I don't try to use gay in my vocabulary. It just slips out on accident. Thankfully my friends aren't offended by it. I only use gay to be funny. Gay shouldn't be used to describe homosexuals.
Similarly, I do try to not use it to describe other homosexual people. Only myself. It's become sort of a habit, is all.

I'm going to choose to ignore you and your grammatical errors this time.
I see nothing wrong with identifying people as "Gay" if they engage in homosexual activity, it's the use of "Gay" to describe things they don't like, or using it as a demeaning term that's upsetting.
For someone with the username "For_the_lolz", you seem very serious about grammar.
Oh look at you mr(.). smarty pants(,) thinking your so smart for correcting someone's grammar. Stop acting like your smart please because smart people don't do dumb things like that.(bad sentence structure)

Correct me if I'm wrong, but wasn't there a period of time when gay was defined as happy? I think gay better fits happy over what it's used for now. To me, gay sounds demeaning when used to describe a homosexual.

You are true, but people assign meaning to verbal/literary syntax, not the other way around. Gay is not the only word to change in its meaning, though the only that I can think of at this moment.
Considered it stems from a meaning of "being happy" I really don't see it as offensive in any case, neither would I have consider "******" to be offensive, it stems from the word "Negro" meaning black(As far as history lessons have taken me), and that's what people of African nature are, black (Or brown but you understand). The problem only arises in the way that these words are used to identify people (And in the case of "Gay" several other things as well) in a negative demeanor.
I feel that "Gay" should really just be a simple adjective, overshadowed by "Human".

Now that I think about it, being happy would be more of a compliment than an insult, which should mean that gay would be a compliment, but sadly, this isn't the case.
I give you +1 for your intelligent reply, and purple text.
Ex A: "<Insert name> is Gay."
Probably not disrespectful at all, just a statement with gay used as an appropriate adjective.
Ex B: "Ugh, <insert name> is so Gay >_>"
Probably used in a disrespectful way.
So again, it really just depends on how you say it, even the more technically correct term "Homosexual" can be said in a way as to be hurtful or demeaning.

Oh, WHOOPS >///< (To many distractions...)

I think it is overused, and should not be used at all. Fag is rude and disrespectful. It seems these days, the only argument someone can put up is " fag ". If you're going to argue with me, come up with a better argument than fag. Using also makes you look like a ****, regardless of whether you're trying to be or not.

It is less about what is said, nor how, it is about the tone it is said in, the attitude.
And since tone/attitude is hard to detect on the internet, it is best to keep such words to yourself, lest someone take it the wrong way and get offended.
I call some people fags all the time, but just because they are my friends.

Well no offense, but plox, plOx, and pl0x are the most annoying words ever invented. Just say please, or plz. Definitely don't say pl. Sorry I am a semi-grammar nazi.

Yeah he is, the person above me explained that.
I don't want this to turn into a grammar nazi war, but you made a mistake, he corrected it, deal with it.
Aren't you a big boy.
I never made a mistake, someone else did.
And yes I am a big boy.
No, you clearly did.
Hopefully I didn't miss anything

Oh my god it is winter break not English class.
Also fag means lots of things I recall like cigarettes and sticks and old ladies.
Yes it was, but words change meanings over time.
This is true. I can see how gay changed definitions

Hey, I say plox all the time!
