If we aren't going to get rid of districts, can we atleast get rid of the walls around them?
The only thing that defines a district is the walls. :tongue.gif: Don't worry, though, the districts won't be the same perfect squares from the old city,

How about we ditch the walls and use a Cartograph map with the Districts marked out on that
That would still ruin the point of the walls. The walls are there to show people in game the separation between different districts, as well as to allow us to close off certain parts of the city when necessary.
When would you ever need to block off an entire district? if someone wants to get in they will.
when he says block off he means when the government gets corrupt and purges an entire distric or fills it with lava or wraps it in bedrock
I mean block off as in keep people out of an area to finish construction, conceal ugly buildings during Alesgan expositions, or temporarily quarantine an area to keep monsters from getting out.
For you Americans, NYC has districs like broadway and times square, but you dont know that you are in a different district because of a huge ass wall (pardon the french (sorry any french people)), you know because the purpose of the buildings has changed. I like the gate idea though. AND in old Alesgen, there was a mini map in one of the districts by the spawn. That helped me a lot on how to get to places. We could do that again?

We could use natural barriers, if you're so insistent on something physical.
For example, in Howson's screenshot, a bridge across that valley could be the barrier between two districts. Or maybe a tunnel through a mountain could be too.

I agree with this idea.
