Suppose, hypothetically, that God announced one day that He has just tweaked the laws of physics slightly. This will make fantastic new inventions possible: like free energy, cold fusion will actually work, flying cars, 3D printers will be able to print more types of things easily so there won't be such drastic poverty, faster than light travel in space, etc.
But there's a downside...
We can keep our scientific knowledge (most of it will still be relevant), but we will have to rebuild our technological civilization from scratch all over again. Everything we've invented and that now exists will be gone: cities, technology, the internet, etc. We will have to start over again from the stone age. The Earth will be a virgin planet once again and will even be re-formed with all new continents and weather patterns, etc.
Would you welcome the changes, or would you be really, really $&%%ed?
This is a purely hypothetical question out of general interest and has no bearing whatsoever on any particular open world building computer game. If you make such an assumption about my question, that's not my fault.
Given that I rely on modern medicine to stay alive (I have HLHS), having to start from scratch would result in my death, as well as the deaths of a GREAT many people. The current generation would face many deaths and hard times, as we have becomes accustomed and reliant on modern science. This would, however, be better for humanity in the long run. It would take a long time, but once we got to the equivalent of where we are now, humanity would be much better off and would be able to progress much further than we will be able to as things are now.
So yes, I would be upset and destined to die if this were to happen, though I do acknowledge that this would be better for humanity in the long run. However, I do not want for me and all the people I love to either die or suffer, so I would not want this to happen.

A lot of people would get screwed over due to dependence on modern technology. The population I think would basically reset itself. It would be interesting to see the new technology put to use but at the cost of wiping out the current population isn't really worth it.
I would not be able to live. Not only does my current job require technology, but I require technology. I need my laptop, my internet, my PS3, my refrigerator, etc.
Edit: Not sure if people realize this but Stone age Tech would mean billions would die. Food transportation, disease prevention, clean water etc. And that is one of the big reasons I say yes.
I would flat-out say no. We're close enough to FTL and nanobots could have the same effect as a multi-substance 3D printer. If you think about it, we don't actually need the laws of physics changed. We can find loopholes ourselves, no god required.
