In-Character:
Name:
Elyncia
Nicknames include Eli and Lyn.
Gender:
Female
Age:
Practically 23, technically 100 plus minus a few years.
Description:
Slender build, near-white hair usually tied up, pale skin, and yellow eyes.
Wears a layered white and pinkish-purple dress, gothic in style, and two leather guards covering her right shoulder and forearm to some extent, the latter showing the Norvyx family crest.
(See attached picture(s).)
Profession:
Spellcaster (specialising in barrier spells).
Former protector and servant of the Norregellian royal family.
History:
Abandoned shortly after her birth, Elyncia was taken in by an orphanage in Norregellia, land of ever-lasting fog – a matriarchal kingdom under the rule of house Norvyx. She did not remain there for long, however, after it was discovered that she showed great promise in the arcane. The royal family quickly took notice, and Elyncia was soon brought to their mansion in the quiet outskirts of the capital.
In the secluded mansion, Elyncia was raised as caretaker and protector of Prince Nelniore, son and youngest child of the Queen. Her tasks as a caretaker mostly involved helping Nelniore, whether by attending meetings or helping clean up the mess left behind by his sister Varliena, heir to the throne, who had a habit of shirking her duties while still maintaining a stunning facade. Meanwhile, a friendship gradually blossomed between Elyncia and Nelniore, and Elyncia was placed in training under the city’s high priestess, where she was taught the ways of spellcasting. She grew incredibly proficient in barrier spells, but her ineptitude in all other spell types was glaring. Before leaving the cathedral a final time, the high priestess, who had become quite the mother figure to Elyncia, decided to entrust her graduate with a final spell; a spell so powerful, and with such unpredictable effects, it should only ever be used in the direst of situations. A spell to change the past.
As Varliena’s habit grew progressively more serious, Nelniore had soon taken over most of her duties, eventually leading half the kingdom from the shadows – something outrageous and completely unheard-of in the matriarchal Norregellia. Rumours spread like wildfire, and before long, Nelniore had gained countless enemies, most of which accused him of attempting a coup.
One particularly foggy night, the otherwise peaceful mansion was flung into chaos, a shimmering heat devouring the mansion. Under the cover of night, fog, and flames, the intruders made their way to the royal chambers. Elyncia was gripped by fear as her spells fizzled out, understanding that they had not come unprepared. Setting an anti-magic field in effect meant neutralising her only means of defense. Realising her own powerlessness, Elyncia fell to her knees, paralysed, and watched the now surrounded prince give off a final bittersweet smile as the room was swiftly painted red. Seconds felt like hours as dread took hold, but Elyncia finally snapped out. Fuelled by a last glimmer of hope, she tore out a page of her spell book, clasping it with trembling hands. As her tears fell on the intricate pattern she started reciting, and a soft, faint glow slowly filled the room. She knew the risks of casting inside an anti-magic field. She knew how even the most basic spell could backfire, leaving the caster crystallised, or even as nothing but ashes. She knew, yet she did not flinch as she finalised the incantation.
With a blinding light, Elyncia found herself lying in sand, the orange light of dawn gently creeping along the shoreline. Coughing up a mixture resembling soot and crystal dust, the words she had chanted seemingly mere minutes ago had been replaced by a splitting headache. Though left clueless, one thing was clear to her: she needed to find a way back.
Items and Gear:
Elyncia wears the aforementioned clothes and carries the following items on her person at all times:
Spell book containing small paper charms
Sigil of Norregellia
Norvyx Family Crest Brooch
Weapons:
Spell book (not the most practical melee weapon but still usable as such)
Parrying dagger (purely for disarming)
Positive Traits:
Strategic thinker,
Versed in parrying and disarming opponents,
Skilled at using barrier spells.
Negative Traits:
Naive,
Indecisive,
Mostly inexperienced in actual combat,
Basically incapable of casting any spell types other than barriers, thus relies too much on it.
Why are you interested? - Recently I've had Minecraft on the mind. About three years ago I dropped the game almost entirely, picking it up on rare occasion out of curiosity or a desire to reminisce. Summer is around the corner and I felt that perhaps I could spend some time with the game again. Conveniently, a good friend pointed me towards this server as a place to build and RP. RP servers are something I never ended up dabbling with, but it's certainly piqued my interest. I always like the idea of working with a group of people to make a cohesive experience everybody involved and everybody who encounters the results can enjoy; such is the reason I'm interested in joining this server. Spending weekdays working to help improve the server would mean a lot to me, then spending the weekends online with a group of people enjoying our time in whatever has been created in the past and in the recent weekend sounds like it could be a lot of fun. I'd absolutely love to join and help work with a community to improve everybody's experience in any way I possibly can, be it expanding on the vast world of Caneleth or RPing with other players.

Name
Uriah De Montigu
(Oo-ree-uh : Deh : Mon-teg-yoo)
"Uri"
Gender
Male
Age
23
Description
A tall and medium weight young man with a cleanly shaven face and medium black hair. He has darker skin, deep brown eyes, and long straight black hair that runs down to his neck. He tends to be very observant of the world around him due to his posh upbringing and high-level education. Though, again due to his upbringing, he is not very observant of his own actions outside of his manners resulting in a man who isn't fully aware of the consequences of any poor actions. Unlike the rest of his family, Uriah is an easy going and fun loving person which he uses to bond with people despite his ineptitude. This fun loving attitude lead him to be a bit of a troublemaker growing up, again resulting in poor choices that he does not fully comprehend the consequences of.
Profession
At heart a scholar, but is technically travelling for scholarly reasons. Traveler-Scholar?
History
The circumstances of Uriah's birth remain unknown. He was born in a distant land, though it is not known where that land is, what happened to it, and who his parents were. At a very early age he was adopted and raised in complete isolation within the walls of a noble family in Bavoria, the De Montigu family is large in count and in wealth. Growing up Uriah was a boy with a knack for learning, he was a bit of a prodigy, devoting himself to hours of studying under the wing of his mentor about the vast world around him, or at least the "vast" world contained within the walls. As he grew older he realized dissonance between himself and the De Montigu family. He looked completely unrelated to his caretakers; he had darker skin, taller stature, different eyes, and other characteristics not found among his brothers and sisters, though he never felt like he was treated differently than the rest. The De Montigus treated him like family and he was living a happy life of high education and luxuries. During the assault on Bavoria the family fled with many other refugees to seek solace in the new land of Canaleth. The De Montigus were quick to receive a seat of power once again and he continued to spend the first years of his young adulthood continuing his education once again within the walls of a noble housing. However, in those brief weeks of immigration he had seen the outside world for the first time, and in a rather disturbed connotation. While secure in Canaleth again, something felt off to him. He had a sudden urge to leave his family, something he had never desired before, in search of new ideas and information. A silver spooned boy became a curious man with simple desires, Uriah wanted to see the world. He wanted a chance to meet new people, learn new things, discover the world outside the walls, and possibly finally find out where he came from. So he set off with a gift from his grandfather, a staff used by the first Montigu, and now travels the world in search of new discoveries and knowledge.
Items and Gear
He dawns a scholarly green robe with brown cuffs, collar, and shoulders, all detailed with gold. Beneath his robe he wears a noble white button-up and dark gray tights. The quarterstaff he carries is also a family heirloom.
Weapons
A denim quarterstaff with yellow engravings that curl and encompass the ends of the staff. The top of the staff wears a silver ring as a crest. Uriah also carries around a small knife for carving and close-hand combat.
Positive Traits
Uriah is a very knowledgeable man in the realm of literature, science, and computational skills. His mentor in the De Montigu house taught him numerous combat skills that have been carried down through generations, mostly a form of martial arts that involves using staves, spears, or other staffs. He was also taught limited practical magic, he is unable to use elemental spells or heal wounds, but he is able create light sources and read ancient inscriptions. Despite his lack of interactions with people, he is very well mannered and is a very charismatic person. He is also a quick learner.
Negative Traits
Uriah's knowledge is a considerably positive trait, however outside of the three listed above his upbringing has left him very socially inept. He is poor at understanding other people's problems as he lived a mostly carefree life. He does make an effort to understand others and cheer them up if possible, though his efforts can sometimes cause more problems. He can cause unwanted trouble and can even overstay his welcome in the eyes of the more uptight. It's important to note that in general he can come off as ignorant in the world outside his home due to being knowledgeable only in what was provided to him as a child. I.E. He is bad with any basic survival skills, combat outside his training, and other skills that may seem to be necessities for the common person.
Other
Tries his best to be a better person despite his seemingly hard to relate to and misunderstanding demeanor.
I don't know why those two images are attached, but I suppose they're somewhat relevant. That's a town I built with a friend on another survival server during that period of "occasional reminiscing on Minecraft" I had this year. I understand it that when not RPing people are allowed to help build and expand Canaleth. So if you're interested in someone who can build, it used to be my favorite thing to do in the game, I'm still very passionate about it and hopefully up to standard? That's up for you to decide I suppose, but that's a demonstration. Huh. That kinda worked out conveniently.
Why are you interested? - I LOVE to role-play, and have been looking for a server to get into for a while, and this seems like the place!
In Character Stuff:
Name
Guinevere Senea (Gwin-uh-veer See-nay)
Called Guin for short
Gender
Female
Age
20
Description
Guin is a dainty-looking girl. She has long, wavy dark hair that frames her diamond-shaped face. Her bright emerald eyes are the most striking thing about her, placed above a slightly chubby nose and plump lips on snow-white skin. Guin is quite short, standing about 5'1", and she is almost all skin and bones. Guin's hands and wrists are littered with scars and burn marks, as her profession has left her with such.
Guin usually wears nice silk or satin gowns, as she was taught by her mother to always look as if you are going to meet your worst enemy. She has piercings lining her ears and body jewelry almost everywhere she could put it. Sometimes, on special occasions, bells and ribbons and other trinkets adorn her hair. Guin takes pride in her gypsy heritage, and dresses to fit that. (Though she doesn't want to be a gypsy any longer.)
Guin is loud and proud of it. She has quite the mouth, as extremities regularly flow out of it. Laughter is her favorite sound, and she has a bad habit of laughing at inappropriate times. Guin loves music, and singing is the only thing she is shy about.
Profession
Cook and baker
History
Guinevere was born to a gypsy mother in Canaleth, a ******* who was told stories of her father being a pirate that sailed to the Pavilion. Her mother obviously traveled quite a lot with her gypsy troupe, and Guin went with her from birth. The young girl traveled more than most of children she had come across, and loved experiencing the different cultures as a child. Guin's life was centered around song, dance, and travel, and as a child, she loved it.
Whenever Guinevere turned 14, it was expected of her to start dancing with her mother and the rest of the group. So, she began dancing. Gypsy life was a totally different entity once you were performing on the stage yourself. Men threw profanities at her, calling her every name in the book. She was groped, felt-up, and prodded every moment she walked on land. Women would spit at her and chant dreadful words that stung at her. Dogs wouldn't even sleep with them at night. Guin decided this was no life she wanted, and vowed to make a change as soon as she could.
The troupe made a trek to Morvan City on a stormy day, clouds blocking any view of a blue sky and rain pounding hard on the wagon's cover. Though a gloomy day, Guinevere thought the city was the most beautiful thing she had ever seen. This place would be her way out. Guin loved her mother and the friends she had in the gypsies, but she knew the life was not for her.Guin snuck every free moment she could to beg the local cook for work, and she would train until the old craven woman would kick her out on the streets. Guin learned fast, knowing that this may be her only chance to change her life. Finally, the old woman caved into her pity for the girl, and agreed to apprentice the girl for a small price. Guin scraped her dancing money up, paid the woman, and never looked back. She left in the dead of the night, penning a letter to her mother and leaving it on her bed. She cried for her past as she was walking towards the cook's shop, but that was the last she ever shed a tear during her new life.
Now, Guin is cooking and baking full-time, making a suitable living for a young woman. She has never been happier. She gets regular baths, and no one will ever spit on her or call her names anymore.
Items and Gear
Guinevere's usual outfit is a tight red satin dress, with her usual piercings and jewelry. She carries the shell necklace her mother gave her as a babe in a makeshift secret pocket sewn into the inside of her dress. Guin loves gold and jewels, so she will decorate herself with anything between those that she can find.
Weapons
Guinevere only carries a very small dagger that she swiped from the gypsy wagon years ago slid into a garter under her dress. She has yet to use it for anything, but she feels better that she has it to defend herself. Guin has more bark than bite, and avoids fighting as much as she can.
Positive Traits
Guin is loyal and trustworthy. If she cares for you, she will take a word to the chest for you. She is honest, and rarely ever lies. Guin is head-strong, and is never afraid to stand up for what she believes in. Guin is quite good at cooking and baking, as she has practiced that for many years now.
Negative Traits
Guin is blunt, and can say hurtful things without realizing what she is saying. She has a tendency to curse like a sailor, or pirate, and will not watch her mouth for anyone but the king. She also has a love for rum, and usually stays away, but can fall victim into a drunken night.
Other
Guin secretly wants to find her father, but is not so passionate about that cause to leave her life behind.

In Character Stuff:
Name:
Ginziah Koi; The Medicine Man; Very rarely called Gin.
Gender:
Male
Age:
24ish?
Description:
Ginziah is a mysterious character, for sure. He's 5'10" tall, very pale, which is odd for how much he travels. His hair is shaggy (medium length) generally covering his left eye, and pure white, as if it's lost all color, even if he is only 24. He only has one eye (his right), though you'd never know as he wears a glass eye. He generally wears a rough cloak and some loose fitting clothes. He always has his wooden backpack with him, its made of drawers and straps to his back. it's always full with misc ingredients and odds and ends for medicines/healing salves and the like. He's generally laid back, but can be serious if need be. You can often find him smoking his peace pipe, and is one usually willing to share with those he likes.
Profession:
Ginziah is something of a wandering alchemist/medicine man. He wanders from place to place researching plants and animals, as well as trying to help the sick when he can, often showing up to cure seemingly incurable illnesses, only to move on just as quickly as he came.
History:
Ginziah was found as a child, unconscious in the forest near the outskirts of a small farming village, a boy who looked to be about 10-12, but with pure white hair and only one eye. He has no memories from before this, and the kind old farmer that found him having no children of his own, took him in and cared for him like a son. Ginziah learned to work the fields and grew stronger helping his father and was happy for a time, until his father who was already quite old when he took him in, had begun to grow much older and was quite frail and dying now. Ginziah cared for the old man as he had cared for him, he learned different medicine techniques and how to grind herbs and poultices in order to help ease the old man's pain. Each day Ginziah would venture further and further out from the village in order to return with fresh ingredients to help his father. It was on one of these scouting trips his father died, and Ginziah still blames himself to this day for not being there when his father died. That was 4 years ago. Since then Ginziah has left the village and traveled a great distance in order to help those in need with his medicines and cures. Always researching new ways to help people and never giving up, as he does not want to repeat his perceived failure to help his father.
Items and Gear:
He usually wears loose fitting clothes along with a cloak/overcoat And always has a wooden backpack with drawers with him to store many different medicines/herbs/ingredients. A large sharp and sturdy knife, usually used for cutting plants, but its been used for self defense before. A mortar and pestle. Various vials and things for storing ingredients. Rope, a bedroll, waterskin, and various other odds and ends such as scraps of paper and quills and ink (he takes many notes during his research)
Weapons:
His fathers spear, used only in the direst of circumstances, or for hunting. A Staff. Usually only used as a walking stick, but its clubbed a bandit pretty good once or twice. His knife, though he'd rather not soil it with blood, can be used in a pinch.
Positive Traits:
Ginziah is very intelligent, and ironically has a very good memory, even if he cannot remember his early childhood.
Is young, and while not overly strong, he is generally in pretty good shape as he has traveled long distances, across many types of types of terrain.
Tries to help others and is often able to cure or aid illnesses where others have failed before. While not always able to help, he is generally well liked for his efforts and people have taken to calling him the medicine man.
Although it is often hard for him to make lasting friends, when he does he is very loyal and trusting. Willing to help in anyway he can.
Negative Traits:
Missing his left eye
Cannot remember anything before the age of ~10~12~ish including his birthday, age, or true family
Often quiet/aloof or lost in thought. Can make him hard to become friends with.
Blames himself for his father's death. believes if he had been there he may have been able to help him.
Other:
Well I'm pretty new to rp in general, but I'd like to give it a shot and would really like any help/pointers i can get and hopefully people can deal with me being a bit shy/nervous. I mean i have played a bunch of dungeons and dragons but this is something else entirely and I've always been the quiet one even in that. anyway, thanks for looking at my application, i hope you like it, im kinda sad to say it took me hours, but i tried my best. hopefully thats enough.
Why are you interested? - I've done RP before on minecraft, a while back. I might be a bit rusty but I'd be interested in trying this server out!
In Character Stuff:
Name
Iona Kromwell
Gender
Female
Age
37
Description
Iona has dark skin, with pock marks and scars. Her black hair is cut short, so as to not be a liability. Her eyes are brown. She wears simple clothes, and has very little personal possessions. Nothing she wears (or does in general) is in excess, since she believes that can be dangerous. She has the straight-backed rigidness of a trained soldier, but her movement can be stiff and her back somewhat bowed, from the years spent out on the road.
Profession
(Ex-)Mercenary
History
Iona was raised by a harsh family, in a harsh land, with harsh laws and harsh-faced people. At a young age she learned quickly how to keep her head down, speak only when necessary, and be completely honest. She was disciplined for the tiniest of infractions, which would end up turning her into the quiet, calm, and aloof person she is today. She hated the town she lived in, which always seemed to be changing hands from one lord to another as wars kept claiming territory on either side. The young folk in the town were conscripted and sent away. Sometimes a family would see off one child, only to give up their other child the next day to the other side of the conflict. Life was expendable.
Iona needed a way out of this life, and figured that mercenary work would be better than being a conscripted soldier for pointless wars. As soon as she was able to, she signed on with a mercenary group known as the Sanguine Edge. They were little more than glorified bandits, and Iona had to do her best to keep her spirits high and her resolve strong. It was difficult for her to rob others, assault villages, and worst of all, kill others. But she did what she had to do. Anything would be better than being left alone.
She always dreamed of being a hero -- donning shining armor and going out to quest and fight for justice and glory. It wasn't long before her time in Sanguine Edge caused her to be disillusioned, angry at the world, and looking for an escape from reality. Finally, the toll was too much on her, and in the dead of night she slipped away from the mercenary camp. For years she traveled, offering a helping hand to others and performing odd jobs for money. Though she tried her best to be a hero, the hero she idolized for so long, doing good things never ignited that spark in her chest. She continued being a good person -- she knew going down the opposite path would just make her situation worse -- but she still travels in search for a new goal.
Perhaps there's a purpose for her out in the world. Though she'd be considered by most to be no longer in her "glory days", she will keep wandering and doing what she can to find out what her purpose is in the world, and in life. She can feel all the years of fighting taking its toll on her, as well as her age slowly encroaching on her youthful energy, but she will not stop. Stiffness, scars, and aching does not stop her. Perhaps nothing will.
Items and Gear
Her clothes, armor, and gear are simple -- no frills, no bells and whistles, nothing extraneous or unnecessary. Her main weapon is a spear, and her armor is made of metal scales. Her one exception to her "nothing unnecessary" rule is that she has a necklace, which has neither monetary nor sentimental value -- she just wears it because it helps her feel a bit better about herself and her image.
Weapons
She mainly has a spear, though she carries a knife just in case.
Positive Traits
Very calm, and unlikely to do something in a fit of passion.
Lots of endurance -- she can walk for miles in full kit without becoming exhausted.
Trained and drilled, and very disciplined. Unlikely to not follow orders, unless she believes it would be unwise, unsafe, or immoral.
Negative Traits
Aloof, and sometimes callous.
Very jaded, especially when it comes to heroics and adventuring.
Can be extremely blunt.
Has no time for the foolish, cowardly, apathetic, and/or cruel people or ideas, and is very quick to point out those flaws in others.
Alright, i apologize for the name. I wrote this thing at 6AM @.@
the world will finally know peace

Thank you for your consideration
she swears this life is often overrated...

That's odd. It wont let me make the message... you know, work.
