ok, i decided i wanted to have a server for me and my friends to play minecraft on. i used my moderately old laptop as the platform for it to run on. i have the .Jar version of the server with the latest runecraft installed. It works fine but it runs for an undefined amout of time (about 30min normally) before it launches an endless, repetitive stream of jargon i do not understand. It may say something about socket closing but im not sure. im hoping its a common problem that can be fixed easily, but if not i can add a pause to the end of my "startserver.bat" (which has the correct amount of allocated memory btw) and write down the exact error message. any solutions not involving buying a decent laptop are welcome
EDIT: i was hoping this was a common problem but apparently not, so next time it crashes ill write it down but the error message doesnt show up in the server log
here is the message
"java.net.socketexception: socket closed
at java.net.plainsocketimpl.socketaccept(native method)
at java.net.plainsocketimpl.accept(unknown source)
at java.net.serversocket.implaccept(unknown source)
at java.net.serversocket.accept(unknown source)
at ek.run(sourcefile:40)"
now you can see why i didnt want to hand type it :tongue.gif:
