I have had problems in the past, but looked over them after the staff fixed them. However, I've been waiting since yesterday afternoon for someone to answer a simple question for me. I have their discord, so I asked there. Staff is shown online, but no one is replying. Neither in general chat or private messages. I then sent a high priority ticket and still nothing.
I have been trying to restart my server fresh, but the old mods are still trying to load. Even after deleting them manually, and even after selecting "restart with clean template". I just want to know, how long does it take for files to be deleted?
This is frustrating. I pay $25 a month. I even paid $40 a month at one point for the extra assistance, but dropped it because it wasn't worth it. Guys, I really had faith in you. I understand you're a small business across the pond, but at least leave a note up explaining why you cannot get back to us in a timely fashion. Paying customers deserve an explanation. :/
It is possible that this was added by a plugin your friend installed. It wasn't placed there by us, and isn't related to our service. I'd suggest contacting our support so we can assist you with this.
Don't know much why you guys are complaining. I have been running with them for 3 years now and the latest time they answer my ticket is 10 hours, not over a week like most people say here. And I even set the priority to low, if it was high they would reply in under an hour for me

I've been using Shockbyte for almost a year now. Customer service can be a bit slow, but I am assuming it is due to the amount of traffic they have to deal with. It actually helped push me into the direction of figuring out how to deal with a lot of server issues myself.
Anyway, the prices are great and servers run well. Easy to use interface, and if you don't know how to upload packs they can do it for you or you can choose one of the presets(popular options like Tekkit and Infinity).
If you are looking for a cheap server and you can deal with slow tech support and laggy servers then Shockbyte is the server hosts for you.

Had a few minor issues getting my mod pack to work but they fixed it right up and quickly too. Then we started noticing that we weren't getting our full ram allotment, and my server started getting extremely laggy. I put in a ticket and it took two months for them to finally move me to another node. Things started looking up so my partner and I decided to stick with them. However this was a big mistake on our part. Back in december our server started getting laggy again, things would go missing, machines would turn on their own and constant server crashes. Our world was corrupted due to their maintenance and so I put in a ticket to find out what was going on and I am still waiting to fully resolve this.

We've been in business for almost 5 years and have a very strong reputation - we process hundreds of payments per day, so this kind of issue is very rare. Unfortunately there are times issues like this can occur that are beyond our control, however when something like this does occur we certainly can resolve it.

To anyone who is considering to go with the host: You should only go with shockbyte when you are pretty experienced with things because their support is pretty slow (on a few occasions for me and from what others say). Otherwise, their prices, their quality are all good for the cheap price. So yeah, that's all I got to say
I am paying for their "Sand" service ($5 for a 2g Minecraft server with 40 slots) as well as their "Server Management" option which ensures that they will handle everything from standard modpack/plugin installs to completely custom servers. There has yet to be anything that they have not supported.
Their service is quick and efficient. My average wait times for tickets has been between 30 minutes to an hour, and once engaged with them they are very quick to reply. There's also an option to pay $3 to have your ticket shuffled to the front, which admittedly made me nervous that others would be forced to suffer long waits, but I've felt no need to use it because as I said, 30 minutes to an hour. It's nice to have the option though, should an emergency arise.They are very knowledgeable about all things Minecraft and Minecraft related. They're always charming to deal with, and have been consistently patient with me.
They go the extra mile to ensure that I'm satisfied, and that I'm receiving the best service possible. I needed a mod to handle the storage of XP, but wasn't sure what the best option would be as our server is meant to be a sort of "Enhanced Vanilla" experience and I didn't want to pollute that. They had the perect suggestion that met my criteria, and had it installed within an hour of opening the ticket. While addressing that, another oddity popped up. It was seemingly harmless, and caused no real issue, I even told them not to worry about it. But instead they looked into, and fixed regardless.
That's what matters, and sadly that's what is poorly lacking in most hosting services. They will always go out of their way to ensure that you are receiving their very best. Regardless if you're pay five dollars or a hundred, they treat you the same and see that you're satisfied beyond your expectation.
That, is true quality of service, and that's why they receive 5/5 from me.

My server was great when I first started it. Then the problems came. They have terrible service and their chat support is just glorified bots.
My server through a week had several outages and had problems loading chunks around players. Very frustrated with this experience.
I cancelled on Jan 22. They charged me again on Feb 8.

Holy Cow- if Shockbyte's service & support is as terrible as everyone says, how are they still in business?
I only have to say- there are many hosting companies out there that run legitimate businesses and truly care about their customers.
Do a little research. Read the reviews. Find a legit company and buy a small package to test out their service.
Once you're satisfied, THEN buy a larger/longer package.
We in the MineCraft community DO NOT have to accept terrible service and support.
