2080 is gonna rock! There are going to be so many technological advances.
Are you kidding me...? Technology is nothing compared to what we had back then...
Chopin, Beethoven, Van Gogh, Tchaikovsky.....
need I go on? There's no way 2080 can beat that.

Tchaikovsky & Beethoven are overrated =P I'd much rather listen to Grieg, Strauss & Bartok
with today's technology you can still listen to all of their work, in much better audio quality, and there is nothing stopping you from viewing Van Gogh's work now

All right i've been thinking.. when life gives you lemons, don't make lemonade, MAKE LIFE TAKE THE LEMONS BACK. GET MAD! I DON'T WANT YOUR DAMN LEMONS! WHAT AM I SUPPOSED TO DO WITH THESE?
Once again, I didn't look past the first post, so I don't know what kind of arguments have been going on.
That said, for the record, I'm actually 19. So.
AAAAnd I'm totally wrong about the issue, but I saw the whole "music was better thing" and jumped right on it.

Still young enough to be ignorant, you don't know what living in those times were like, you only know what you've read or seen what the media tells you, please, don't try to tell me that time was good.
And to soulfox, what spaceghost said, and trust me, getting a field amputation with a hacksaw is not fun, and not that I would know, but that's what I've heard they used, plus, sickness, not as much food, a lot more danger.

I guess you didn't read my whole post, but here, I'll try to somehow dumb it down:
The 60's and 70's DID suck in (nearly) every way compared to now. The exception being music, which actually incorporated some talent and actually sounded like not-crap.
Of course I don't actually know what it was like to live then, but I'm free to have my opinions about the music from the time.

So, why would you just jump a page and "wholeheartedly agree" with the OP?
EDIT: Well, just read through your other posts, and there it was, but we're both in the wrong, you said "my whole post" which wasn't that long, and I didn't read through your other posts.

I'm talking about the major artistic movement. Beethoven and Tchaikovsky aren't overrated, they barely get any appreciation now.
The only reason people might think the music from that time rocked compared to now is because you only remember the good pieces. The rest have been forgotten, and the same will happen to us. Popular music from these times takes about as much talent as popular music today, it's just a matter of taking off your nostalgia goggles and dropping your prejudice. You can't take a whole genre of era of music and label it as bad. You will like pieces from that era or genre, even if it's just a handful. Frankly I wouldn't go back to these times for any amount on money n-n

It may fly or even vanish
But none will seem more lavished

Hey man, don't get me wrong, some rappers are pretty talented just being able to, uh, speak that fast to a beat.
But seriously, Eminem is pretty brilliant with the lyrics to those songs. I guess what I hate is most pop music from pretty much any time. Kesha sucks just as much as some shitty artist from the 60's, it's just that the ones in the sixties didn't have to rely on auto-tune just to stay on key.

Jesus. I hate when everyone acts like rap music is about "speaking fast to a beat."

Yeah, that was pretty dickish of me. But I'm being honest, some of it is really good.

Ah, that was surprising. Common Market is pretty good, if I do say so myself. Well, based upon your taste in rap, all is forgiven my son. :wink.gif:

When someone points out that I'm wrong, I try to agree instead of arguing. Makes me feel less like another douchebag on the internet...
This song does kick a lot of ass.
Beethoven and Tchaikovsky aren't overrated, they barely get any appreciation now.
no offense, but you're 14 so of course your peers don't have appreciation for them
both of their works get a ton of use in commercials, tv shows & movies
before I discuss more classical, I'm curious, how much classical do you listen to? Just the few songs by the composers EVERYBODY knows like Beethoven, Tchaikovsky, Vivaldi, Mozart or do you actually to the genre?

So true.
THIS was the nightmare that was the 70's. A nightmare I still wake up from, screaming, in a cold sweat...
You could not pay me to go back to the 70's

First: Good catch! That is, unless I was 14-15. I'm 19, and taking driver's ed. Yeah it's weird, but I never had time before. Sorry for the confusion.
