Hey Guys I'm new to Minecraft Forums.....And I was wondering what do you guys think about horses being added in upcoming updates?.......Is it a good idea or not?......
Horses are a good idea. Having everything related to horses be dungeon loot is a bad idea.
I'd like to be able to use a horse without having to hunt for ages for a dungeon that may not have a saddle in it or hoping one of my possible trades from a villager will be the saddle.

hunt for ages? i really dont get your problem. Dungeons are pretty common, and inside dungeonchests, saddles are pretty common. I have like 15 of them. The problem is gonna be horses, cause right now, they're damn hard to find.
OP: I don't really like horses that much, they just don't fit IMO. We already got pigs, and riding pigs always was one of the unique, silly aspects of minecraft that i love. They could just buffed them to be faster, or remove them at all. For me, horses where always like thirst, a feature that is requested over a 1000 times, but would never get into the game because it just doesn´t fit in minecraft. Sad that they implemented them afterall.

I've made several worlds in 1.5 and have yet to see a dungeon. The world generator must just hate me.
Horses being rare imo isn't bad because that relieves the issue of people complaining that they'll be too easy to find and would replace walking after the first day.

Saddles and horse gear may be found in village or temple chests, in the snapshots. Perhaps load one of those up and use AMIDST to find temples and villages easily.

Ah ok. I was using the wiki as the source of information and it says saddles only come from trading or dungeon loot chests. That isn't so bad now.
Off topic: Awesome profile pic and sig. Elfen Lied is amazing.

Actually, I don't think that the saddles and armour can be found in different places just yet - Jeb hinted at this, and said something about chests in the Nether as well. Perhaps next week's snapshot will make saddles and armour easy to find.
Sorry.
Also, you can use the StrongestCraft texture pack to see dungeons more easily. They're more common than you might think.
At first I didn't much like the idea of horses in Minecraft. I thought the models and textures didn't match the rest of the game, and that they would render pigs obsolete.
Then I played the snapshots, and I'm surprised how much my opinion changed. Horses in Minecraft are really pleasant, and the textures themselves do seem to fit in game (the armor textures, not so much). I especially love the donkey and am interested to see how they develop the chest feature with it. I just wish something would be added for pigs, because at this point all they have going for them is being completely adorable pets. Which, to be honest, I don't even mind too much.

Horses don't fit? Why is that? Horses fit because they are blocky (Of course) and are another animal that can be ridden, and can do more than pigs. (Mostly because they're a real-life animal and all other passive animals are real) Pigs are still fun to ride but you can't control them without an item. Horses could be used for certain PvP servers or RolePlay, or just adventure maps. (Epona in Minecraft - Legend of Zelda)
Just because Horses are added doesn't mean Pigs will be ignored by players. If you don't like horses, ignore them and always use pigs.

They're blocky, but they are way more detailed then the other mobs and have multiple animations, while most mobs have none.
Also, they give MC more of an RPG aspect, wich i dont really enjoy. Also you cant compare pigs to horses, and say that 'if you dont like horses ignore them and use pigs.'horses are just so good. Ofcourse pigs will be ignored, why would you want to ride a pig, if you could ride a horse, that doesnt need to be fed carrots, is way faster, stronger, can jump two blocks high, can wear armour, can carry stuf...

It's my hope that all of the mobs will get some retooling, including pigs. Maybe even some fighting animations! And for pigs, maybe they can get an animation for their nose when they oink.

Make note: I generally avoid being insulting. If I sound insulting, I'm probably joking.

What is RPG in horses?
Also, horses are very rare, and hard to tame. They are OP a bit, I agree, but it is like saying that diamond tools are OP.
Ya it's a pretty sweet idea

Never did care for pig mounts.

Off-topic: Thank-you. It surely is.

Pigs being ride able didn't make them useful...
Yeah, but it at least gave them a use besides being something to slaughter en-masse on sight.
