hello everyone.
yes we all know it's fake but i'm here to explane wat it does.
don't get me wrong, i just want you to be 100% safe.
firsty the person who posts this things is a "bot".
that means what ever we say or do, he will just keep posting the same thing.
every time the "bot" gives a link to the same site.
the site looks like this:
no matter what the link is, it will get you to the same site.
afther you click the "CLICK HERE" botton it will send you to this site:
see the "generated gift code" as the name.
that adds the toght about if it is real or not.
if you click the "regular download" you will have to complite a survey.
the survey will make you use your credit card (most of the time)
after you complite the survey you get the following thing:
1. a virus
2. a TXT file with randomly generated letters and numbers.
3. your credit card cracked (if you used it)
the gift code will NEVER work, you get a virus and he gets money.
one of the forumers say:
Minecraft has a login page. With that said, in the past with other online games, scammers have sent emails saying you've been banned or that you've won a free item. These emails claim to be from the game developers. BE AWARE of these emails. Look at email headers and NEVER click on the links.
In the near future, it wouldn't surprise me if someone comes up with some fake emails to get you to login to a fake Minecraft website. What it will do is save your login information and steal your account. ALWAYS go directly to the Minecraft website to login to your account. Never login from and email link.
i hope i helped you, so be carfull!

Please keep this thread alive so we can all be safe.
Ho ho, what a witty observation of a typographical error, without adding anything of even the slightest relevance to the discussion.
I've not actually seen any bots posting "free Minecraft" links in this section, do they tend to do it somewhere else on the forums?
no, they send you to the same site.
just be carfull people.
i REALLY don't want anyone to get robbed by some scammer.
EDIT: great, i see that 16 members are watching this and one of them is a moderator.
Hope you guys could help out with this
report that website so the website could be taken down
goto: http://www.google.com/support/blogger/bin/request.py?contact_type=spam
and type in the website that need to be report: minecraftfreefree.blogspot.com
the more people report the more chance the website to be taken down :smile.gif:
These target Mapping and Modding mostly. If you see any please report the thread and LEAVE IT ALONE. If you post, you bump it and the more exposure it gets the bigger the likelihood of someone getting scammed by it.

Although, most of us on these forums own Minecraft already, so we wouldn't want a free copy anyways. Also, if you use a bit of your brain you'd see if there's one on TPB (The Pirate Bay) first. And there is, btw. I've bought mine, though.
you are 100% right.
also , every one knows it is fake.
i just wanted to add the warning to everyone.
But seriously, why would we want to know what happens if we do surveys on those sites? We're already aware there are nameless terrors lurking behind them, and man always fears the unknown more, no matter how horrible the truth is.
It's a bit similar to how they go around in schools telling the pupils why smoking is so horrible. It doesn't change the fact a lot of those same pupils will still do it or start doing it a little later. The logical conclusion this allows would be as follows: They look at the pictures of their lungs after smoking, they listen to the talk, they think "Oh, that's not so bad then, I thought smoking would actually kill you quickly" and suddenly they're more prone to smoking.
It's a theory just like any other.
knowing it, is it's weekness.
but really, thik about it for a second.
if you didn't konw about it would you get away from it?
I draw the parallel to the charlatans of the 1800's. Selling bogus medication to every conceivable ailment. People mostly knew it was fake. But they bought it anyway.
Firstly, this is related to Minecraft in some way(Minecraft accounts), so it does NOT belong here.
Secondly, if it's free, it's too god damn good to be true.
Fourth, you will notice that I skipped the third one.
Actually, WE put it in here so don't be to fast in jumping on the Wrong Section board. :happy.gif:
did you read the comments?
i clearly said: "i know you all know that this is fake, but i want to explane what it does"
so please, watch the comments befor commenting.
