If I'm going through a door and someone is behind me, I hold it open for them, regardless of gender. Do I go out of my way to treat females better? Hell no, I believe in equality.

I hold doors open for everyone. Women, men, minorities, it doesn't matter.
Sometimes, I'll hold open a door for a woman, and she gets all self-righteous at me, refuses to go through the door, and insists I go first.
Ungrateful *****.
Ok, that only actually happened once, but it kinda baffled me. I later learned that she was a super hardcore feminist, and would rather die than appear weak in front of a man.
I think she was just jealous that I have a beard, and she can't grow one.

As a girl, I don't like it when people do it for me! Why should I be treated differently because I'm a woman? I'm a person like everyone else, so just treat me that way, like a person. Gender equality!
This bothers me. It's a door not a metaphor for women being inferior, or an insinuation women are weaker, although the average women is physically weaker than the average male. It's a damn door.
Nope looks like I got her idea right. She doesn't like to be treated differently, and is assuming the door is being held open cause shes a women. You may have missed the end of my quote Ill put it in here so you dont miss it.
"and I dont only hold the door for women."

Look it's big red text!
Now that being said. Ponies.
I try to on my own, but if people are dicks and feel entitled, well then the glove's off. Common courtesies are nice and all, and not partaking is rude, but pointing it out can be pretty inappropriate in my opinion. Also kind of condescending, in a "eat your vegetables" kind of way. Like a parent teaching a kid how to live in modern land, if you catch the drift.

Uhh, difficult dilemma, as 'people' means man/woman. Why does gender equality means being equal to men?
Genders are different, at biologica and psychological levels.
I don't see what makes a woman so important that i should let her go into a room first and open doors for her and things like that. I thought we were supposed to be equal.

Yes, it's being sexist. Doesn't mean you're not being "nice".
If you're opening the door entirely based on the fact she's a "lady" then it's sexist. If you're doing it because she has tons of bags or anything like that, then it's not.
... Oright. So, let me get this straight. If a man opens a door for an unladen/disabled woman he is a sexist pig. Not because he has a kind heart and would like to be nice to said woman.
So every time I have held a door open for my girlfriend or mother I've really been offending them. That's why they said "thank you".

Why is everything you say amazing?
ONTOPIC: No.
Really let's quote it to be sure?
And me to for good measure.

I believe in the best of people.
Even knowing the corruption is in everybody.

I personally believe ladies should be 2nd, 4th, and 5th. Naturally that leaves men with positions 1, 3, and 6.

This is exactly my opinion.
So being nice to a woman and opening a door for her is being sexist? Never helping a woman again.

This is exactly what I do and it is what I think everybody should do.
