Anyone have any alternatives to itunes? >_< I hate the 'you can only sync your ipod to this itunes library an no others and i'll make it over complicated for you to add music files because some of them are duplicates!' xD I thought i saw that winamp can manage an ipod library...and ephpod is a bit screwry with 5th gen ipods...but anyways someone halp?
get a zune, they are actually fantastic. you wont look back. only thing with the zune is the ZuneHD is getting to be out of date with 1 or 2 common features: no camera (if you care) and no speakers. sooner or later they will come out with a new zune im sure though.

Matt, seriously, stop trolling. So can you please shut the **** up and go troll the infdev forums about how much you want to get 10 bucks from your hobo house?

iTunes is completely ****ed up on 64bit Windows. It's actually made my iPods completely unusable. Like, at all. It broke 2 iPods simply because Apple cannot be bothered to "Quality Assure" their products. Even the most recent iTunes update didn't do anything to resolve the problem.
Congratu****lations Apple, I now have a very expensive brick. Infact, it's not even good as a brick. Hell it's not good for anything other than a projectile to throw at Steve Jobs' face. Even then, I'd have to follow THAT up with something heavier.
Grooveshark is an amazing music streaming service that allows you to upload music and listen to over eight million listed songs for free, it doesn't even require registration. No pop ups either. I've been using it for a few months now, it is amazing.
If you want an actually decent iTunes-equivalent, check out foobar
Foobar is not a resource hog like iTunes. Foobar doesn't have half a dozen useless features. Foobar never crashes. Foobar is *completely* customizable. Foobar can play every single file type that ever was and ever will be. Foobar does one thing, and one thing only: play music and do it well. Best of all, foobar - as the only media player out there - automatically synchronizes its content with that of any map you choose. No more silly importing. And did I mention it is free? Because it totally is.
If you use WMP, there's a plugin that lets you sync with an iPod.
If you have iPod Touch then you can jailbreak it and buy PwnTunes from Cydia, which makes the iPod show up as a USB drive when you plug it in and lets you copy music to and from it with your regular file manager.
I really don't get what's so complicated about iTunes and iPods.
Agreed. What's all this "syncing" stuff the OP is talking about? I just drag stuff from the main playlist into my ipod icon, it's simple and fast.
What I want is an mp3 player that can handle formats other than mp3's. I really want one that could play module formats, because I am totally into chiptunes and they sound less good in mp3 format.
