What about people that play on versions that you can't get texture packs or it is very hard to get them?
I just hope this doesn't turn into what happened when Mojang changed the wool colors. I wouldn't have cared if they made the new concrete all bright with different colors like that. But to change the color palate, of a common block that people use for building, was a really imbecilic move on Mojang's part. Some of the blocks, like I mentioned earlier in the post, should get a little bit of updating. I would actually like it if they toned down the contrast on the wooden plank, like the latest update for the wooden planks. I just hope Jasper does a good job.
Side Note: What do you guys think Notch thinks about the texture change?
Other versions are irrelevant to this discussion, because we are talking about an update to the Java edition only.
I doubt that Mr. Persson is aware that textures are changing; he's probably too busy watching Prisoner: Cell Block H. He has 2.5 billion reasons not to care.
People have gotten used to the old textures, to change then is all well and good for new players and the artistically inclined but to the rest of us it's just annoying.
Not true; there's plenty of oldschool players who welcome the changes. Not all, but plenty. "The rest of us" do not find it annoying; just a few people do - and honestly, they can just use a resource pack.
