I was wondering if any of you have any experience with the Emotiv system?
If you aren't aware of it, it's a personal EEG system that plugs into your computer via usb. When you wear it it reads your brain waves via sensors. Thinking about different things will cause different thought patterns to register. The way it works is by you training it to associate specific thought patterns with specific in game actions (essentially pressing hot-keys with your brain).
i.e.: You think "forward" and your character moves forward.
From demos I've seen & read, the controller has a pretty steep learning curve before it learns how to read you & you learn how to focus in a way that makes it easier for the system to understand. But once it starts to work with you it seems like it would be an incredibly cool peripheral to play around with!
Man, technology is really get way to advanced now a days. I have never heard something like this before. But this could become pretty useful. Unless somebodies mind becomes this
I've never heard of this controller specifically, but I do recall a program on television in which a seriously paralyzed man was manipulating a computer through some heavily-wired apparatus on his head. This brings a whole new meaning to the phrase; "Put on your thinking cap." It did look very difficult to control, definitely not practical for gaming, but that was several years ago that I saw this, and technology moves insanely fast. I wouldn't personally use one, as all my limbs are fully functional, but it's a pretty awesome idea that could make electronics more accessible to the handicapped.

Has anyone heard about/used this system before?

And suddenly Cammy (Street Fighter series) ripped off her clothes...
"Oh crap, that's not what I meant to do! Honest!"
No luck, it made the game too hard, always removing my characters armor :<
