CQ worth doing again.

Hi Mario,
Thanks for the feedback. I have requested slowness to be removed from CQ. It's not needed anymore since STR+2 is now completely disabled from Convicted.
Also the quest might not be that useful anymore to Chaos users, but there is still some who does not have this luxury, so they can obtain this infinite str from this quest. STR+2 was removed due the fact it has been blacklisted a long time already. We can modify CQ buffs still someway, if you guys have anything in mind except, please let us know. (STR+2 is not an option anymore.)
dont restrict Chests in a donor plot thats just stupid
So removing the non-affecting item, compared to itemframes/chests, is stupid?
2048 chests. Dropped user's framerate to ~85
3200 Hoppers. User's framerate is ~120
Final Results/Benchmark:
Sure you can argue that hoppers can have items flow through them and that causes lag but unless the hoppers are continuously moving items non-stop then I think that argument is invalid.
I was banned around august don't remember exactly when
I should be unbanned, because the punishment for advertising has been changed from a permanent ban to a one day mute. It is due to this change in policy that I believe my punishment has been more than server, considering I have been banned for about 4 months.
Well the policy never changed recently, just been used more. You DO get perma banned for advertising on the second time or usually if the player is severely spamming the server. If the 1 day mute you're talking about is the one I did while I was on MineChat, I only did 1 day because the player wasn't spamming it. Player said the ip once, if they had been saying it more they would've gotten a longer mute. Now may I ask, did you advertise more than once? Did you spam "Join this server! Much better -> mc-convicted.org!" more than once in the chat? That comes into factor for the unban, along with the unban being Maaty's choice.

I think Perry here should be unbanned as well. I remember the server he advertised was not even a real server, and after being banned for this long, i doubt he will ever advertise anything ever again. He's a fun guy to play with and the community can only gain from having him back. Hope to see Perry back.

I was on the day D0gman125 was banned... He only put the link to the server into the chat once. He did not repeatedly type it in or "Spam the Chat". I believe the punishment for a one time offence is a one day mute. On top of that the server he was "advertising" does not even exist. D0gman125 has been banned for 4 months. According to the punishments for what he did he should not have even been banned int the first place. I vote for __D0gman125__ to be un-banned.

If you really care about playing on this server again, maybe you should consider writing your own appeal rather than copy & pasting someone elses. PS if you were banned in October, you would have been banned for roughly two months now, not four.
What that video proved is that inactive hoppers do not cause notable lag.
However, auto farms consist of redstone clocks and lots of other redstone stuff, which cause a lot of lag.
Apart from argueing this way, we can just look at the result: Do I get massive lagspikes in donor every few seconds? Yes. I also got those in tribe 1 after a similar farm had been built, which is certainly not a coincidence.
I do support limiting the number of item frames though, they also cause a lot of lag. (there's a reason why I restriced the massive maps to my library)
Edit: This is obviously a reply to Simply, I'm still not used to the new forums.
I already mentioned the hoppers in my previous. Inactive Hoppers by default would not drop framerate. Therefore, prohibiting the use of [a lot] hoppers vs allowing [a lot] of chests/item frames is counterproductive. [Staff/players] are essentially blaming the wrong target.
Now if you want to bring up redstone, that would be a different argument.
The argument here is:
1) Redstone (lag inducing) + Hoppers (None lag inducing) = low frame rate.
2) Staff response is to prohibit Hoppers because auto-farms use both, but as evident in the video, chests/itemframes/etc kill frame rate as well.
^--Logic does not make sense. Prohibiting excessive [chests/itemframes/redstone] would make more sense.
Your argument of redstone clocks in relation to auto-farms: Auto-farms use auto-detecting buds. They are not always on, powered on only when a block is detected and then moves whereas chests/itemframes are always there. The chests/itemframes will always affect framerate. But my point was never "auto-farms dont drop framerate", it was "Why do [staff] blame one entity (in this case, auto-farms w/ redstones + hoppers) and not the other cases?
And I proceed to your next point:
Do you get massive lagspike in donor vs tribe 1? Of course. But in your tribe 1, do you have the exact same donor buildings in place? Do you have all the donor plots next to each other w/ their chests, item frames, and other lag inducing items including color signs, warps, and commands? If so, then I will concede this argument but I have high doubts that tribe 1 has an exact replica of the donor plots. Therefore, it would be inaccurate to compare a relatively empty tribe to that of a fully packed donor region.
Again, I'm saying chests/item frames are the true culprits (along w/ redstone clocks). I am not saying that auto-farms do not drop framerate. I think it is unfair to target just "auto-farms." It would be fair to target excessive chests, itemframes, playerheads, and signs.
My suggestion:
1) Limit chests to [10-20 double chests] per plot
2) Limit itemframes. Do you really need an itemframe that shows a picture of a potion/sword/item when the shop sign says that particular potion/sword/item? I would consider the previous example of an excessive placement.
3) Limit playerheads. Alright so you're a playerhead collector. Whoopie do, here is a cookie for you. Now stop killing framerates.
4) Limit redstone concoctions to [5-10] per plot.
5) Donor plot owners can bypass the rules if they pay a fee/deed/whatever you want to call it of [amount like 1million BP?]. <--Would take money away from economy + if player wants more then they would have to pay more.
TLDR version:
1) Unfair to target solely auto-farms
2) It would be just to target excessive chests/itemframes/playerheads as they are the true culprit of frame-rate killers or to equally prosecute all culprits and not just one.
3) Refer to suggestions.
I'm just gonna reply with points now, too tired and ill to even think about structure:
1. About my tribe 1 example: Before an autofarm was built, there was a large amount of chests, I had absolutely no lag issues (I'm playing on a laptop). When the farm was built, I'd get small lagspikes every few seconds. This means that autofarms have a far larger effect on fps than a fairly large number of chests, and inactive hoppers and redstone (my factory).
2. I never read anywhere that hoppers would be banned, just auto-farms, either you are better informed than me, or you misinterpreted something.
3. Banning auto-farms will definitely reduce lag. We'll have to see how much that helps, and ban/limit more things as necessary. Item frames or heads would definitely something to look at.
Also, since I'm now staff: Nothing I say is official, that's just my thoughts.
Don't expect and eloquent post when I'm ill.
1. But first [players] need to specify what their builds are. Do you have the exact same number of hoppers as ones in donor? Same chests? same etc. When one conducts a scientific/logical experiment, they would need a control group. Your control group =/= donor control group. (and that was my main point.) Your group != the exact replica of donor. You are referring to what happens on your tribe under your conditions. I am referring to what happens to the entire donor region. I think a much more consistent/valid experiment would be for all players to have a frame-rate test world but unfortunately that would be difficult to try. (Suggestion: Unless [Convicted staff] makes a frame-rate test world on their own and share the warp to all players to try out)
2. It is more of an implied thing. What do auto-farms consist of? Automatic tools that collect [items], such as redstones, pistons, and hoppers to collect them when [player] is not around.
Again, my point was not only the hoppers. It was anything that can affect framerate significantly, such as the enormous amount of chests, itemframes, and signs (w/ and w/o color text).
3. I never said it would not help. I said we should include the limitation of chests, item frames, and etc. But I do not think there is much to look at. The video link that I have provided conducts a frame-rate experiment quite nicely. A smaller number of chests? -> Kills framerate. A higher number of inactive hoppers (by extension, an auto-farm), not as much framerate killer. But the video is inconclusive in regards to active redstone, pistons, and other parts of an auto-farm. Would be lovely for someone to test that.
Of course frame rate would depend on individual machines and player settings but I am saying that auto-farms should not be the sole (<--keyword) target, which in this current case it is. I am saying that [players/staff] should limit on [their] chests/itemframes/signs/auto-farm/etc.

3) How long have you been playing the server? About 2 weeks(Minimum of 3 days)
4) Have you read the Server, Prison, and Guard Rules? Yes
5) Any experience with the prison genre? I used to play on the new OP Prisons but I quit all of those and I only go on this one now.
6) What is your time zone? EST(I live in Florida, U.S.A)
7) Why are you the best choice for guard? I have seen how the job is and I have befriended some guards and what they tell me about guard is all good things. I am a great PvPer (if my computer isn't lagging), I have experience being admin on servers, and I know my way around the prison so I can show new (and current) prisoners around the prison. I would like to apply for Trainee-Guard to start. I need to get the hang of things on how things go with being a new guard.
Another thing I noticed is that around 5pm to 6:30pm there is a shortage of Guards. I know this might not mean anything but I am on at those times most days. During school, (Monday, Tuesday, Thursday) I can be on from about 2:30pm to about 5:30pm. On Wednesday, I can be on from 1:30pm to 5:30pm. On Friday, I can be on from 2:30pm all the way to midnight or maybe beyond. The reason i provide these is to show I can be on a lot during the week when some other Guards might have school. These time provides gave me a huge advantage of becoming an Jr.-Admin on another server. This is why, I think, I could be a good Trainee-Guard. Thank you for your time.
8) Do you understand that nagging Wardens in-game to read your app will result in immediate decline? Yes
9) What is your current prison rank? Free Rank
10) Do you understand that we will require a screenshot of this when/if you retire from guard? Yes

I don't think showing a picture of your minecraft files will help, you could have simply deleted the mod files.
Hey, if you were banned for advertising back when it was banable at first sight, you have no right to be unbanned because the policy has changed.
What if you commit a crime in real life that usually gets you a year in prison, but during your trail, they change the penalty to death penalty, he should still be punished with the punishment that was normal before the rule changed, because he was not avare of the new consequence, which was in this case death penalty.
