I'm with you Capindoody. Why we need p.e.? Do p.e. is waste time then after p.e. you're so tired to concentrate with the class.
You're tired because you aren't used to exercise.
Regular exercise elevates the mood, helps the body regulate sleep and improves memory retention in children. (Three important things that determine your success in school) Sporadic exercise is just a stopgap between tubby children huffing like pigs, before they eat like pigs. If anything, Physical Education should be every day and more intensive.
When you grow up and recognize that man-boobs aren't an attractive quality in men, you'll discover the importance of regular exercise. Then you'll be paying monthly fees to do the same thing you did in Physical Education at school, at a Gym.
Maybe now is a good time to take Physical Education more seriously - While it's still free.

I find the tendency for formal exercise interesting. Why can't we all just play tag and throw rocks around, climb trees and such? It's how children stay fit.
I don't do P.E. any more due to what is either jumper's knee or early arthritis (we aren't even sure any more)
I don't believe P.E. should be a compulsory subject. Then again, I don't think any subjects should be compulsory.
Well mate, in our shitty country everything is compulsory.
The government here is messed up. Giving billions of funds to religious cunts, forcing people to serve 3 years in the army while letting religious people get away with it, shitty public services, shitty education and so on.

"God put two white people in the jungle without sunscreen. And they [had intercourse] and now we got people. We got Black people, Arab people, Oriental people and with the amount of inbreeding, very few retards. It seems so plausible!"
I never liked P.E, mainly because there were very little options. They need to give students a bit of freedom when choosing exercise. It's useless showing up to class and expecting everyone to run 5kms within a certain time frame.
I hate P.E
Im the type what prefers logic to sports.
Plus, logic is what ends up earning you the most cash later on in your life. Physical strength won't help for ****.

You're going to have to do things in life whether you want to or not. P.E. is one of them, but it is actually good for you. Without P.E., I really wouldn't have an idea of how to keep myself healthy and more importantly, how to do proper weight-lifting and good cardio exercises.
In middle school, my P.E. was pretty tough, but I just dealt with it every day and gave it the best effort. Only good things can come out of exercise, besides maybe being a little tired or a few sore muscles. Yesterday at bowling practice (yes, bowling) I had to do 160 pushups to make up for my missed spares. I did all 160 full-effort, what good would half-assing them do for me?
tl;dr, at least how they teach it in my school districts, it's important.
When you're doing P.E., do you ever wonder when you'll need it? When are you ever going to need to run back and forth to do something? When you don't do it, you get a bloody detention! I, for one, hate it. I think it is a waste of time, but that's just my opinion. I think it should just be optional at high school for those people that do and do not like it.
What do you think?
-Capindoody-
I actually kinda liked it. I liked the running and pushups more than I did the actual sports, because I suck at sports. But to be honest, I'm going down the path of out-of shapeness right now. When I was in P.E. I could do like 35 pushups (chin touching the ground) and now I can only do like.. 5 pushups. When you get older you're gonna need to work out and **** if you plan on not getting diabetes and dying at 50.
Plus, logic is what ends up earning you the most cash later on in your life. Physical strength won't help for ****.
P.E. isn't about physical strength. You don't go there and do 100 pushups a day. You just get physical activity and it keeps people in shape. Sure, you'll earn more money with brains, but if you sit around all day you're gonna be incredibly unhealthy and probably die younger than you should without physical activity.
PE's great. You should always try and get in shape while you're young, as you've got a higher metabolism so putting on muscle's easier. It might not seem it now, but being fit's well worth in the long run.
A.) it keeps you fit and healthy b.) it gets you away from sitting in math class for example, when will you actually ever need to use half the things you learn in math? When will i need to know what happened during the civil war? You however will need to be healthy and you will need to be fit for the your life less you want it to end sooner c.) if u cant be active and have fun for a good 30-40 minutes you're just lazy.

Do I think that sports can be fun and being fit is extremely important? Yes, I do. Do I think Physical Education is an important and, at least here in England, compulsory part of our school curriculum? No, not in the slightest. At the end of the day, forcing kids to do two hours a week of sports is not going to stop them growing up to become overweight as out of school they'll still eat junk food or do no physical activity whatsoever. So, in my opinion, why waste these two hours a week on a useless lesson when statistically plenty of people at the age of fourteen still struggle with basic English writing/reading skills.
It's more about converting the ones on the fence (Tubby, but not outright obese.) into a healthy lifestyle, rather than trying to save the ones who've been indoctrinated into morbidly obese families who don't care about the damage they're doing to their children. (Until they're pulled onto Maury Povich where they'll just blubber about how hard it is to raise a child, and pretend it isn't their fault..)
Physical Education has massive benefits to the quality of life, as well as the capability of learning in children. Removing it, Recess or Lunch time will further hamper an already ailing school system. Like I said, if anything, more time needs to be devoted. It may also be wise to place kids into classes based on their current physical fitness so a morbidly obese kid won't be expected to pull off a 10 minute mile.
Yes, you may assume what you want.
And you may assume that people who think P.E is "dumb" have no clue on what they are speaking about.
Agreed. I have no idea who else would want to turn down the fun sportings and dodge ball of PE.
We don't work all day in the hot sun anymore. Daily exercise is absolutely required to make up for it.
I'm finally back. See profile for details.

Like anime? Try Visual Novels.

I mean, 100 Question mid-term, tests almost every week, written drill EVERY DAY (then 30 minutes to go over it)
So no, at the state it is currently in, we don't need it.

You get more out of exercise than just physical strength.
