Are you sure that they're specifically avoiding you because of that, or because of another reason?

Yeah, unfortunately, as much as you want to be able to contradict yourself, it doesn't work that way. You are different from heterosexual people, otherwise you shouldn't be "demanding" equality with them.

So this is just a feel-good place for people to post their sexuality, with no discussion allowed?
(Probably to avoid the inevitable thread lock by Meta: "NO PPN CONTENT OUTSIDE OF THE NOW LOCKED SECTION! LEAVE THIS FORUM IF YOU WANT THAT STUFF!")
I don't see the point. I don't think embracing or being proud of things like my race, nationality, sex, gender, etc should be embraced or felt proud of. Just because I'm not cisgendered doesn't mean I should express it, and I don't.
I generally don't see people saying "I'm a heterosexual cisgender! I'm so proud!" but I always see people saying "I'm transgender! I'm so proud" or "I'm homosexual! I'm so proud", why? Just because you have a sexual preference or your gender doesn't match up to what you were born as biologically shouldn't mean it's something to be proud over.
Maybe it's because throughout history people who aren't heterosexual or cisgender were treated badly by society so today most people feel the need to let the world know even though it's pointless?
It's about being proud of who you are. It's not a bad thing. You might as well be proud of it. As long as it's not causing an issue, I don't see why we have to make it one.

There was a time when social pressure wanted to make homosexual/transexual/etc feel ashamed of what they are, and by semantic opposition, the movement that promoted equality wanted them to feel "proud", here in opposition to "being ashamed" (and it's the reason why the gay pride is called what it is). But now it got out of context and people say they are "proud of being homosexual", when they have lost the original meaning.

So why are all these "pride parades" and other outspoken demonstrations conveniently only for minority groups?

But they've already achieved equality, outside of the hellhole that is the southern US. Hell, they tied up Toronto for nearly an entire week, in a country that's considered one of the most progressive (hell, the Conservative Party supports abortions and same-sex marriage), so it's just being proud of an otherwise useless trait.
Bonus points if they simultaneously try to claim that they're no different than "other" people. If so, why are you hosting a pride parade solely for your orientation?

Omg finally now I know how to 'reply' LOL i kept pressing the reply button and it types all in the same box
You're proud to be...white. Hmm...
If you're not actually joking...like what, exactly?
And what about all the terrible things "the white race" has done? Does that make you proud too?
But since this is going way off-topic, we should probably drop this.
There are plenty.
You might as well embrace who you are. There's no point fretting over it.
How so?
