I am having trouble downloading texture packs now. Whenever It finishes downloading, I can't open it because it says insufficient permissions, and Idk what to do, I've tried everything. Can someone please help me? Thanks!
It would be a great help to know what operating system you are running and where you are downloading the texture packs from. Also specifically what texture packs are you having problems with and what format is the download? The implication from your first sentence is that it worked before... what? What changed? When did this start happening? What is the location on the system you are downloading to?
Also if you are using a Microsoft OS, make sure you have some kind of anti-virus software that is up to date and actively scanning downloads.
I have Windows 7, I am downloading from planetminecraft.com, the name of the texture pack is Ravand's 128x128 Realistic. Everything I download goes into my Downloads folder. It started doing this to me last night. I have Malwarebytes Anti Virus but it's not on my computer yet. It's a ZIP file
When you view the Downloads folder, is the zip file there? Does this happen to other downloads like pictures or programs? Make sure your browser is up to date. You might try downloading to removable USB storage or a memory card. Also if you can create a folder somewhere on the PC, you should be able to download to that location as well. If it is indeed a permissions issue, you will need the system administrator to grant you permission regardless.
No this is MY computer. I do have it set as administrator, and no just these files, but I'll try to fix it. Thanks. I use Chrome too so Idk if that's the problem.
This has been a known bug in certain versions of Chrome. Update the browser and it should go away.
Also once you have a solution, it's good forum etiquette to add 'SOLVED' to the thread title, so that others can easily see that you don't need help any more, and if they have the same problem they might benefit from the same solution.

Likely your admin(parents?) set limits to your account so you can't download files, in case you try to download a virus or something.
Try to right clik it and run/open as administrator
If you are an admin of the computer or there is only 1 login on your computer, i'll need info.
Has this always happened or is it new?
also if you have antivirus then it IS on your computer.

Glad you got it solved and happy minecrafting.
