Ok i was watching the review for Battlefield 3 an hour ago and i saw a comment on IGN that really described a lot of the fanboys' attitudes toward other console gamers. (IDK if PC is a console.)
24 players? LOL, console kids.
Youtube
19 people dont know what a good game is and r going to go back to playing cod now....
FAGS!
Just because people have consoles doesn't mean they are stupid kids. Maybe people just don't have the thousand of spare dollars to spend on a high-end PC that can play Battlefield 3 or Crysis maxed out. Not only that but poeple seem to complain that consoles have a downgraded version of it; which maybe true. But think about how old the consoles are. They came out like 7 years ago. (correct me if i'm wrong) And their networks capabilities and hardware don't upgrade every year like PCs do. I say console players are the real gamers because they are in it for the fun like they should be and don't worry too much about compatibility or status. (Or whatever it is that they rant about)
I have a laptop that can play Farcry 2 on medium graphics and play Minecraft just fine. I would like to spend $1000 on a good laptop but that's something that has to be saved up for and invested in. Not all of us can do that just for a couple games to play on Max graphics. (Medium graphics dont bother me but Low sort of does.)
I would prefer PC gaming over consoles any day but it's no reason to go ranting about it how it's "superior" to consoles. PCs do have more power but people just like to brag sometimes. Anyone else agree?
I totally agree. I am a PC gamer by personal preference, but I don't have anything against consoles. It's the same with the whole LoL vs. HoN crap. What people are essentially saying is, "I don't like something, therefore you shouldn't either," which is a stupid and immature thing to say, nor will it get your argument anywhere.
+1 to you, sir!

If you have enough cash for a PS3 and a Laptop no matter how bad(most likely ripped off if you bought it retail) you have enough for a decent rig $500-700 can get you a computer today and run every title out their.
this OMG I NEEDZ 2k$$ TO RUN anything is annoying, also the rumors about needing to buy constant upgrades each year as well both are lies and just show fanboyism of consoles that are PC's just manufactured and made for one reason gaming and controlled by the company that made them.
Right now I won't have to upgrade till next next gen console arrives due to my rig being future proofed doesn't mean I can max every game in the next 6 years but I can play it at least on medium.
The reason behind some of the hate from PC gamers towards consoles come from how almost every big title (except for blizzard titles at least) is either made for consoles or end up somewhere between consoles and PC. Skyrim would be the obvious example, another example would be Final Fantasy 14 where lots of people actually bought controllers because the controls for keyboard and mouse were horribly made. BF3 also got lots of issues like this, like the spot menu wheel, or being unable to click deployments on the mini-map when choosing to spawn in (like you have been able to in every previous version if I'm not mistaken). It's just becoming less and less comfortable/practical to play games with keyboard and mouse because just about every game seems to be designed for thumb-sticks these days.
In addition the graphics and likes of PC games suffers because they get "molded" for the specifications of the consoles, again to take Skyrim as an example, it don't even support directX 11 properly and the textures could have been a lot better for PC. Like with BF3 where they actually released high res textures for PC separately so that you can download them if you want, why they aren't in the PC version of the game to begin with we'll never know.
Also, video game genres that are thumb-stick unfriendly seems to shrink rapidly as there is just more money in making a FPS or RPG that you can just publish on all platforms.
People always bring up the "I don't have a million dollars!" argument. For the price of the latest console with a couple of your faveorite games, controllers, and maybe a TV. You could get a decent computer which can do much more than a console can do. I have a ~700 dollar comp that I've had for 4 years, only one small upgrade, and I have TONS of different games that I can play at pretty good quality.

Did you really just include the price of a tv and games when comparing the price of a good computer and system?.... do you include electricity and the water bill from showering as well?

Need a monitor (or you can get a tv and use that if its fairly new) and games for PC are cheaper usually other then a few titles (3 this year..) so yes tv and games should be taken into account as well.
He didn't include the price of a home computer (for doing "average" computer things at home like email/interwebs which depending what it is can be turned into a beast of rig by a video card alone at times.
It's midnight so can't vouch for how readable this will be.
Don't hate console gamers, but hate the consoles themselves. To many damn games on the PC are just console ports. Their graphics, control schemes, etc are limited because the game was original target for the Console market. Rage (god was that game boring), Skyrim, and many others would of been better games if they had targeted them for the PC first then made console variations of them like they use to.
Any more it the opposite and the game end up being crap on the PC. Seriously, Rage had to get updates just so you could do more then just change the resolution without having to add commands to the shortcut.
On top of all that I hate consoles since buying a consoles is a dead end. Can't upgrade them, and sooner or later you'll have little choice but buy a new one and repeat the process. I can spend the same amount people spend on Next gen consoles and build a far superior PC system (that does more then play games to). And spend a hell lot less upgrading it for the Next gen of PC games (if there are any, seem to be slowly dieing beside console ports).
And don't get me started on the fact that you can't play old console games some times on new systems (such as some PS1 games on ps3 systems). Might need a special program some times but I still play games on my PC I bought back for windows 3.1

I just wanted to throw that out there because i want a good PC but all the PC gamers are rubbing it in everyone's faces.
You're so superior to console gamers...
Or build a PC, which is less expensive, but needs some sort of skill, I guess.
So you're saying that PC gamers are not having fun in their games?
I guess i said that wrong. I mean PC games can still enjoy the game but they have to worry more about being able to run and tweak it.
Actually, not really. You don't always have to play BF3 on Max graphics with over 60 FPS. Hell, I enjoy playing TF2 with 30 FPS with low graphics.
Thats actually a good tactic. LOL
I stand corrected LOL (a bit of an exaggeration) I just talking about the fanboys, not all the PC gamers.
I pity them, I'm not resentful.
Not really, no.
Just because I can **** with my games doesn't mean I have to.
You're a bit like a lesbian with penis envy.
Wow awesome comparison. Thanks. :dry.gif:
