I know it's a very broad statement, but try and imagine a stereotypical hipster. What do you like/dislike about those stereotypes, do you believe them? Do you hate all hipsters?
I know a few arrogant people and a hipster ain't one.
But seriously, what is your view on the whole "hipster" thing, yay or nay?
I, for one, can't stand generalizations. Just because someone wears skinny jeans and horn-rimmed glasses doesn't mean they will be white, middle-class, arrogant, ass-holes who only care about themselves.

I wear skin-tight jeans, I wear glasses (Becas-- long story.), I wear Vans slip-ons, and I have medium shaggy hair.
But I will admit, I am not arrogant, or a hipster.
Edit: Pretty much, I look generic.

That's pretty much me, also. Except my Vans are shoelaced, and my hair is longer. I just hate labels.

I'm getting a hair cut at 2 PM, so it'll be a bit shorter.
If anybody would like pictures of my haircut and new glasses, just let me know.:3

I do a whole bunch of **** ironically and listen to some really obscure music but other than that I can safely say that I'm not much of a hipster.

The inquisitors were torturing Harry.
First, Ignatius used the rock.
Then Billy asked Harry if he wanted to read his BDSM blog. Harry was so surprised that his pants flew right off. He was wearing women's underpants. The inquisitors were wearing them, too.
Imagining the most stereotypical hipster possible...
Okay, I don't like him because... He has a fashion sense completely tailored to satisfying current trends, and its an appalling fashion at that. He thinks far too highly of himself. He does ****-all awful at anything regarding his education and he acts like someone he isn't to make scores of friends. He makes ear-raking and unoriginal music with the help of his similarly-problematic friends. He doesn't respect authority. He thinks he will lead a great, prosperous life by being a hit in the music industry.
-genuine hipsters, who are pleasant people who like nice music and have a relaxed and amusing (almost hippie-like) outlook on life. These hipsters/hippies don't actually work to deserve their label and do no effort to be recognized as such, whatever their personal taste in music/clothes may be. They lead their life by their own standards (and sadly turn out to be pennyless indie musicians later)
I think you're talking about what they actually call an 'Indie' person.
Indie girls are so amazing.c:

I dislike hipsters because it's very hard to tell them apart from gay guys. Imagine my frustration when I start hitting on someone and it turns out they're just a hipster!
No not really. Douche bag is more like an arrogant, buff, alcoholic, ass-hole. Kind of like a frat boy. Hipsters are more into fashion trends, don't listen to popular music, think highly of themselves. Not really the same at all. Of course these are all labels and generalizations, but... y'know.
A douchebag is the sort of person who flips the collar up on their polo shirt, cannot find New Zealand on a map and photoshops abs onto their myspace profile picture.

Douchebags don't know how to use photoshop.
Let alone even know know what it is.

I sure as hell don't look like that though. Love Indie though. But, "Hipster" isn't much different from the dumb "Nerd" and "Jock" stereotypes. They are all stupid.

Here's a brief outline of what a typical hipster would be described as;

Ironically so.
