I'd bring
1- an Avtomat Kalashnikova with several thousand rounds, spare magazines, and a suppressor. (I'm not a huge fan, but they're known for working well in dirty conditions that affect most other guns)
2- a network of automated cameras to record me.
3- duct tape
4- medical supplies
5- a station from which I can broadcast my new show "Extreme island hunting"
Pretty much the same thing as I would do stranded on an island.
I would probably but it in a high-yield CD for 10 years and just use the interest. For example, a 10-year CD through Discover Bank (1.95% APY) would start paying out approximately $20,000 per year in interest. That means that after 10 years, you would have $1,210,000!
That's probably what I'd do also. Maybe before putting money in a CD, I'd buy a nice gaming computer and motercycle, but beyond that I'd just put it all into a CD.
Probs give most of it away, save enough for a decent world trip and paying off my student loan. Maybe buy a faster car when I'm old enough so I don't feel so ripped off by insurance...
Pay off the the collective bills that my family doesn't have the money for right now, repair everything that's broken in my house (including several holes in walls), some hospital and dentist visits, and get a nice stockpile of food. Afterwhich, I would get a good gaming PC and possibly a nice television.
Whatever remains can be put away for the future.
If you had one million dollars what would you do with it?
I would boringly invest it all in real estate and live off the rental income it would provide me. Interested to know what others would do.
I'm with you on this one. Rental properties are easy living even with crap tenants every once in a while.
Charity's always rub me the wrong way. Give them money? For what? Less than half actually goes to the cause and a few of the well known ones I looked into it's under 15%. If I cared enough about a cause I'd donate directly to the village/families/shelters/etc. At least I know it's not keeping some CEO's pockets lined.
Well, I'd want to save it, so basically I would do what I normally do except maybe work less hours and spend a bit more than I normally do. Nothing major.
What I would do if I had that much? Buy a gaming computer with all of the expensive crap that a lot of youtubers have and more.
My suggestion to kids? Save it up for college. Spend a bit here and there.
My suggestion to older people? Finally propose to your gf.
Nothin'. Probably save it till I needed money desperately, but a million dollars really wouldn't cover your entire life of living worry-free. Especially if you're someone like me, who'd spend like a quarter of it on day one!
I'm suprised that I saw what you did there.
Oh, yeah.
I forgot that he lives in Massachusetts.
And I forgot that I lived In Connecticut.
Ahhh...
WAIT.
Pretty much the same thing as I would do stranded on an island.
