I'm inclined to agree, actually. I want tekkit to have a more industrial feel, whereas since EE was added it seems like it's more of a magical fantasy than industry. But at the same time, having options is nice, instead of just having industrialcraft as the primary means or progression. I'll think about it.
Just go into the EE configs and edit the line that says "machinefactor=16" to a lower number. Lower number=less speed.

I know, maby after playing like 20 hours on the server (this means being online for 20 hours:)), there is also a plugin for doing that automatically.
Yes but, why instal a plugin? you would only just have a quarry in 20 hours if that is all you built. Though I suppose that might help with griefing...
I dont think that EE should be dialed down... Its ment to be expensive, with great rewards. It takes up so much time to get up to a decent collector system, and thats just focusing all your things on getting the collectors... keep it how its ment to be.
Hey Matt, on the EE topic, I have one main valid reason why it should NOT be in the next map(or until the items have been removed). As stated EE is very overpowered, but only due to items such as; Red Matter tools,Collectors, Destruction Catalysts, SwiftWolf rings, etc... The reason I included Collectors in said items is because i found a horrible glitch recently where you can receive a stack of (64) Aeternalis fuel for just 1 Mobius fuel in around 1 minute.
Although items such as Transmutation Tablets and Energy Condensers should be allowed, because these are the only items that stay true to the name of the mod.
I'd be glad if this helps aid or point out what should be done. Although if the decision to keep EE should take place, you could divide the server into two hemispheres where EE resides with all the other mods on one side and the other side would be dedicated towards people who want IC2 and BC and all the other mods except EE.
Final point, It would be best if the overpowered EE items were removed and the rest kept, and it's prefectly fine if anyone disagrees.

The only OP items are the destruction catalyst (disable in config) and the collectors/relays (reduce the machinefactor number in the config files) I would suggest setting machinefactor to 8, and if people still complain, 4.

I had a collector MKII within a few hours. And then it was upgraded to MKIII by the next day and I had another MKII. In a few more days, I had a full 17/5 array.
I think that although EE SHOULD be dialed-down, items such as swiftwolfs, black hole, and the gem of eternal density, should definitely stay, they are some of the best reasons to use EE at all and to lose them would be a great shame...
I like EE and the fact that it makes minecraft go to a whole new level, but you can just start with EE at the start and barely use any of the other mods, then get redmatter being constantly made, or any other material which makes it so you don't need to actually adventure out or actually WORK for your materials, rather than just waiting for more stuff to be made. I had a lot more fun when I had to actually work for things instead of sitting around doing nothing. I remember when I actually used IC2 and needed to mine for more ores to get solar panels to power my machines. now, there's no point in mining for any materials, I can literally spawn them as long as I wait for a bit. there's no point in pursuing in forestry if you can make wood as well as other farming equipment in seconds with EE. and as much as I like the items, flying makes you pretty much impervious to mobs as long as you stay far enough from the ground, the destruction catalyst.. well, the destruction catalyst isn't that bad since it takes fuel and doesn't make a COMPLETELY huge hole. the upgraded version however I'm not sure about... never made it since I sorta got bored of the server. and that was my line of text

I understand what you mean about the theme, but we can't just get rid of it all together! For those of us who don't know much about the other mods (like redpower/forestry for me) it is nice to have EE. I think we should just remove the most overpowered items...like RM hammers, catalysts, and so on...

in that sense of not knowing much (if anything) about the other mods... there is one little itty bitty simple tinny ency wency wittle ittle thing you could try... LEARN the other mods, I came into the server an absolute noob and this was before EE I did just fine after a week or two, I think the server was much easier to manage without EE... once you use EE... the game is done for you... like Exle said, no need to mine or cut trees... once you build your house or what ever... what else is there to do?
