I ask this question because I will get raspberry pi but my friend said banana pi is better so which one should I choose

Er.. Your friend tricked you. There's no such thing as 'Banana Pi'.

But a serious answer to this fake question would be: No.

Minecraft Pi edition only runs on Raspbian, and a device with an ARM processor.

Oh, my god. I had no idea. The name just sounded so punny it had to be a joke. Sorry! But, my answer still applies, it only runs on Raspbian.

I am looking at using a banana with ubuntu desktop, that should be able to run the standard minecraft.. ?

I have a banana pi and just discovered this version of minecraft tonight, so I am working on installing raspbian now.

When I heard that the Banana Pi was a bit better than the raspberry pi, I literally hugged my Raspberry Pi saying "Dont let them insult you"!

Better is always a frame of mind, my roomie still plays his N64 for hours each day, it's just different

It won't work because the Pi Edition uses a library for the BCM2835, while Banana has another chip, it's not included in its Linux distro.
