I wonder what the meta-discussion to actual discussion ratio for this thread is.
Probably pretty high.

Do not wallow do not stall
Time waits for none at all
Your allowance may crawl,
It may fly or even vanish
But none will seem more lavished
Than time lost to all.
One way to revive a chat thread is to start a discussion. If you can't think of anything... Go do something else until someone does. Not like the thread is going anywhere anytime soon anyway.
That was a lot of "any"'s.

Just noticed my computer PSU is a CX600 V2 rather than a crappier V1.
Makes me happy since crappy ones go boom.
What's the actual difference?
I'm still using the PSU that came with my computer when I bought it 4 years ago. It's 450w and it's been plenty so far.

OEM and other cheaper brands don't have as good protection circits and can exploded and take other components with it.
The V1 Corsair CX series was Chinese made and a little iffy while the V2 are made by Seasonic a reliable PSU brand.
The function keys wont work, the mouse curser decides to move on its own into a corner of the screen half the time, one screen hinge has come out, the screen tends to get hortibally distoreted into a huge mess of lines and requires us to bend the screen untill it becomes legable again, it has about 250MB spare storage, 600MB max, it gets really hot very fast, its very nosy when it runs, its os is lucid puppy, it grinds to a halt and freezes up if you try to load the momepage of this website.
It has a nice clunky keyboard and it has perl on it so i only use it for perl coding really.

Sounds to me like you could use a new computer.

If you ever plan to upgrade to a newer graphics card or something for gaming, you may want to update to a 600W or 750W. 450W is fine for the most part, but if you have things like extra fans and powerful GPUs, that PSU will probably suck :tongue.gif:

I know, but I don't plan on upgrading my GPU anytime soon.
All I can foresee upgrading is my CPU, but for now it's alright(intel [email protected], dual core).

I made a rather nice list of parts for a decent web browsing desktop.

Well you should be fine with 450W then :smile.gif:
P.S.- If your motherboard supports Phenom II processor, you may want to try a Phenom II X4 840
It's quad core at 3.2GHz and it's only about 60 bucks. It's not as powerful as intel processors, but it's very cheap for a quad core, especially.

Lots of bbcode
O.O awesome... *in awe*
Had to make my siggy like this now.
Edit: Ace is now appeased the matter of pie shall be dropped forever.
Anyway I should be going or else I will be exhausted when I get up tomorrow. So I will talk to you all later.
