I'm posting this again because I think it's a good idea. Don't judge.
Although it is extremely unlikely, Valve should develop a game called "The Third." It could feature a compilation of all of the main Valve games that people are complaining about for sequels. After all, the games fit into each other's timelines. The connection between Portal and Half-Life have been established in-game, and since Half Life 2 takes place in Europe, there can easily be a zombie apocalypse in America (Left 4 Dead) in which the Combine can't control and have abandoned all attempts to capture, since there are presumably very few survivors. (So far, we know 7, and some military dudes.) Unfortunately, Team Fortress 2 takes place in the 1960's (even with the surprisingly advanced weapons and money powered robots), so that's out of the picture, unless there's some magic/futuristic teleport time thingy, which is understandable, because it's TF2.
But with Aperture Science's wild experiments with portals, the data of the Borealis, and the Combine's desperation to reach it, Gordon, Alex, and the Combine could take a visit to an underground abandoned science facility during a zombie apocalypse. It's just a far-fetched idea, but it is interesting to think about.
And if all else fails, Wheatley better fall from space in HL3.

I haven't played TF2, HL2 or L4D2, but I have played Portal 2. I can get why they are doing this; they want you to get the most fun out of games before they start making newer and better trilogies. They don't want to carry on something that's old as time.

Valve just hasn't tossed a three into any of their titles yet. Big whoop. Episode one was the third game in the series.
Episode One wasn't the third Half Life, get a grip of it. There have multiple Half Life games before Half Life 2.
There was Half-Life, Half-Life: Opposing Force, Half-Life: Blue Shift, THEN Half-Life 2 and Half-Life 2 Episode 1 & 2
And I knew about all of those, but I checked Wikipedia and apparently Half-Life: Decay may or may not exist. It came after Blue Shift
No,I guess five is enough (List goes like this -> Half-Life 1
Half-Life 2
HL 2 Episode 1
HL 2 Episode 2
HL 3 : The Final of Combine and The Death of Gordon, and of course...Earth being sealed forever, and a romantic ending like Alyx kissing Gordon before their last breath)
So yeah...
A few things about that, 1, that's not the order. You forgot all the other Half-Life 1 games, and two, what about Aperture, they can't end the entire world without something mentioning about them. Also, hate your ending. So yeah...

1. It does and it was ported to pc
2. All the half life 1 games are exactly the same from different perspectives
They should have made the original Left 4 Dead actually be called Left 2 Die, and Left 4 Dead be the sequel because they may as well just skip number 3 in all their franchises.

Well you see Valve needs to put in a lot of work and energy to be able to count to number 3! The amount of energy it takes to count to such a high number is tremendous! It requires getting all of the employee's together for a meditating session... don't worry my young padowan they will get to 3... eventually...

OK, I have a theory about each game individually and I'll explain them here,
Half Life 3 has a very big problem. It has reached myth status now and no matter what Valve does, the game will not live up to expectations. Think about it. What made Half Life 2 so great? Wonderful graphics, a revolutionary physics engine, and a great storyline. Take out the physics and you are pretty much just left a great game. HOWEVER, everyone expects Half Life 3 to be one of the greatest games in the history of video games. Valve has most likely realized this and might never make a Half Life 3 so they have this kind of martyr of video games so to speak. Also, it's giving them tons of free publicity as people keep asking them about it or picketing the front of their offices and it keeps putting them on the front of video game news.
Portal 3 will most likely never come out because Chell's story is done. Over. Through. Done. Done? Yes. The only way it may come out is if they did a prequel where Glados is taking over and you try to prevent it as Ratman. This might work but it wouldn't be Portal 3 sooooooooo...
Team Fortress 2 is still thriving so they don't really need a Team Fortress 3. Why would they make one anyway? There's no storyline and the graphics and physics are fine so there isn't a reason to change.
Left 4 Dead 3. I think they realized how ridiculous Left 4 Dead 4 would sound so they just killed it where it was at.

Oh hey. Looks like you're reading my signature. That's nice. If you thought I was going to put something funny here, I'm not. I will however put a link to my suggestion about gold tools. I think it's fairly popular. It would be nice if it was added. Just click the link and look at it. Please? I'm desperate. http://www.minecraft...-arent-useless/
Because of the sonic games??? I mean, I watch Game Theory, so I watched the sonic episode, and according to him, the sonic games got bad after 3 games... I don't know if this would be a logical answer but... it's just a theory, a game theory!
1. Valve is only working on Steam and his popular games so Gabe is forgot about HL3 and other games with 3.
2. When is Gabe was child, he was haved 3 dollars. One ice cream who is wanted to buy is was cost 1 dollar. After is left 2 dollars so he is begin to like that number.
3. Valve is obviusly now working on all games with number three, so Valve is publish it on one pack called 'Three Pack'. That project is too big so that pack will be published for, maybe, 3-4 years.
Valve have already announced that they're moving out of the game dev scene and purely working on Steam and it's counterparts (SteamOS, Steam Machines etc.)

I have a Spoon. Your argument is invalid.

AND HL3 AND L4D3 WERE CONFIRMED.

And on an unrelated note, Halo CE, 2 and 3 are speculated as well.

Best pun.

Nobody seemed to have picked up on it for some reason.
