3. What role would you like to fill in the clan: He who be wishing to be risen up from the bottom, you may know me by Tav Master Hickman. (Tavern Keeper).
4. (Optional) If you chose the role Architect, do you have any screenshots of projects you have worked on in the past?: No decision on Architect.
5. Are you willing to Roleplay?: Does a fish float after death, Will the universe collapse in the end, Do wolves howl to the moon to prove their loyalty. All the answers are yes. (Yes)
6. As a fellow dwarf, what are you anticipating the most?: Anticipating is strong, only to wait for customers and give them what they ask for, to Sharpen the axes and let the Ale flow!
7. How do you plan on contributing to the clan?: One must be able to make some dough by giving up info and of course drinks to the customers. Then when needed protect the place that is giving him business and home.
8. What do you expect from the clan?: Me expect the same thing that i give all my visitors, respect and friendship.
9. Are you willing to use Discord? Of course.
(sorry got too carried away with the roleplaying lmao)
He came out of the woodwork, he did. There was no question about it, and none denied his right to the trade he had chosen. A tavern keeper is not an easy job, what with the constant brewing of ale and rowdy customers... But it is one of the most enjoyable. The tavern keeper holds, in his two mighty fists, the ability to create astounding roleplay like none other. He is the inspiration for all others to take part in the merriment. For without a steady supply of ale, music, and community, a dwarf kingdom is but naught.

It is good that you stumbled upon us, as our other tavern keeper will be away until December (He's got limited data usage). I'll be awaiting you on both the discord and the server, and I'll show you to the tavern, The Cracked Anvil, at the Fortress. Also, if you're one to personalize your own tavern - we will be working on a space for a tavern somewhere near the entrance to the underground. (Though, you are of course, entitled to changing the current layout of the tavern that is already made)!

It is my honor to accept you into our community! Feel free to hop on both the server and the discord when you're next available, and I'll show you around. Also, if you haven't already, I suggest downloading the Conquest Resource Pack, as it is vital to see what we see if you are going to build.
I'm moving the weekly updates to Saturdays now to better fit my schedule.
The thread
I've updated the roster sections to include all members, past and present, so that even if you are no longer a part of us, you will still be remembered as one of the Dwarves! I've also implemented an Inactive list there, where I will be sending members a private message if they have not logged in on the server or hung out in the discord for two weeks.
The server
The entrance cave leading to the town area has seen a lot of progress in the recent weeks. The cave itself is entirely carved out and is now seeing appropriate fortifications being built to allow for more security in the event of an attack. Staircases have been made down to the level of the underground city, and we're currently working on a design for that build - stay tuned for results!
Two of our members, Kyrenic and RiriCos, have begun working on expansion villages for the great Dwarven Empire. Neither has named their place yet, but we currently have a desert city being built at /t outpost thanks to Riri, and a humble farming village being built by Kyrenic. Big thanks to these two members, who have shown a lot of activity and loyalty in the recent days!
Currently organizing an RP event to get our members to work together and to explore various iconic ruins on the map - It will be dangerous, and it will be fun! Updates will come as the event is finalized.
3. What role would you like to fill in the clan (Architect, Axeman, Tavern Keeper, etc.): Miner
4. (Optional) If you chose the role Architect, do you have any screenshots of projects you have worked on in the past?
5. Are you willing to Roleplay? Yes I am.
6. As a fellow dwarf, what are you anticipating the most? To Sharpen the axes and let the Ale flow.
7. How do you plan on contributing to the clan? I plan on making the clan a very very richer clan than it is, I will contribute most of my time mining and mining.
8. What do you expect from the clan? I expect the clan to be very co-operative, and help each other out in bad situationsuppliers.
9. Are you willing to use Discord? (You do not need a microphone). Yes I would be willing to use Discord.
Accepted!
I See that you are already a member of a couple other clans. There's no issue with that, of course, since we're not strict on activity - It only makes me question whether or not you are serious about being a Dwarf. No matter, welcome to the Kal-Buldur Dwarves! Feel free to hop in the discord, and I'll hook you up with the invites on the server.
Apologies for a lack of updates - a lot of stuff has happened and we are currently attempting to bounce back from it. The main thing being that our Master Architect, CaveDweller123, was found to be duplicating items (Something like 6 doublechests of diamond blocks, it's a disgrace). As a result, he has been banned from both the clan and the server. I've also changed my minecraft name from XxOverAchieverxX to Grumfisst, or Steel Fist, for RP reasons.
Update 12/3 - Saturday Update #2
The thread:
I've updated the post to include the new town we are currently working on. I have yet to come up with a name for it, and construction is mostly focused on landscaping at the moment. We have a few plots ready for sale, but the majority of the town is just being laid out.
I've also noticed a lot of inactivity from some members, but I expect that to be resolved soon as many are worrying about finals and are celebrating the holidays with their families.
The server:
As a result of our Master Architect's actions, Azangathol has fallen into ruins. It is now filled with horrors such as cave spiders and skeletons, ready to use the hard work we put into the base against us. Expeditions to Azangathol have mostly led in death for the dwarves taking place, so it is off limits for the time being.
We've moved to a new place on Orrostar, where we will build a new, beginner-friendly city. We're thinking of a three-tiered city, with the lowest tier being divided into three districts. A lot of this design is currently in my head, and now we just need builders to make it a reality. The top tier will most likely be a fortress carved into the side of the mountain, while the middle tier will be upper class homes for officers and members who have proven their worth.
Elsewhere on the server have come reports of ghasts spawning on the overworld, as well as zombies geared up in iron armor and diamond swords lurking around Blue Peaks. It is advised for all Dwarves to group up before adventuring into dangerous zones, for you may be throwing your life away.
A building competition for a better spawn is also currently running, with the top prize being $30 USD, 1000 server currency and a legendary sword. We're participating in the competition as a clan, so all are welcome to participate!
That's all for this week. Despite the bad news, we've been managing pretty well, and I think we'll rise out of it stronger than before.
What role would you like to fill in the clan (Architect, Axeman, Tavern Keeper, etc.): Farmer and Miner/Smith
(Optional) If you chose the role Architect, do you have any screenshots of projects you have worked on in the past?
Are you willing to Roleplay? Yes, though prefer light RP
As a fellow dwarf, what are you anticipating the most? To Sharpen the axes and let the Ale flow!
How do you plan on contributing to the clan? Gathering the necessary resources for our warriors and builders to be successful in their endeavors
What do you expect from the clan? Companionship and fun. I also hope to improve my building skills by learning from more experienced builders!
Are you willing to use Discord? Yep!
As a personal question, is there an area where the lore of both the server and the faction can be found? I love lore and think it is necessary for a good understanding of matters. Edit: I found the wordpress from reading your old posts and now have access to the lore.

I'm glad to see that you've taken interest into the server lore! If you have any questions relating to it, feel free to ask around, as many of the playerbase have been around for all these years. For lore about us, you'll have to ask me directly, as I've only began documenting lore relative to us since I made this forum post. (It doesn't even have information related to my first dwarven city, Shimmermist, there).

Welcome! I hope to see you around on the discord and server sometime soon - I'll invite you to the fac/town and give you a rank on discord.
I've updated the member lists, showing who is inactive and who has left the clan in the recent weeks. At the moment, we are appx. 14 active members strong. I *may* be reworking officer roles soon, or adding in an application for them.
The server:
Now that many of us have finished up with this semester of Uni/High School, we're back on track and working on the town again. So far I've outlined 20 of the 40 residential plots, as well as all of the commercial plots. Designs have been flushed out for the outer fortress walls and towers so far. One of our farmers, Kyrenic, will be leading construction of two very large decorative farms outside of the city walls - once we have designs for those walls, of course.
Last weekend there was a very small rift outside of our old fort of Azangathol. Us Dwarves and one member of Trimordia, Osumaro, fought together to defeat the rift. I didn't feel like it was significant at the time, but it occurs to me that this is the first rift here on Orrostar - meaning things may become significantly more dangerous as time goes on.
We've got a couple ideas for the town name so far, but it's still a heavily debated upon topic - we want it to be a Dwarven name unique to where we are, but have not decided on what will be the city's most distinguishing feature yet. Hopefully we will have decided on a name by next Saturday.
As always, we're accepting new members and eagerly await new Dwarves! There are plenty of housing plots - and our exploration event is set to happen 3 PM EST Sunday, so join in before then if you want to experience some danger and fun!
Aye, the clan fell apart quite rapidly. My last post on here was an attempt to bring back some level of activity - but, as you can probably guess, it was ultimately in vain. I'm going to be working on a hard reset for the Kal-Buldur Dwarves in the coming weeks.
Looking back at things, I've come up with several reasons why the clan became inactive. I'm going to list them here, and see what I can do about improving the clan and myself in the future. I want to make the idea work - so if any Dwarves want to pitch in, give suggestions, or just in general offer support for a revival, I will gladly accept it.
1. Boredom. - Yes, the most influential reason for our fall - a distinct lack of things to do. Upon forming the clan, I had pictured the server owner taking an active presence on the server, making things challenging for us with server events and pushing us together to work as a team. I admit, I might have been a bit too naive to think that the server owner alone would be able to keep the interest of the players (The Ancient World is now *practically* dead). The majority of the time only Kal-Buldur Dwarves were logged into The Ancient World. With the clan having little to do other than Vanilla Minecraft on a dying server, people began going their separate ways.
2. Leadership - The second major reason for the mass inactivity lies in our leadership. When ShammySham6, CaveDweller123, and I formed this clan, we had clear goals in mind: 1)Build a really cool underground Dwarven city. 2)Get a good group of players to play with and share in laughs. 3)Fight together in large battles against the undead invaders. Now, that is of course a very broad summary of the goals, but you get the gist.
As king, I was in charge of overseeing recruitment. That bit was definitely accomplished, and I'm grateful how popular we became in just a short time-span. That's one goal out of our list of three. Just one was successful. CaveDweller's utter carelessness with using inventory editors and the like stripped us of our ONLY experienced Dwarven-Styled architect. The last goal failed due to, as explained before, an oversight made by myself about the capabilities of the server owner.
As you can see, the clan was only technically led by two people (Shammy is just my best friend, mostly served as a squire who gave me suggestions and the like - he didn't really serve as a leader). I didn't intend to have to run the clan all by myself upon forming the clan - but I realize the way I setup the roles it was bound to happen at one point or another.
3. Wealth - I strongly believe that a major reason for the clan's failure was the amount of ores, diamonds, pvp gear, etc. that we accumulated BEFORE recruitment began. When new Dwarves joined, specifically the ones who wanted to be labourers and the like, they were unable to do what their job described.
Ex. Miner Dwarf joins and is welcomed into the clan by myself.
Miner: "King, where do I go to mine?"
King: "Oh, well, we've already got a couple stacks of diamond blocks - focus on making some PvP armor for yourself or see if you can help build in any way possible"
The Miner Dwarf in question would immediately feel useless because the reason he/she joined was to use their strength to benefit the clan. The realization that they were unable to benefit us in that way immediately detached them from the clan as a whole.
4. Time Differences - The final issue that I am able to think of in relation to the spike of inactivity was the time gap. Because we had members from across the globe, it made it appear like we were a very small and inactive group to people not living in the U.S. The members living outside of the U.S. were quickly distanced by the group as a whole.
Conclusion:
I know the areas that I need to work on to make the clan a success - I'll just have to think about the specifics. Currently thoughts as I type:
-Some form of clan events (Weekly? Bi-Weekly? Two different times?)
-Add notice about non-U.S. players may have a hard time playing with the group
-Revising the Roles. Looking over different methods of organizing roles, I see fatal flaws in most systems. One benefits only people who are able to be on 24/7, while another benefits people who get there first. I'll have my complete thoughts on my own variation soon, as this is the area I want to focus on the most right now.
-Finding a new home server. This is tricky. The main things I'm looking for right now:
1. Custom Map that includes large mountains
2. Some form of server event (The more 'hardcore' the better. The Ancient World is probably unique in the fact that it's server events literally tear apart entire bases with hordes upon hordes of undead. I want something close, if at all possible).
-BUILDERS. - I cannot stress how important builders are. I have ideas for builds, I simply cannot put them into motion without a proper group. If you're good in underground environments, however big or small, I would love to have you on board!
Remember Dwarves, Sharpen the Axes and Let the Ale Flow!
Since the last update, the remaining members of Kal-Buldur have been discussing solutions for the issues I described. I will outline what we've done to remedy each issue in this update.
Roles:
After discussing over issues and the like with the clan, I have developed a new system for how roles work inside the clan. We will be running a Candidate system in which current officials pick a list of people at the end of their term. This list is submitted to the King and Steward, who will then choose from that list of candidates. This system should allow everyone the chance to hold a position of power, as the King and Steward have the ability to prevent power-hungry players from consistently being in charge. Overall, I like the new roles system and cannot wait for the first selection (April 1st will be the date of the first selection).
Server:
After searching for a server that I described, I came to the realization that they were few and far between. The Dwarves have decided that, in order to get the type of gameplay we want, we will have to make our own server. I have posted a link to the forum thread we are using for the server in the opening post. Feel free to give it a look, and I would greatly appreciate any thoughts/tips.
Events:
Because we are running the server, we will not have to worry about a shortage of events. Numerous event ideas have been made to keep things fresh, with many more as possibilities if the current ones are no longer engaging. I don't want the clan falling into inactivity again if I can help it.
Non-U.S. players:
Because many of the Kal-Buldur playerbase works or goes to college, many players are only able to play with players in their respective timezones. A large majority of the players that are in and have been in Kal-Buldur live in the United States. In order to more readily include foreigners, I have included a question that asks for timezones in the application. I will be recording the timezones of all members in a notepad, so that players who share timezones are better able to know who each other are and get acquainted.

I See that you are already a member of a couple other clans. There's no issue with that, of course, since we're not strict on activity - It only makes me question whether or not you are serious about being a Dwarf. No matter, welcome to the Kal-Buldur Dwarves! Feel free to hop in the discord, and I'll hook you up with the invites on the server.
.
Despite the bad news, we've been managing pretty well, and I think we'll rise out of it stronger than before.
.
As a personal question, is there an area where the lore of both the server and the faction can be found? I love lore and think it is necessary for a good understanding of matters. Edit: I found the wordpress from reading your old posts and now have access to the lore.
Accepted!

Update 12/17 - Saturday Update #3
The thread:

Update 2/16/17

Update 2/21/17
Thanks for taking the time to read this update.
