Hi guys, I was wondering how bad middle school is behaviorwise relative to elementary school in you're experience. I feel quite nervous as I feel towards the end of my final Elementary school year the maturity level of many of my peers began to regress rapidly which could result in many unsavory experiences. I also am a bit of a nerd, which doesn't help anything. Anyways, post you're experiences.
Making sure you're prepared to learn any sort of new social standards or cues is really the only advice I can give. I didn't for my first year and a half of high school (where I live, we go straight from primary to high school), and I basically had a horrible time with no real friends. Looking back, a large portion of it was probably my fault, and only in the last year or so have I really begun to improve, and it's mostly fine now.
But yeah. Expect to have to change your attitudes about and towards other people, because you probably will.
Just remember to avoid any trouble. If it's true, and people have gotten more immature, no doubt someone is going to want to cause trouble with almost anyone. If a situation like that does occur, avoid it. Always remember that. Doesn't matter what other people think, just don't get involved with any of that.
Don't worry I do NOT feel like getting in to that kind of stuff will be beneficial or is worth my time at all.
Middle school isn't too bad. I won't lie, there might be some days that you absolutely hate, but overall it is a great experience. If you're worried about being a nerd at the school, so are a bunch of other people that you may even get along with! Middle schools usually have a lot of people in them (if you don't include my charter school that only had 20 7th and 8th graders), and it's fairly easy to find people you get along with. It may take some time but you'll make some amazing memories there
I like it that I live in Australia. We only have Primary School and Secondary College, not Elementary School (where Sherlock Holmes is the teacher, pun intended), then Middle School, then High School. Maybe you Americans would shave a few billion dollars off that national debt of yours and make two types of main schooling instead of three.

Make sure not to hang with the wrong person and don't do DRUGS. I am in my 2nd year of middle school and so far it good. Be par pare for test and be sure to test. You get a bit more homework now because you have more than one teacher now.

when I went to middle school, it was pretty rough. The people in my specific grade were all savages and there were "Daily" problems with students going on. Had a few issues myself, but nevertheless found my place and made some friends that I stuck with.
Just find some friends and avoid the problem people and you will be fine.

In 7th grade a lot of stuff was going on in my school district. First there was a fight that was pretty normal for my school it was over fake jordans or something. Then too make our problem a little less dramatic some fifthy got caught selling weed by his locker. next morning we got lectured by the principal which is a pretty great guy. I feel bad for the 6th graders though their principal is a mean walrus whale.

There's nothing wrong with having 3 subdivisions of school, with college afterwards being different enough to be separate.
Maybe you should, instead of telling Americans to shave off money, stop being ignorant and stubborn to your own fixed viewpoint.
I can accept your education system. It's your turn to accept mine.
And for OP: Stay out of trouble, keep your grades high, don't make enemies, and don't do drugs. Middle school is an overall very great experience.
When I was a middle schooler, my friends actually did weed. About 4 of them did drugs. Hurts to think of it.
Prepare yourself for the most awkward and confusing few years of your life. Once they're over it'll feel great.
also, from my past experiences with middle school, grades don't matter at all until 8th grade, which is where they start putting you in high school classes based on your performance in 8th grade. I'm not saying don't try, but just don't stress yourself out and think its the end of the world if you fail something, it really doesn't matter at all.
Just got out of middle school. Don't be nervous. I mean, act a little more mature, because you are older. But don't feel like you have to act like an adult right away. No one expects that of you, at least in my experience. Just get through it. At least for me, it was easier, and even natural, to act more mature as I got older. But, as the one above me said, this will be a little confusing. But don't worry.
Also, just a tip for a few years up the road. Don't believe anyone who says you act more mature in High School. They are lying.
Well, I don't know about anyone else, but with grades, my first year of middle school was awful. Basically in Elementary school you got away with not doing homework and never studying.I never got bad grades for not doing my homework. But once I got into middle school. Where I thought it would be exactly the same, I almost failed my first year. Not to mention the fact that middle school is where people become jerks. Basically just try not to set anyone off.
This year in my middle school we will sadly have to go through some major budget cuts and possibly even lose our computers and library (confirmed to be ridding of the cafeteria).
middle school = SWEARING SWEARING SWEARING trust me this happens. Also middle school for me was kinda awkward but if your friends are with you its fine. Another thing - older kids think you're weird if you play make believe games.

You're going to be nervous but if you just listen the first day remember where to go and make friends you'll be all good.

Sire I inquire as I do with most, but do you mean to gloat? For is it truly such a tire to reply to the host with but a simple QUOTE?
