They should add eclipses. Once every 30 Minecraft days/nights, there should be either a solar or lunar eclipse, chosen randomly. It would be cool.
I think there's a lunar eclipse phase already, but to take it further, what about having mobs come out during a solar eclipse and then for a full moon phase as welll, especially if the mobs were excessive and harder to kill, being more hostile, and having more health? That my friend, would be a nice touch.
you know you can change skins in minecraft well wouldn't it be cool if you could change the shape of the guy as well it wouldnt change your character dimensions or anything it would just look cool
Changing the dimensions of the character without changing the dimensions of the character? Frankly, this suggestion is not very well understandable, atleast to me. You mean like making your character 1 block high to be a dwarf, but that would only be in appearance? Seems kinda pointless, and buggy.
What? What does that have anything to do with what I said? My post had nothing to do with the current terrain generation, don't twist my post into something it wasn't.
No, everything above "THIS IS THE PART OF THE POST THAT MATTERS:" was just me ranting off. Everything under the caps was what I actually had relating to your post. I think that if the flower biome was small, like a small little clearing in the forest. I just couldn't take another full-blown biome like plains again. That's the basic summary.
Flower biomes wouldn't be about usefulness, it would be about adding variety to the landscape. How cool would it be to come across a field of giant flowers? There's a lot of other cool things you could add to it, too. This is Minecraft. Use your imagination.
Variety? Variety you say? Read this topic: http://www.minecraft...__fromsearch__1 The last thing that we have now in minecraft is variety, referring to the terrain, and not the number of biomes. All we have is flat, flat land next to spammed, bald mountains, and now you want MORE flat land? If you would look at old seed videos for things like pre-1.8, 1.7, and the whole Alpha phase, you will notice 2 things. One is that most, if not all, do not mention anything about villages or structures. Some even go further than the spawn, and show beauty of your imagination. How often have you gotten a seed and gone more than 64 chunks away, unless hunting or finding something? How far have you gone just exploring, not looking for specific terrain, but to see the beauty and unexpectedness of what comes next? The fact, that you are already seeing what you came for, not searching for some specific formation, that you KNOW you'll find if you go in ANY direction? Probably not since pre 1.8 or before.
THIS IS THE PART OF THE POST THAT MATTERS:
If you made the flower biome have a max area of 2 chunks by 2 chunks, maybe even 4 chunks by 4 chunks, that would be like a nice little clearing in a forest, a small haven of flowers and solid land. If there was such changing and outrageous terrain around it, that would be very nice, like a safe haven of open air. Unfortunately, the terrain is flat enough already. I like the idea, just not with the current features.
How about the ability to lay gunpowder on the ground like redstone. Light it with flint and steel, and it will ignite like a fuse!
I already suggested this around the time that tripwires came out in the 1.3 snapshot. Instead of TNT activating with redstone, it has to be set off with gunpowder. Find my post if you want, and bump it. Atleast you know only compressed gunpowder explodes among igniting.
I Was Walking In a Rain Storm in Minecraft, And i Thought That it Would Be Kinda Cool If There Was Mud In The Game, (Grass Would Turn in to Wet Grass) Like When It Rains All Dirt That Is Getting Rained on Turned to Mud And You Moved Slower On It Like On Soul-Sand. ( Wet Grass Dose The Same Thing) But This Is Just Something That Popped In Too My Head, So i Was Wanting to Know If It Was a Dumb idea or a Good idea.
Thank You For Reading This.
Well once you figure out the transitions from grass to mud without it always having to be dirt, then you would have mud move you slower, and wet grass move you fast, as if you were slipping. This might be nice on an extra terrain effects mod.
Sometimes its annoying to look at the clock or a map in your inventory because you need to place or keep it in your hotbar, even when you're in your own house.
Why not have the ability to place the clock or the map on a wall? Just like a painting. You can walk in your house and have a map of the area or the current time displayed on your wall. The map will display the terrain where you made it and the clock just shows the time.
Maybe even add a "you are here icon" at the place where the map has been put on the wall.
You could craft a wallclock or map by combining it with string and a iron ingot or just right click on a wall.
It's a very small change and could be useful if you don't want to carry a map/clock around all the time.
So many.... of the same.... suggestions Seriously, if you would just search the topic for "wall clock" then you could bump a post, instead of having to make an entire new one.
I was playing Minecraft, my world was a large Desert. I thought, wouldn't it make it interesting if there were random weather occurrences that are Sandstorms. It would make particles of sand fly by when outside and would decrease your Field of Vision. This would also act like a storm as it would makes mobs not burn, but it would also decrease the mobs range of view too. I think it would be a cool addition to the game, not sure if anyone else would, but I think it would.
Already been suggested, in this thread or elsewhere.
You say that flower biomes are REALLY pointless?! Everyone knows that Jeb is not adding it, but it still would be pretty awesome. And it could win mushroom biome 10-1. But if notch would have got that idea first, who knows he might have added it to the game...
To me, mushroom biomes are like a quirk. They are rare and usually spawn in islands. You barely see them. Flower biomes would be pretty occurent, especially with how flat most of the biomes are now. So really, all you do is be in a field of flowers. I don't think mushroom biomes are any better, but I'd think Jeb would add something special that is actually worth finding them. If he doesn't it really isn't worth keeping them unless you want a mooshroom. If you want a feild of flowers, build your house in a field, and then get a whole bunch of flowers and place them down. Or, I'm pretty sure there was a mod already to add flower fields. If you have a 64-bit you can add sonic's unbelievable shaders and watch them sway back and forth. Have fun.
Is this thread for serious suggestions? If not, there ought to be one.
Aww well. I'll suggest anyway.
Bone can do anything a stick can do. (tool crafting, ladders, etc.)
Dyes and Redstone should be block-craftable.
Monster Attractor- craftable
Ender Pearls craftable into some sort of teleportation device. (this may need its own thread, tell me if you think so.)
+1 on the Flower biome.
Bones replacing sticks? If somehow you made it a bit harder to make, it be worth it for better effects. Just getting bone and using it is too easy.
Block craftable redstone? If you would put some gold in the corners, and have redstone in the middle and on the sides in the crafting table to craft it, then maybe it would be useful as a redstone signal strengthening block. Still, doesn't sound like it opens up new innovation to create better and more complicated machines. Block dyes? Ever try, you, as a regular citizen, to compact paint into a solid block? Because that's what you're asking for here.
Monster attractor.... no.... stop making the game too easy. Soon minecraft will be able to be played by just moving 8 blocks in 5 minutes.
Ender pearls can teleport, just right click them and you will move to where it lands, at the expense of half a heart. Crafting them into a teleportation device seems pretty pointless.
The flower biome is actually REALLY pointless. While we already have all flat terrain except for extreme hills, which are all spammed together. Having flower fields are pointless for more than just this. You can get red flowers, and you can get yellow flowers. You can use this for red wool, yellow wool, and orange woo,. Hm, a WHOLE BIOME dedicated to getting 3 pointless items for anything other than aesthetics. Instead of a flower biome, click on my signature. Which you've already done. I'm disappointed. Anyway, no flower biome. Just clogs up the game, and would be the most repetitive thing ever, next to all the other biomes.
