I remember people from their avatars too. Otherwise it just gets annoying. Like it is now. Now that half the posters here have changed their avatar.
Yes; I tend to recognize people by their avatars first and username second; the avatar I started out with here was entirely temporary until I could decide which piece of my collection of OC art I should use here.
I read too much, I do not really imagine people's text as actual voices, but just the words in their pure forms of what is meant.
But then, IRL I have a great deal of trouble recognizing people by their voices. I call my family and I never know who it is, or even if it is one of my sisters or one of my brothers. I also suck at recognizing voice actors; if I hadn't been told that John DiMaggio was the voice of Jake the Dog (Adventure Time) and Bender (Futurama) I might never have guessed it for myself.
I imagine different fonts in different voices though. If someone goes and changes their size to small, I think they are whispering, for example, and if they use Comic Sans I imagine that Goofy is speaking.
That is why I have a hard time recognizing Cliff.

What the hell do I sound like, if my avatar conveys my voice?

That is the anthem, the slogan, the summary of events

And what the hell does "undead" sound like?
All skeletons are british gentlemen silly.

It's hard to explain. Monotone, but with a splash of emotion, also a tad bit of MANLY GRUFFNESS.

That's exactly what I meant!
Oh, Tye, I imagine you having a young, manly voice.
