It really depends how bad the trolling is. Sometimes, the person being trolled needs to take a simple joke, but other times, the person doing the trolling is just being a ****.
Of course my idea is by no means the only reason, if a reason at all, for trolling. It would also be people taking out their frustration for real life, so on, and so forth.
The second article is just random babbling with no basis, and the first one not only doesn't talk about any necessity of murder (just about aggression) but still doesn't actually have any sources.
I see trolling as messing with somebody to make them mad for your own, or other's, entertainment. There are many different types of trolls, but they all have the same motive. The lulz. There are trolls that go on TF2 servers and mic-spam stupid songs, and they usually get the reaction that they want from people that are too stupid to know that there is a mute button. Second, there's the Youtube trolls, who mess with people on games like Minecraft, Call of Duty, Garry's Mod, and record it and get that Youtube $$$. Usually most Youtube trolls are actually kind people that don't go overboard with trolling. An example of a Youtube troll is Zexyzek, who goes invisible on MC server and messes with random people by turning their house into sponge or making an ocean on their house or something like that, but he rolls everything back and gives the person a few diamonds afterwards. Then there are trolls that just want to bring as much grief as possible to people. These trolls are griefers, the most extreme trolls, in my opinion. From destroying houses on MC servers to hijacking Garry's Mod servers, griefers are the most dangerous trolls. But why do they grief? For lulz. There are also trolls that just pull small, funny pranks on their friends. I believe that most trolls are inconsiderate and selfish, and only care about themselves and their lulz.

Right, okay. But I think you know what I'm trying to get at, because pursuing that particular example and denying that humans ever needed to kill is just not going anywhere.

I think asserting that we ever needed to kill each other ever is more stupid.

You don't like conceding. I guess I'll play along.
I didn't say anything about killing other humans, just killing generally. You were talking about murder, which is the unlawful killing of another human. Killing other humans couldn't have been necessary, but people may have to do it in certain cases like war. However, killing of non-humans/food sources can not be avoided, because we're omnivores and need meat from other animals. But I suppose by not saying killing animals specifically, you were able to use that against me, touché.
Right now our discussion has flown completely off the rails of this thread but that does tend to be way of things.

Yeah that was my fault with the wording, I meant along the lines of something that people used to do in the real world, but now only (or mostly) do in the virtual world. Like killing, it used to be one of the most essential parts of living, but since it so quickly redundant and illegal, we just kinda satisfy that leftover instinct through video games, action movies, etc. because those outlets are now available to us.
Anyways yeah, I also see what you mean.
Implies that the killing you talk about is not killing of animals, but the killing of other people, since you mention legality.
And now your point hinges on the inevitability of War. Which I don't think is true either.

I was talking about murder because of what people have been and are surrounded by. When killing was useful, we were often surrounded by animals we would have justification for killing, even if we were in groups. Nowadays we're surrounded by other humans, who we wouldn't have any valid reason to kill (except in some rare situations, for example if you were Hitler's friend or something). So basically the idea I was trying to express is that killing other creatures around us used to be essential, but isn't anymore, and is also illegal now. Of course an exception could've been made for indigenous tribal people in Africa, Papua New Guinea and so forth, I wasn't applying that idea to people who don't play video games.
Also, my point doesn't hinge on war being inevitable at all, since I didn't say that. I said that killing is inevitable when 'normal' war (as in not like the Cold War) was already happening, because that's the whole idea of war, 'we kill people and/or destroy stuff so we get what we want'. My recent points were that you were mistaken regarding my previous ideas, though they were poorly expressed because I was tired, so I wouldn't blame you. Now I'm trying to explain them properly.
Well its ok up to the point where it affects them in real life for example causing them greif (thats bullying) and costing money (breaking keyboard, computer, hardware etc).
Mostly its funny creatively something that can be fixed like a dong that says someones name on it or something.

That's why I troll sometimes.

Useless things, the concept of our minds.
