Recently, while petting my kitty, I felt a strange bump on his head. Mistaking it for a burr, I yanked it out. Upon examination, it appeared to be a small, round-ovalish, shelled bug. I dropped it from surprise, and I think it scuttled away. It was about a 4th the size of my fingernail.
Anyway, I want to know if this is some sort of pet-bug. If it helps, I live in IL and this cat likes to go outside and go under evergreen bushes. The inside of my house is generally clean and I don't think that is where he got it.
I'm not really worried about this, just curious. If any of you reading this are pet experts, or you have just seen this before, I'd like to know! I've conducted several Google searches, and it is not the "varied carpet beetle" (which was most of my results).
The Commies count their quarters and the ArtSci wish they could, the Engs have the longest pole and slam it home for good, so big, so hard, so tall, it reaches all the way to heaven, so shut your hole, we climbed the pole, we're sci 1 ing 7!!!
Probably a tick that hadn't attached to your cat yet. As the others have said, keep it away from your hair and take it to a vet, or at least give it some sort of bath.
Thanks, guys. I took it to the vet. I described the bug to them, and they gave it some sort of bath in the back. He smells like horrible now, but it worked.
dude, thats a tick, they latch onto warm-blooded creatures with fur/hair and drink there blood, sometimes spreading disease, you should give the cat a bath or take it to the vet right away!

Yea my username is a collaberation of my real names, deal with it.
Meet a blood-sucking tick, not to be confused with a humorous blue super-hero.
It seems the only thing left for me to say is, I've found one on my back one.
I had to get a sibling to pull it out. Considering, like someone else said, it hadn't latched on, your tick came off quickly.
They pulled it off with tweezers, but the head was still there, so it got infected. They say the best way to take a tick off is by sliding it off with a knife, but I would use a spoon.

Check out the Fantasy City Build Challenge - it's pretty amazing!
it will bite you and infect you with autism and the only way to cure yourself is to stop playing building games for a year.

It will work.
