Okay guys, while I was on the bus home today, I had an idea. I shared it with Mega, and he thought it would never work. Me being an optimist, thought that it was possibru. I thought that instead of wars on the server, we would have "Guild Rumbles" on Dragon Nest. For those of you who don't know what Dragon Nest is, it's an mmorpg that Nexon bought out. If that deterred you, well... nexon is doing a good job so far. I repeat, so far. ANYWHO! We had a bit of a debate over the pros and cons. I was pro, mega, con.
Pro arguments:
less damage to the world
less people lagged off the server due to intense pvp
less complaint from our server's host due to increased map size
Dragon Nest's guild rumble feature has 32 slots per team for nice legitimate war sized fights
Every class is balanced, where as if you have a good computer in minecraft you already won
War production wont eat the ground out from under cities and around them
Con Arguments:
It's not minecraft. Why play on a minecraft server when you don't always play minecraft?
Minecraft is balanced (if you have a solid computer)
In dragon nest you can grind to higher levels to get a skill advantage (things level out otherwise in DN pvp)
When grinding, you're not playing minecraft, thus taking you away from the server.
And that's the list so far. If we do go into debate here, I will post pro and con arguments to the lists. But it would be a nice fun way to decimate each other without murdering the server and causing it to lag. We all know how our European server hosts are having trouble keeping us online lately.
Sorry cort but im afraid i have to side with mega on this one, minecraft wars are... as the name suggests, Minecraft wars and should be fought in MC on the server, plus its more fun when you can pool the towns resources into armor and such to aid in battle. to fight a war on an MMO that isnt MC or even MC related is just... a bit far fetched :/
My vote is no to fighting wars outside of MC it diminishes the fun of building defenses and training troops
Same here..., playing several games parallel would be fun, but it only works if everyone already likes both games
For example, what if i told you all minecraft disputes would be settled in the original OFP? wouldn't want to have to learn a new game now would you =P
It's a nice idea, but it has a very narrow audience
Of course, if you ever declare war against someone, you're free to suggest to them to settle it that way, and if they accept, that's just awesome; it just doesn't work as an official thing
EDIT: What mega already said is basically what makes using an RPG even worse..., they have levels, thus giving an additional advantage to those who play it alot.
IF another game was used, it would have to be somewhere where you're exactly the same after a month of playing, just better at it
archaeologists believe the the ancient civilization went somewhere preserved, either of high altitude or or cold temperature, some artifacts have been found documenting this, the team of archaeologists will continue investigating, they believe the artifacts inside the ancient ruin may very well be of very high value, both historically and money wise.
Hopefully this provides insight to those searching for the ruin!

Mart, have I ever told you how much I love your brain?
Archaeologists believe the dungeon is definitely not near the spawn, probably beyond 1000 blocks from spawn, but they believe the civilization, much like us, began their journey at spawn, its possible they walked but the team doesn't believe they walked any farther than 6000 blocks from spawn.
Finding ancient texts they believe this civilization is a descendant of the snow people, rather the sand people of the previous dungeons. the texts also suggest enderman worship, and possibly even other mob worship.
Happy hunting ;P
(Or unhappy as most of the clues are slightly cryptic :D)
Archaeologists went on the first massive search in months and managed to stumble across the opening to a dungeon, peering inside they knew the advanced architecture was not of the ancient race they had been searching for, after searching longer they were hit with a sudden realization. "Thorn Mountain" both cold AND of high altitude only meters away from the museum recently opening fits the description perfectly. The museum is near a farm and old homestead of a civilian that decided to leave home. Which in turn is a few hundred meters from the crypt of the desert king recently discovered by minecraftians in a race to find an ancient sponge fossil.
Just wanted to officially announce that the Cyreans have indeed found and looted the second dungeon! So, if you're still looking for it, might want to cease the hunt.
Also, even though members of the UPD acted outside of the rules by murdering some adventurous Cyreans, I thought it actually added some excitement to the whole thing. Of course, had we actually lost everything in your last act of violence, things could have taken a turn for the worse. Let's try and act inside the rules next time eh?
AS general said, the race to find the dungeon has been concluded, im going to light it fully and open it for the public so you can all explore the dungeon, of course no loot will be replaced
Thanks all for participating, i dont think im going to hide another dungeon for a while... but i am planning some events for next week (the 11th perhaps?) Im still not sure what we'll have set up if anyone has any ideas post them! ill keep an eye on the thread and note any interesting ideas
