We have seen 2 of them outside of Elswyer. We see the Ohmes is Arena and Daggerfall and the Suthay in the latest ones.
If we ever get a TES game in Elswyer we'd have to see the other 15.
Anyway, thought it was time to post something I like from one of the games.
Please disregard the fact he's making a comparison to Skyrim. Good, now nobody's going to ***** that I'm "hating" despite not.
The thing is that the quests in Oblivion were really creative. I mean, enter a painting to fight trolls with turpentine? Awesome. Whoddunnit and The Ultimate Heist were some of the best quests I've ever played. Being stranded on an island after finding out the guy was lying about the debts? First time I played it that was mind blowing. Everything was hidden and full of secrets and when you found them it was so... creepy and awesome.
"Wanna join the Thieves' Guild? Then you figure it out. Once you found us, here's an actual test to join. No, there is no HQ, we're thieves. Steal some ****". I believe it was a creative way to do it. Not to undervalue the Daggerfall/Morrowind/Skyrim systems of course, I thought they were different not worse.
More examples: Two goblin tribes are at war and you must stop them. Well, you can start a different war, you can kill their leaders, you can make them raid a city... Great right. "Through a Nightmare Darkly" was interesting and different from the other quests. Taking everyone's clothes off in a dinner? Genius. Becoming a knight errand was nice too for a minor quest.
Now, if we had Oblivion's quest quality, and Morrowind's journal system, the next game's going to be perfect!
Now, again, before anyone hates on me. I'm of the part that thinks all the TES games (save Arena) were equally great, so I just dislike when people say "Oblivion is generic and bad" despite that being quite unfounded. I hope these examples could at least make your understanding change a bit
Know that I'm not saying "your opinion is bad". I've done these kinds of posts for other games and series before. Unecessary hate is something I dislike. Cheers.
Skyrim had some decently unique quests but half the time I found them while wondering blindly in the mountains I think the terrain of Skyrim makes it harder to find quests. It also seems like they tried to avoid the cities being giant quest hubs.
But I think overall Oblivion might have had better quests.
But Skyrim while still flawed has had the best Combat systems we have seen from any TES game.
Skre mod fixes all the big flaws and makes the combat quite a bit of fun.
But I blame most of Skyrims flaws on the Xbox 360 and PS3, I really want to see what Bethesda can pull off with the power of the Nexbox and the PS4.
You posted an image talking about it.
The image was only used because it featured some examples for Oblivion.
Then you also mention later in your post.
But why talk about the series as a whole but ignore the newest one?
I misunderstood your post It seemed like you were trying to say Oblivion was the only one with good quests.
I hardly see any hate for Oblivion other then from people who dislike the series as a whole so most of the time I just ignore people like that. I mean people can dislike the series but you can't say its generic, how many other open ended rpgs are out. At least its not a cookie cutter fps.
If I could argue like you I'd never have to write a long post again
I need to get back to the main quest and become Hortrator.
I just woke up when I had read that.
Well back to finding out what mod is crashing my game.
Could you give me a list of the mods you're using?
At this point none and its still crashing.
I am just doing a fresh install atm.
Worked fine until I updated SKSE.
But even running it with no mods and no Skse it still crashes.
So I am back to playing some oblivion until it finishes downloading.
Edit:
Well looks like I got that fixed so now time to remod it again.
All things considered, Blockland is the superior game.
Upon arriving, he immediately looked for guard work and Fighter's Guild work and got involved in the Siren's Deception quest. He defeated the criminals and thinned the bandit population near the city of Anvil down. That earned Countess Umbranox's attention and she sent for him. He was accepted into the Imperial Legion with Ubranox's help and then assigned to be a defender of Kvatch.
For a week, he helped get supplies for Kvatch and helped fend off all the meddlesome scamps. Finally, he became brave enough to run into the Oblivion Gate itself and close the Gate by himself, with a bit of help from a Kvatch guardsman who was inside (unfortunately, the guardsman was cut down by two Dremora).
He helped regain the town of Kvatch and for this, was rewarded 3000 septims and was promoted to a post in Skingrad. There, he battled many bandits and solved crime in the city, gaining reputation and being rewarded a manor for his valiant efforts.
His story, however, is far from finished.
BTW, I used the console to give me reward money and money for the house in Skingrad and its upgrades.
Do you have the DOS emulator thingy installed?
