Just a side note if you do buy the game, it's pretty prone to crash at some parts of the game. You have to be patient quite a lot if you lose some progress due to this.
No, because the story isn't good at all, you literally have to go through 10 endings just to get the real ending and there was really no point of making this game because the game is about finding out shadows past and Rouge could of just told him about his past in sonic heroes because she knows about it because she was with him in sonic adventure 2 but Sega purposely made it that she didn't tell him in sonic heroes just to make shadow the hedgehog.
Still better than Sonic 06?

I can't believe I actually bought that hunk of schlock when it came out.
Regret it to this day, Just stick with Sonic and Knuckes or Sonic 2 or something.
If you want to play a game about a furry guy with a gun, play any one of the Ratchet & Clank games, don't play this tripe. Unlike Shadow, the Ratchet games are actually good (Except for Size Matters).

So, I guess I'm the only one who got some enjoyment out it. At times it could be frustrating and repetitive, and the story wasn't that interesting, it was fun. Now that I think about it, it actually was pretty crappy. At least it was fun to bash enemies with lamp posts.
Eh, it's an okay game. Not the best Sonic game by far, but it's okay. Mind you, I wasn't a fan of the boss battles since the bosses in Shadow the Hedgehog have way too much health for being very easy to kill, so they're just tedious. Also be aware that the missions present a choice between two objectives that decide how the story progresses and which level one will go to next (the premise of the game is Shadow trying to figure out if he's good or evil); some of the objectives require killing all of a particular enemy in a level (and as always in such levels, there's always that one enemy that's well-hidden). Other than that the gameplay was similar to Sonic Adventure and one could safely ignore the gun for the most part.
However a remake of this game is worth considering for Sega in my opinion,
just cut out the swearing and the useless guns as well as the nonsensical story design.
One way to repair that mess is to have the alternate storylines as being non canon,
and what if scenarios only, don't attempt to make them fit with the final story of the game,
the one true Shadow is that he is a hero, who respects Maria's wish to be humanity's guardian.
I do have some ideas on how I would suggest fixing it, although people are free to disagree with me I would like a good reason why.
This is something Sega unfortunately doesn't do very well, rather than look at what went wrong and attempt to fix the problem they leave their 3D Sonic franchise in a complete mess.
and this is how we ended up with Sonic Forces and Lost World, it's no coincidence, I understand why they're no longer using the Adventure formula, but this is causing more problems for them in the long term.
Some of Jason Griffith's best work as Shadow, was ironically in two bad games, not one,
but there was one cool cut scene in Sonic 06 where Shadow demolishes the Mephiles clones.
Shadow the Hedgehog is an excellent game. Critics love it and gamers continue to buy it. It has two player modes, a great story and some of the best gameplay Sega has ever created. It is well worth the money. It is also one of the best games in the entire Sonic series. It is a lot of fun and is fantastic to play with a friend.

I would advise checking out the review from retropoliszone on Youtube about this and he gives an in depth critique of the game and what could be done to improve it if a remake were to happen.
Sadly though I just don't see this happening, it would seem it would take a miracle at this point to even make Sega consider remaking the game because of the negative reviews their dark age games had been given.
Unfortunately this means the franchise cannot grow, if Sega doesn't look at what they did wrong they won't learn any lessons, instead they double down by running away from the problem altogether which is the worst thing to do.
like Rafiki in Disney's Lion King once said, "you can either run from the past or learn from it". Sega is doing the former with the Sonic franchise and the inevitable consequences of that is we're never going to get a game with a story that is well written, you see instead of having proper storyboarding, we're getting simple and childish stories with laughably bad jokes in them and horrible characters like Deadly Six.
Sonic games always had a story in them, even back during Sonic 2 when the plot was to take out Dr Eggman's Death Egg.
Personally I would like to see a return of the concept of Fleetway Super Sonic and I'm not alone with this one, see comment section of this video. If a reboot of 3D Sonic were to happen we could have Super Sonic learning how to control the chaos emeralds without the negative energy corrupting him. We could also have Shadow in his own game possessing the ability to use positive or negative chaos energy, but next time not having your own allies attack you if you stuck to your objective throughout the mission without switching sides, that would be a start to improving Shadow the Hedgehog imo.

Also, I think that Shadow is one of the best characters SEGA ever made. I dunno why though XD
