Maths is boring... Lets discuss something interesting... like Red dwarf!
Maths are fuun.

Do not wallow do not stall
Time waits for none at all
Your allowance may crawl,
It may fly or even vanish
But none will seem more lavished
Than time lost to all.

The boxes are there to show the logic behind the formula. A triangle is just half a square. So treat is like a square and then half it.
Oh. Those squares.
I'm not sure what square he was talking about actually. And triangles are half rectangles, not squares. Significant difference.

Find the area of the rectangle then the area of the triangle. Add them together.

You can't make 3D out of 2D, that's silly.
Cubes do have a square surface though.

Aha, so on teh first one, I do 6 x 3 / 2 and get the answer from it, and then do the same that is above teh first one, and then add the answers up?
Nooooooo. The rectangle is still a rectangle, so you don't do any division. Take the area of the rectangle, and then take the area of the triangle, then add then together.
Algebraically, it's shown like this: (6*3)+((6*2)/2)
So you can cancel out the division. So the equation looks like this: (6*3)+6
Not forgetting spambot flagging...
Same thing. Just use the base * height / 2
Wait for time

So rather than dealing with complaints about posts, you work with people sucking up too? Awesome.
The little squares are there to tell you that the height is perpendicular to the base.

I didn't know what it was until now.
Never even heard of it.
Sorry. Square implies all sides are equal.
Simply square = minecraft.
Not really. It's all cubes. There's a difference there too.

That's not hard. That's just simple addition. How wide is the first triangle?
Cubes are made of squares.
Yes, but cubes are not squares.

Yeah. You can't say that cubes are atoms. The relation between the two only goes so far.

6*3 is 18, and 18 plus 6 is 24. Done.
