Hey guys! I've been seeing a lot of people spamming their youtube channels on the videos of popular Youtubers. Most of these channels aren't great, and they're created by either little kids (not that little kids are bad, but most of these are created by little kids that suck) or they're created badly (IMO, means the vids aren't as great, mic quality/vid quality sucks, etc.).
So, why do people want to become so famous on Youtube? Is it because they want money? Do they want to be loved like a lot of other youtubers? Or do some of them actually get inspiration from others?
It's because they want to be loved like the big YouTubers, and some of them are actually looking to YouTube as a career only to realize that they suck at making videos, leading to them trying to get cheap subscribers by spamming bigger (and therefore more viewed) YouTubers.
Honestly it's for bragging rights. But as stated in the OP, some of them really are sincere and get inspired by Famous youtubers, most of them not being SkyDoesMinecraft.
Because YouTube is the most popular known way that someone can play games and possibly make money at it. It's an easy bait to get people into. That's at least my theory on the gaming side of it, but it can apply to other sectors as well. I mean, doesn't it sound great? Spend a few hours of your day, on your own days, own hours, make videos, and make money while at it? Well, it's essentially like you running your own business and being your own boss! It's such a convincing and wonderfully sounding model that it attracts a lot of people.
I can only imagine that being a YouTube hit pays quite well. Those that are very famous on YouTube seem to live an almost celebrity lifestyle with seemingly endless amounts of cash.

I believe the average rate last time I heard was a dollar per thousand views for partners before deductions from something like Machinima so.... therefore Gangnam Style being uploaded on Youtube made PSY a massive pile of money.
I think because people want some kind of fame and to be known. We all want to be somebody and what better way than YouTube where millions of people go every day to watch various videos. All of us desire to become something, even if we are only known to a few people because we are competitive by nature.
Well, a couple of my friends are youtubers (although not well known), and one of them is partnered with youtubers, and gains 50 cent per view, and he is in it for money. But my other friend just makes videos because they are fun for him, and when I asked him, he said he wanted to be something like Skydoesminecraft and the Yogscast oneday. So that's two reasons for you, the first because: more popularity (and possibly a good partner that advertises you well to add to it)=more views=more money. The second in my opinion is just hopes and dreams really. (Sorry if this made no sense, I might of had no idea what I was talking about)
1. They have no life and no other means of being satisfied with their life, so they aim to get an online fanbase to justify their existance, no matter how truly terrible the videos are.
2. They don't want an actual job and attempt to use YouTube as a fun way of earning money, even though that's like the world's laziest/naive decision to make.
Either way, it's something that really annoys the living crap out of me. The only time it doesn't is when it's a Youtuber that simply posts videos for fun, not for any of the reasons above, and get famous because what they post is good.
Just putting it out there, the rate at which Youtube pays its partners is usually significantly above $1/1k views. I personally have a RPM (rate per thousand) of a tad over $3 (can't legally say anything specific as part of my contract), though Youtube has had an annoying habit of not monetizing some of my videos despite me owning the right to, so less than 10,000 of my 34k odd views have been monetized.
Not that I'm complaining; I made those videos for fun and wasn't expecting to make anything from it (technically I haven't- you need to break $100 before they give you any of the money...).

Though the money helps.
I have a Spoon. Your argument is invalid.
Most of them suck at the video games to the extent where they can't really move to South Korea and start playing Starcraft 2 for a living.

That and they want people to know who they are, as though to be slightly...selfish.
South Korea has a lot more professional gaming than the rest of the world. A lot of it is SC2.
