Having played too many hours of both. I would strongly disagree. Firstly, Blizzard unlike Valve isn't pants on head stupid. So you won't get the awful updates that TF2 has been getting for the last few years. Secondly, its paid for, this means almost no smurfs, hackers or Russian players shouting Russian on an English server. Overwatchs abilities and ultimate mechanics bring a lot to the game. With no paid for weapons like in TF2 and everyone having the same abilities a players skill is really what shines through.
Also Blizzards crazy attention to deal and game polish.
You are aware you don't need to pay for any weapons and you can naturally let them drop? If inventory space is in question then it's just an easy trip to Mann Co to spend something like five-dollars. Per the ults, TF2 has those too. It's called random crits and from what I understand both are basically the same when it comes to level of contention.
And when it comes down to updates, that's something of opinion. But based on what I have heard Blizzard isn't immune to being a moron when it comes to these fields, they're slowly screwing over WoW with their newest DLCs.
When it comes down to price comparisons in the end, it's free (or five/fifteen dollars, it's been a while since I went to get premium) vs the full price of a new game: it'd rather go with free. At least with that option the community market promises I will be reimbursed for whatever I do.
Coming from Dr Willy. I see gaming now as you spending money on something and then people telling to get something else because it's better or something. I don't play online multiplayer and the only games I play are GTAV and MGSV both offline because I honestly hate the online modes for both games.
Overwatch ults are nothing like TF2 random crits. You have zero control over a crit, you have full control over your ult.Not to mention that even in the lowest levels of TF2 competitive, random crits are disabled.
My experience with TF2 was: install > play tutorials > play some bot games > join player games > flamed constantly for not playing 100% optimal strat > uninstall.
This is the OFF TOPIC section. And Zak, I edited the other post, if you didn't notice.
I don't know bud, I've been playing "violent" games for a decade and never really had a violent outburst. Similarly I've been listening to a lot of black metal and I don't go out and practice the occult crap portrayed in those songs. The times I do feel the urge to something really harmful or stupid it was because factors that happened in my personal life and not influences from games I play or music I listen to.
Items will randomly drop however it can take a seriously huge number of hours for you to get a specific item. Meanwhile in Overwatch everyone is evenly matched from the start.
Actually, no.
One weapon isn't always an upgrade from another. In fact in most cases they're a side-grade made to orient a class into a strategic role. A quick-fix for the medic turns him into a quick support class, in-effective at really leading a substantial charge. Kritz medic turns the medic into a support class that can lead a quick clean sweep of a bunched up team; to the right-class the kritz medic will compliment anything that can do a click-and-kill sort of attack (demo, solly). The standard uber is a well-rounded uber that can do pretty much anything; hold the line so the odds can tip in your favor or make a push to rat something out.
In all three of these cases no one medic can out-kill another, though medic is a class that's really geared towards certain support roles.
When dealing with professional-level players they will mostly often move out with stock. A direct-hit isn't as balanced for general use as a stock launcher except to eliminate sentries from a long-distance. As much the case as the Sticky-launcher is for general purpose use that can do anything else where-as the Quickie-launcher is built for player vs player play offensive play and a Scottish Resistance for defensive roles. Again: professional demos will go stock more often than not except when the game demands they change to suit certain situations.
"Skill" in TF2 isn't determined so much by loadout than something like Call of Duty where ability can be directly correlated to loadout where skill constantly rewards the player with upgrades of the previous weapon
TF2 crits are in no way similar to ults. Firstly the random crits are random so the players skill or performance in game doesn't matter. A noob TF2 player can get a lucky random crit and kill a pro player easily. In Overwatch ult charging is entirely deterministic and its based off of your performance. Ults have a much bigger impact on the game than crits. Random crits are also disabled in TF2 in any sort of competitive play because they're stupid.
Still "Bursts of skill". Crits are disabled in comp play because the community has been around long-enough to realize they're ******** and because Valve allows for the private competitive format with private persons or groups launching their own servers with their own settings. The way I understand it is Blizzard has not offered any private server and all are Blizzard-ran official servers.
The pretense too of activating an ult seems to promote the sort of lone-wolf play that doesn't usually exist in TF2 in where if you want that short edge you need to organize with an available medic.
I understand why TF2 is popular, especially being free, children and people from poorer countries can play it without worry. But so can hackers and smurfers and flamers, unlike in Overwatch.
>People can't get mad at the game because muh 70$
I seriously hear a lot of complaining about in-game nonsense from the community. It'll drown itself in the cancer it creates for itself. I know people who'v already returned to CS:GO from Overwatch.
Didn't valve get rid of their servers in the latest patch? That and made it so leaving a casual match gives you some time penalty where you can't play again?
Community servers still exist and they patched a lot of the initial matchmaking screw-ups the week after. At this point they got some re-working on rare glitches associated with the game.
There is no possible way for me to tell you how many NPC, Enemies, or other online players i have killed in my life. But it doesn't [FRYING PANNING] well matter because they aren't real people, or it's just a [FRYING PANNING] game where no one has actually gotten hurt.
In real life, i sometimes think about what the consequences of hurting, or even killing some one would be, but i would never EVER actually go ahead with them, because those people ARE REAL [FRYING PANNING] PEOPLE.
So no, i'm pretty gosh dang diggity well sure that video games do not make people act violently in real life, people make people act violently in real life.
Indeed. There was this on the TF2 subreddit earlier today that pretty much explains what MyM tried to do.And people are still bewildered as to why the TF2 team didn't do what CSGO and Dota 2 did with their comp structures, since they're all made in the same building.
Valve ain't going to touch the private comp community in the way it already existed for CS and DOTA, where the entire game was built for league play. TF2's league play just sort of evolved out of the game itself. In no way does MyM actually try to do with TF2 what league play is for DOTA and CS:GO. It's building the same structure for unaffiliated league players so they can perhaps someday get into the pre-existing leagues which run their own private/community servers.
I honestly don't care about the other sections, I honestly don't care if the game is successful or not. I used to but not anymore. I don't like the "violent" games because it's not my type and not FULLY because of what I said earlier. I joined this forum when I played minecraft (on my other account in 2015) I then quit the game, and deleted my account on the forum. And then I searched for other forums, I found OKAY forums but the staff and community were horrible.
The off topic community of this forum, is good enough for me.
In a forum where most of us are here because of video games, doesn't that make you kind of boring?
It looks tasty yet also intense at the same time.
Hello
Just get TF2, it's the same thing and free. Or get League or DOTA.
The game isn't anything special besides being graphically shiny and "muh waifus".
