Try Beneath a steal sky, its a indie point and click game, and blew me away when I first played it(seriously, this is the game that got me into allot of indie games!), I'm searching for a point and click game as good as this, and to this day, I haven't found one, and that's the truth! Highly recommended to everyone! You can get the game (free) on gog.com, which is a website I also recommend for all indie gamers!
....Hate to break it to you, but BaSS isn't indie by a longshot. Revolution also made the Broken Sword franchise, as well as lure of the temptress and In Cold Blood. It's just old. It's like calling Tyrian 2000 indie despite that it was made by Epic.
Now,if you actually want some good freeware indie titles, then pick up La-Mulana and Cave story. That'll keep you busy 'till 2013 at the earliest.

"I often think about that old metaphor, the one that says we are all islands on a wide sea. Especially these days, now that things are more difficult than before and the world appears to be harsher than we once imagined it to be. We are all like islands, the philosopher said. Perhaps it's true. Yet I cannot help but remember an older saying, scratched on a cave wall somewhere by a long-forgotten prophet: in the end, the sea will claim everything."
It isn't indie, but atleast it's Free to Play((Although the Players who paid for the game are very stubborn against Players who haven't paid for the game, sometimes even more against those who are actually good[[Some of them have even rage-quitted upon hearing that they were beaten by a team of F2P players]]. I recommend going through the training first)).
Look up Chescter or Chester, or something like that. It's only going to be free for a little while though.

Seedling is a very Zelda-esque type of game.
