Strained your eyes reading a thread? I think you need glasses my friend.
Not yet, I just have this bad habit of leaning closer to things when I focus intently on them, like trying to decipher what was typed several posts ago. I do the same thing soldering, or threading a needle, or working on a tricky thermo problem.
It's not very hard to understand txt talk. but your example "Their is my water I'm looking for" is an instance of something I would think they need to spell. But even then, I don't flame them about it.

Also text talk on a computer is outright lazy and unnecessary. Its just my opinion that if they can't put in the effort to type out their thought, chances are it wasn't that important it was shared. Makes me less likely to take it seriously.
I never flame people because of grammar. But I'm more likely to a start a conversation with a person with good grammar, that's just how my mind works. Bad grammar brings a tiny bit of negativity to my thoughts about the person. It shows that they either don't care or don't know English good enough. Though if English isn't their main language most of the mistakes are forgivable.
I always though of the Internet as a informal way of communicating. Like you shouldn't have to be grammatically correct. As in school or writing a letter you should be.

I reread it. I do understand where you are coming from. And I do agree that people who aren't bothered to type out full words are lazy. But still, I'm not on this forum to teach people English am I? I can put my time on here to better use. Instead of flaming people, take the time to understand what they are saying, then help them.

I agree. I would rather start a conversation with someone who seems educated or is at least not half minded.
There simply must be some cost attached to sloppy communication. I don't go out of my way to correct grammar or spelling unless it's a news site that should know better. However, I do support giving commenters a hard time for their use of grammar and spelling on subjects they themselves are opinionated about. Clear use of language is a remarkably good indicator of overall intelligence, though as other commenters have pointed out, exceptions should be made for those new to English as long as they are understandable. Let's face it, the red squiggles should be enough to let one know there is an issue (I refuse to change 'commenters'!)
I don't care much about grammar. I only care about punctuation and spelling. Anything else makes me think the poster is a 5 year old and I can't take them seriously.
As long as you can understand what they're trying to say I don't see why people feel a need to go out of their way to point out bad grammar. Especially since there are plenty of people here that English is not their first language.

You can't change people. You can only plant the seeds that will chip away at their emotional barriers, and drift past their defenses. Eventually growing into the knowledge that allows them to choose if they want to change themselves.
Aka, flaming is pointless. People only withdraw under pressure.
Trying to imply English is amazing. Trying to imply we couldn't easily remove 3 whole letters from the alphabet.
Sea, see. Mace, case, face, race, lace.
Through, threw, though, might, light, kite.
Try to say that makes sense.
Im america english is exactly what we want it to be. There is however a set grammar system that should be upheld otherwise our chaotic language will spiral into oblivion.
