Liberals really need to understand that there is no such thing as "free," they seem to think that money comes out of nowhere and that their nanny state, with all of it's government-run programs, can sustain itself without any money at all. They make claims like "free healthcare" and "more government-run programs for the poor" and other claims, but it isn't really free. It comes at the tax payers expense, this is what the liberals don't tell you. You're going to have to pay higher taxes to support someone you don't know or care about, solely because they aren't intelligent enough to support themselves. I understand that some people actually do need help, such as people with disabilities, but people who are able-bodied, but just can't hold down or find a job, they shouldn't be receiving any government help. What do you think of liberals who falsely throw around the word "free"?

Maybe if we didn't spend so much money on killing civilians in the Middle-East, then those programs truly could come into existence with little to no rise in taxes.
Oh yeah, also:

A lower defense budget would be really great, but that's not even the majority of the problem.
One of the major problems is that a lot of people are not paying taxes. Everyone and their mother demonizes the IRS, as if they're an evil government department trying to take all of our money so we starve. Did you know that about 50% of America doesn't pay taxes? And don't even get me started about corporations who hide their money offshore.
I think you are trolling and don't really know it lol. But I agree. I don't think republicans could have saved our economy if McCain won either. Either party running would have sunk balls deep in ****. Im not for either party but I have more conservite thoughts and beliefs.

I agree. Tax evasion is a really pressing issue, as are corporations who conceal money. Another thing we could do would be to cut the Bush Tax cuts. That would create much more revenue.

It's not just the War in Afghanistan. Nobody in America wants to be socialist. You Europeans can keep your socialism and your "free" healthcare. We'll keep our guns and our freedom.

I think education could be improved a lot as well. I'm not saying we need to cut funding to it, but it does receive more than defense and seems to be declining rather than improving. We need new, more effective methods of education or better teachers—or, better still, both.

I'm an American, and I support Universal Healthcare, as does almost everybody that I know. Actually, only 53% of Americans support a repeal (that's a fairly small majority).
Also, if you're so adamant about freedom, why don't you make topics about gay marriage, transgender rights, women's rights, the Patriot Act, and the plethora of other rights Americans lack?

Only 53%? Where did you get that statistic? Over 30 states have ruled it unconstitutional. Also, the Patriot Act has nothing to do with conservativism or libertarianism, your argument is flawed.

Again, I agree. Education needs to be improved. I would favor changing our so that it is more similar to Germany's (not the same, but similar). I think that adding tracking into high school would work wonders.

It's a hell of a lot better than conservatives, who love to spend, spend, spend while lowering taxes. Hey guys, let's get into trillion-dollar wars while lowering tax revenue by a trillion dollars over the next 10 years! That's sure to make the deficit go down! What? It's not? Let's just raise the debt ceiling by $5 trillion, then!*
At least those crazy liberals realize that all that spending has to be paid for in some fashion.
*If you can't tell, this is the Bush43 presidency I'm talking about here.
What does the PATRIOT act have to do with freedom - oh sorry - I mean the lack of it? Not ignoring the the refusal to allow gays the right to marriage, and all the other affronts to your personal freedom you've allowed as of late.
Patriot Act wasn't freedom, but we're still freer than say the United Kingdom or China or Venezuela or Germany or any other socialist country. Actually the Libertarian Party support gay marriage, and just because you don't think gay people should get tax exemption doesn't make you a bigot.

You've ignored every argument that has been presented. Also, nice strawman.
You heard that, green and red.
Of course they are, just like how they throw around the word "equality"

The Patriot Act infringes on American's freedoms. You claimed you love freedom. Therefore, I asked why you weren't making threads about that.
You're trying too hard to be stuck in the 1950s and 1960s. Welcome to 2011.

The US has a more powerful military than the rest of the world combined.
America has enough nuclear weapons to destroy the entire planet. So does Russia. At this point who has more is irrelevant.
